50/50 doesn't make sense though. Just because there are 2 options doesn't mean both are equally likely.Re: Dusk Soldier.
1. Dusk is scum and wants to get rid of the apparent winner because he either knows the Xbox is bad for the scum team of Sony fanboys or he is guessing this to be the case.
2. Dusk is town and spells out one of the many possible options (50/50) about Blarg and the price. There should be scum or two throwing shade at Dusk for free #townpoints.
I'm leaning 2 because Dusk's 50/50 makes sense, although it is impossible to prove it correct. Dusk also mentions that it would be very strange indeed for scum to push a lynch this early. The shade-throwers should be looked at after we get few days of votes and whatnot behind us.
Nah I was definitely counting CornBro so I don't know what I was doing.Looking again at the opening Post it mentions the following names :
So did i make the same mistake *splinter by counting 4 players ?
Not sure what you are referring to, but I never tried to get info from Blarg? I just wanted him to explain his question to meFirst i was confused about the claim that blarg is the actual winner of the Xbox, but since no one else claimed to have won the prize for now i am inclined to believe him. Furthermore this has to be his most well versed way of playing so i am very happ about that ( not saying that he could not be scum but i just want to give him credit for not blowing or minds already). About what info he got while recieving the item. I think Blarg wont reveal a thing and it will be a wasted effort *splinter, we will have to wait and see what it will do. ( you can keep trying though i would love to know what it will do )
What do you all think, are the contestants chosen randomly or not?
Oh Blarg, why do you lie so much? You must realize by now that if you're town then doing so on Day 1 is not what most consider helpful.sry I was lying
I actually bid $343.42
I didn't win the Xbox, someone else did
Nah I was definitely counting CornBro so I don't know what I was doing.
Also forgot to mention:
Not sure what you are referring to, but I never tried to get info from Blarg? I just wanted him to explain his question to me
It's a lot less random that it looks, with the people on the edges allmost guaranteed to be safe (for example, I was ruled out by the 3rd move).
That's kind of scummy, especially if there happen to be no scum in the middle of the board.
It could also be argued that it gives us a starting point. Will people vote magnum or choose to defend him. The defense is easy ("this game is bullshit") but becomes interesting later if magnum does in fact turn out to be scum. The problem with this is we already have a starting point with both Dusk and Blarg under fire (and a good ol' scum slip from WAMD), so I'm questioning Kark's motivations here.
I guess? I mean as a general rule fluff is fluff, we would only know the contestants if it was in red text. It's become even more obvious now that we know all 4 contestants, although to be fair Blarg's question was before that.
"Actual retail price is.... $459!"
*snip*
The contestants begin to look around in their seats, and the muttering begins. Kawl looked down at Blargonaut, who seemed deattached from this world as he quoted lovely, if bizarre, poems. *Splinter started glancing everyone a dirty look. Stanley grinned, taking almost joy in the instanity. Nobody had paid attention during the commotion, so nobody was certain... but at least one of them was actively trying to ruin the show.
*snip*
I happen to have circumStantial evidence that the 4 players mentioned in the Item Bid fluff (Kawl, *Splint, Blarg, Stan) are indeed the first 4 contestants on Contestants' Row, and that *Splitner is lying about his non-participation

my Bid PM to Sophia last Night said:By the bovine swill of Sorian's tongue!

TY for the prize btw
(You know who you are)
We do pricing games during night phase it seems? Dunno what winning does. Perhaps the items give one-shot role powers?
Day phase is probably still standard Mafia.
Yeah, I was a contestant
I bid $444.43
What did you get?
Why are you lying?
I didn't bid, didn't have an invite.
Either fluff is fluff or someone stole what's rightfully mine }
Are you asking me about what's in my pocket?
Scum team is going to target power roles, he just made himself their number one target.
He either has some sort of immunity protecting him from being NK, or he's part of the scum team and knows he doesn't have to worry about it.
Don't over think this.
I know you guys want to consider all options and everything, but Blarg has a 50/50 chance of flipping scum.
It's day one, let's not waste it on an inactive as per usual gafia tradition.
Really interested in hearing about your theory and methodology on RNG and target selection probability.
You want me to explain how RNG works?
*puts on sleazy unethical lawyer tie*
ahem
This line in particular, is a practically irrefutable sign that the Day 1 fluff post contains the correct identities of all four 1st Round contestants, as it directly references the 'good fortune appeal' poem that I included in my Bid PM to Sophia last Night, which was:
The fact that the fluff directly references what transpired in the Bid PM exchange between me and Sophia (the poem), means that it likely also directly references what transpired in the Bid PMs between Sophia and the other contestants, hence it likely references their identities, hence a goodly confirmation that the listed 4 are indeed the 1st Round bidders.
Ergo, one of us 4 has the Xbox, and it definitely isn't me, because I bade too low
How you explain CornBro and CM claims they bid also?
They're lying and they're probably 2 of 3 scum (#3 being one of the 4 bidders, if we take that fluff line of "but at least one of them was actively trying to ruin the show." literally)
If either is scum why bring it up at all? Why not hide in obscurity?
so, my Stance thus far:
Kark - 50% odds of scum (his Plinko for D1 lynch target = disruptive, manipulative chaff grenade)
none of this matters at the moment anyway; what we should be doing is Running Man'ning anSMPSNS_Poochie.jpg Todayredact'd

I had nothing to do with the night bid, by the way. If everybody reports in on that, I guess it could be helpful
You'd like that, wouldn't you
Our most inactive player is LP.
Blarg, what are your thoughts on Dusk?
I would like everybody to speak up, one way or another. We end up in trouble down the road if we don't have input from players to look at.
Stepping in real fast because this is partially my fault, but I need to clarify that the flavor in the Day 1 post is just that: Flavor.
The relevant bits are either in potential PMs (which, as per usual rules, you may not directly quote), or highlighted in the opening post.
That is all, sorry for the confusion. Carry on!
Just wanted to let everyone know that last night I had my first Mafia dream/nightmare! Dreamed that the day phase ended today and I had missed my chance to vote.
I've never even had one of those "back in college and I forgot about my final!" type of dreams, so that was new.
Not much to add on the current situation, unfortunately. Has it been determined if those involved in the pricing game knew who they were bidding against?
OK, let's get started.
So blarg has the Xbox...I think?
We haven't heard from the other contestants yet, but I'm more inclined to believe that blarg is telling the truth since lying about getting an item would just lead to a thunderdome situation. I am curious though...how important are the items in this game? Are they just helpful tools for scum hunting, or could they possibly be the replacement for the traditional power roles?
I might be over thinking this but since items are integral to the price is right, I think they might be the same for this game.
Blarg's fluffhunting looks silly to me no matter what his alignment. I lean bit more towards scum because fluff speculation is a easy way to appear more present. But it is Blarg so it could be and mean anything.
no
everyone shut up, I got this
save the banter for Jeopardy
Are you fucking kidding me?but first-
food for thought
Are you fucking kidding me??They're lying and they're probably 2 of 3 scum (#3 being one of the 4 bidders, if we take that fluff line of "but at least one of them was actively trying to ruin the show." literally)
Ok sure, I see where your coming from, but seriously? Hints from the moderator? Is this your first game?
Baring in mind the stupidity of Blarg's arguments, this is an overwhelmingly neutral response.Blarg's fluffhunting looks silly to me no matter what his alignment. I lean bit more towards scum because fluff speculation is a easy way to appear more present. But it is Blarg so it could be and mean anything.
This was before Sophia's (not even needed) correction.none of this matters at the moment anyway; what we should be doing is Running Man'ning an inactive Today
