The power of physical release. Mario Kart World already down from 90 Euros to 70-72 Euros in Germany.

They are doing everything to kill physical media as quickly as possible. Soon, there will be no choice.

Only pc will remain with different stores and vendors - so the best form of digital distribution.
PC is the only platform that makes sense in the abolition of physical releases. You are throwing money away being at the mercy of Sony/Xbox/Nintendo's proprietary store.

PC was first out the blocks with going digital. It must annoy those companies to no end that Valve got there first.

they effed the online so bad in the last update.

I would love the grand prix's to be those traveling tracks and 3 laps to conclude the match. I'm tired of the narrative that it would be "too long". That's what makes it fun. Especially with 24 players it would be nice to have time to get your bearings. By the time you reach the track it's basically over if you don't pull some good items.
Only then it feels like some of the competitors are bots... the ones named Ryan, John, Tom... Etc.

PC gamers lucked out big time with Valve and Steam. The fact that Valve is not a publicly traded company makes a huge difference.

Unpopular opinion maybe in this thread, but.... this is where the code in a box things are good, you get the benefits of digital but the price competition of physical.

If you get a bundle it is only $50.00 here in the states. It's a steal.

$80.00 for MK specifically is a huge nothingburger. It is one of the very few games you know is worth it and also it actually costs $50.00 if you love Nintendo.

1. Everyone buying Switch 2 will want MK
2. MK comes bundled with the console for 50 dollars

If you were ignorant of that fact you would have to pay 80. What is the issue again? Being ignorant of any market means you will pay more and get less. Smart money stays in the green. Smart money knowns the quality will be remembered longer after the price is forgotten. Smart money buys once cries once. Smart money knows 2 is 1 and 1 is none. Smart money knows you stay in the game by buying the flagship not the runner up. Smart money knows there is safety in numbers. Smart money has diamond hands. Dumb money chases short cheese. Dumb money ruins their company rep over this quarters sales results. Smart money chases long cheese.

After playing MKWorld for a few weeks I don't think it is worth $80. The Grand Prix needs to have standard 3 lap races on every track, the knockout tour is a lot of fun in game and online.
I agree, MK8 was a lot more fun in Grand Prix. Disappointing for me, really.

but Microsoft told me that this was overrated and that actually no one buy physical because of convenience!

The data must be wrong

Imagine wanting to pay more for games just because you're upset others get to play it 4 days before you do.
It's just a sneaky exploitative way of charging more than the base price without getting a backlash. Companies should be confident about charging what they want, not create two versions of the game
