Davidion said:What the hell are you talking about? Worldwide, PS3 constitutes anywhere from 70 to 90% of overall Blu-ray player sales depending on the region. HD is still relatively a non-issue when it comes to DVD sales but even wildly estimating HD players having all of 5% of overall DVD player sales means that there are at least over 6 million HD players are out there, a bulk of them being PS3s. Who cares when there may be some "regions" where HD doesn't matter?
PS3 is both a game console and a BR player. While that's fine functionally, that also means that its target market is divided between consumers who uses it for different reasons. Yeah, everyone who bought a PS3 just adores it as a game console. *roll eyes* It's great how easily people spew out conveniently ignorant bullshit just to support their brand loyalties.

I think the PS3 has no games stigma is there due to lack of exclusive games and that the majority of the multiplatform games are better on the 360 still.
I actually caught myself saying "there is nothing to play on the PS3" a couple of weeks back. I bought a PS3 in January and I haven't played a game on it yet. I loaded up Uncharted to see the intro but that's it. Oh I did play the demo for MLB the Show.
But really other than Uncharted and MGS, I don't see a thing this year that will get me playing my PS3.
It is a great Bluray player though. And I love it for that.

I did buy it with my system. If there was any game on the PS3 that deserved my support it's a Naught Dog game. And I know I'll love it but I've got over 40 games on my 360 and they are keeping me plenty busy right now.
It's tough though when the release schedule for games is so packed. I'm really looking forward to the drought this summer so I can do a bit of catching up.
And I've never been into the Hot Shots games. I would rather play Tiger than Hot Shots. But I don't doubt that it's awesome if you are into that game.
But I am that customer that stand in front of the PS3 games section at Best Buy and Blockbuster and can't see a single game that I want to play NOW. It's kinda odd.

He owns a 360 but, I know he's a gamer and have been trying to convince him to pick up a PS3 for some of the great stuff on it now and going forward that he won't be able to always get on his 360.
I just got his reply:
"$399 is still too expensive for a system with barely any games."
I can't believe that this boogeyman from the launch times is still around. Do people still honestly believe this?
Unless the demo is nothing like the game at all then I've played the game. It's dogshit and would probably be the worst PS3 tacky controller usage had I not happened to play a second game that used said feature, Locoroco, and I don't think we need to talk about that waste of my goddamn $5.inner-G said:I don't know if you're being sarcastic, or if it's just painfully obvious you haven't played the game.![]()

There have been polls proving that in certain territories, HD media playback was a non-issue for the majority of consumers interested in purchasing a "next-gen" console. Thus, the idea that no one is interested in purchasing a PS3 to play games is fucking asinine.

Right. I think this here might prove more about the state of the PS3's library than intended. :lolinner-G said:I thought the motion-control in Folklore was actually badass.
A dualshock 3 makes all the difference though, pulling out the souls is sooo much better w/ rumble.
What? It's better motion control than some 1st-party Wii games imo.RevenantKioku said:Right. I think this here might prove more about the state of the PS3's library than intended. :lol

Davidion said:Really, do tell where I remotely hinted at such a thing? If i recall correctly, you were the one insinuating about how the PS3 outsold "other consoles" on the strength of its games. Yes, some polls somewhere hinted at some territories having customers that weren't interested in HD. Cut the crap.
:lol Back when the subject was on BD vs. HD, it's all about how the PS3's value proposition is going to encourage everyone to buy the PS3 as a BD player. Now that HD lost, it's all about how everyone is buying the PS3 to play games. Nobody said that no one is interested in buying a PS3 to play games, but that doesn't mean gaming alone would begin to explain its sales numbers. Kindly kill the victim strawman BS and stop insulting everyone's intelligence.

What you say is true, but that doesnt matter to really anyone.Rhazer Fusion said:Strangely enough, I have never met anyone who said the PS3 has no good games. Not trying to start anything, but I will never understand the, "PS3 has no games mentality" when IMHO, the Wii by far has the weakest line-up of software on the market, but I will not go into that for the obvious reasons. I think the PS3 has a admirable amount of quality exclusives and alot of the GOOD third party games that are on the X360 are also on the PS3 even if they aren't quite as good sometimes. I am not saying the PS3 lineup is as strong as the X360's at this point, but considering it hasn't been out near as long, I think it's library is fairly impressive.
Well, good for your opinion! I guess? NMH is a good example of motion in a game like this. Folksoul is a good example of why it burns when I pee.inner-G said:What? It's better motion control than some 1st-party Wii games imo.

And were did I insinuate anything other then the fact that the idea of the PS3 not having any games is asinine (and it is because it does). You can try to spin what I said anyway you want, but the truth of the matter is that PS3 does have games (and some damn good ones imo) and you don't have anything concrete to show that PS3 sales are up for the bluray player alone.
Cut the crap indeed.
