I can't seem to do the dive attack consistently. Actually more like I can do it maybe 10% of the time.
It's down on the joystick and hold attack I think

I think you hit down plus jump and it has to be at the peak of your jump. I think there's a height minimum also, so more likely to trigger after a vertical wall run or big drop.I can't seem to do the dive attack consistently. Actually more like I can do it maybe 10% of the time.

Thx, I'll try that.I think you hit down plus jump and it has to be at the peak of your jump. I think there's a height minimum also, so more likely to trigger after a vertical wall run or big drop.
Also you can snoop below you with the right stick so you can look who to land on sometimes.
Nice. Yeah, I got some community pack and it showed like 10 costumes but I didn't get to look at that yet. Cool. I just noticed all the additional achievements you can get from the headhunter guy. Pretty addicting to knock those off.Thx, I'll try that.
Also, the red flame currency is for costume unlocks from a person you rescue. Once rescued, her tent will show in the Oasis
Hades is so goodI like it but godam roguelite just not my thing other than Hades.
Legendary Medallion?Just got Slayer. So good
Its a weapon. Too big to be called a sword. Massive, thick, heavy, and far too rough.Legendary Medallion?
If it's what I think it is, it throws out 8 way fire darts when you do a special move?
I have the slayer, but thought it was too slow to use.Its a weapon. Too big to be called a sword. Massive, thick, heavy, and far too rough.
I have a fun build for it. Critical hits stun enemies. Killing enemies stuns nearby enemies. Special attack +30%. Weapon damage +10%. So enemies are very often stunned, and I use kicks liberally. So its easy to just always 1 shot with the chop. Normal attacks and jump attacks are pretty fast too.I have the slayer, but thought it was too slow to use.
I think I may try to use the Axe because some of the later sub boss/boss shields are so hard to break with regular fast weapons. It seems specially made for aura shields
It's a rogue-lite
Don't hesitate. Its one of the best roguelikes ever made and one of the best 2D action games ever.that's the reason I completely ignored it so far... but it's in gamepass so what the heck? lol... I'll play it. The Lost Crown was so god-like that I am tempted to play anything 2D PoP at this point.
There is synergies. The game is very well done, but it misses on something fairly fundamental in terms of the rogue like formula - synergies.
There isn't much exciting about mixing up your arsenal, as the skills don't really play off each other, and a lot of weapons feel kinda samey.
Other than that it's quite good, and has a nice interwoven story, and the parkour is just great. I'd give it a solid 8/10, if it had synergies It would get into the 9+ territory.
Highly recommended to check it out.
That's what I've been wondering. The series is associated with nothing but excellence. There never was a horrible entry. Lost Crown was great, and so is this. The remake is being redone by their top teams. People need to wake up.I wonder if this would have done better without the POP brand attached.
I suppose I should have said there are some limited synergies but overall it's not great. In other rogue games they are much more salient and less situational, eg. Weapon now shoots 3 projectiles instead of 1, projectile weapons causes explosions, etc. And them layering on top of each other to make broken stuff. There is synergies.
Example: resin from a kick or mantle. Now, do the flail fire weapon. Use its special to ignite it, which now lights the resin to do blue fire damage. Could also do a "tools now create fire" and shoot a bow when you're on resin.
Breath is auto maxed on dash combo with weapons / items that require you in breath mode for damage buffs.
I can go on. There's definitely combos of stuff and it pays out.
Nah it's a rather easy rogue game and I love it for that. It respected my time. 12 hours to beat it and roll credits.I suppose I should have said there are some limited synergies but overall it's not great. In this game the synergies are kinda bland and the game is easy overall so getting to the final boss and beating it is relatively straightforward (unless I'm not at the "real" final boss, still some story beats that I'm working through).
PS+?! LET'S GO!!Gamepass?! Let's go!!!
Don't hesitate. Its one of the best roguelikes ever made and one of the best 2D action games ever.
Much better looking in person.Say whaaaa...
I mean I've heard good things that's for sure, time to check it out I guess. I love roguelites but the artstyle of this one didn't drag me in, but maybe it'll grow on me.
I really enjoyed it in the beginning and have soured a little because of the save bugs. I might try to manual save after every run or go to that screen and copy saves to make sure it doesn't happen again.I ended up giving up on the game.
I finished the last boss very early on and then it was just grinding the rest of the game with most things unlocked to see the rest of the story. I kinda hoped some extra difficult stuff would open up but no, and using those stones to make the run harder just feels lame. Would have preferred a more tailored experience.
Downgrading to like a 6/10. Too easy, no meaningful synergies, overly grindy and lacks variety. Love the music and movement, and combat feels fluid, but everything else ended up being blah.
Alright, I finished my first playthrough of Triangle Strategy and before jumping into NG+ I thought I'd check this out. 4 hours later: yeah, this is legit.
First step was change movement to d-pad, playing 2D with an analogue stick is sacrilegious, why that would be the default is beyond me, especially since the d-pad isn't utilized in any way. The game controls like a dream, fluid and balletic, the Prince vaulting, wall-running, swinging and flipping with ease. Combat varied with myriad weapons/tools to combine and synergies to discover with all the talismans, it's good stuff (but seriously needs force feedback to elevate the sense of combat, stop ignoring this devs!).
Visually it's a feast for the eyes, painterly and ethereal, animations flowing and beautiful, the world radiating a mystical atmosphere. I appreciate the little things like the transition animations when entering doors or fast traveling, there is a vitality infused into every facet of the design that demonstrates a true passion from the devs working on the project. The OST is likewise fantastic, this is one of my favourite tracks:
Mind map is a great idea, too often roguelikes can feel nebulous/directionless but this gives you a clear picture of what you've discovered and where you might want to explore next. Upgrade system likewise seems more generous than other games in the genre making each run feel more rewarding. Special mention to the large amount of costumes you can unlock to customize the Prince. Again, more games in the genre should have something similar.
So far so great then, still too early to say whether it will enter my roguelike GOAT list joining the likes of Dead Cells, Binding of Isaac, Rogue Legacy, Hades or Darkest Dungeon to name a few. A great deluge of games stands before me starting this Thursday/Friday with MGS Delta and Shinobi arriving and it only ramps up from there, not sure how much time I will have with it before then but I see myself returning it to it throughout the year in bursts until I finish (maybe even plat?) it.
Insight into the development of the game
I've had that same issue and I'm thinking it had to do with the quick resume feature on Xbox. Not sure if the PlayStation version has this issue. But yes it caused me to lose progress and the weapon I found hasn't shown up again yet.Another bug I found today. Last night, I had beaten 2 bosses and fought the final boss. After the 2nd boss, I had unlocked the blueprint for his weapon and max out the Skill tree points.
Today, the game asked me which save I wanted to use; cloud or local save. I decided to choose the latest one, assuming it would be the most progress.
Game loaded and I lost a skill tree point, the blueprint for the 2nd boss weapon and costumes I had unlocked via purple currency.
Went to the save menu and tried to load the save from there and still lost progress.
After every run, I just go to saves and duplicate that save. Make sure it's the latest and then load it to double check it has everything you unlocked.I've had that same issue and I'm thinking it had to do with the quick resume feature on Xbox. Might be OST of the year for me, and there's some very tough competition.
1. The Rogue: Prince of Persia
2. South of Midnight
3. Citizen Sleeper 2
The last boss wasn't the the hardest boss for me. It was the one that went up after each phase because my panic platforming sucks and I was getting more damage from rushing to get up than from the boss itself.lol, just beat the last boss on my first attempt but as with all roguelikes this is where the *real* game begins![]()
