Starts in 2 weeks, but episodes 1 & 2 are out now. If you see it in advance, at least do the show a favor and watch the actual broadcast and pick up some products from the advertisers that bought time.....the show needs some commercial upturn right now.

(no spoilers below, as long as you have seen all of season 3)

The premiere is kind of slow, and mostly it just spends time telling new viewers what has happened, and telling old viewers what has changed since last year's season finale. I must admit I did kind of need a recap about certain things (like why Claudette isn't being promoted to captain). It's six months later (in Shield-time) and it looks like the changes are going to be major and probably quite permanent....not like the last 3 years where there were seemingly big events but everything went back to normal quickly.

That said, the last scene is a bit of a shocker....and totally cool. Probably cooler than any single scene in any of the episodes from the third season. The revelation is not huge, but the way it plays out and the mood and the lighting and the music and the camera shots are all perfect.

I don't want to watch episode 2, since doing that would mean a long 4-5 week wait for new Shield episodes. But with Lost on hiatus, I might get desperate. =)

I just watched the season premiere. Wow. That ending scene is really fantastic. Glenn Close seems to be a great fit for the show. All of the characters seem to be in so much turmoil, this premiere seemed to be the freshest since the pilot in terms of where all of the characters are.

Can't wait. border, I don't things always reverted to normal after a season of disarray. The remnants were always visible when the next season started.

It'll be interesting to see how they work Aceveda(who's said to figure heavily in this season's arc) into the show considering he's out as captain.

I hope Vic wacks Lem for his treachery.

WTF. Where did you see the first episode at? on TV? Anyway, I'll post a wrap up about S3, and talk about all we need to know about S4 before March 15th.

Its available on Bittorrent listed as a DvD Screener.

Im waiting for the Tv Rips just as border says... i dont wanna wait weeks for the next ep.

I hope they do something to get rid of Shanes wife. Shes the bad cause of everything putting words into Shanes mouth. So is Glenn Close the new captain now? or just a new detective?

I'd rather they whack that fucking cancer Shane. That jackass is NOTHING but problems, add his wife into the mix, and it's just a ricockulous mess. I've never liked him. He occasionally does something to get into my good graces, but for the most part, I could take or leave that asshole.

But I'd rather have the show stay somewhat realistic, as opposed to Vic killing everyone. It's pretty much my favorite TV show ever, I've been watching since the first episode. With Aceveda moving on, I think that they have to try extra hard to keep the chemistry and interactions between characters at a super high quality, which is what makes the show great.

Shane was a lame fuckup even before his wife came along. He's kind of cool now though (after first episode of Season 4)...

Shane has been a problem since season 1. He's fucked up so many times. I hate that hillbilly bastard. Tavon was an awesome character.

P.S. I hear one of the episodes for S4 is "Tar Baby." at theshieldfans.com, they're speculating, along with someone saying they have sources saying Mara's baby is actually Tavons.

Oh man, the second episode was sooooo much better than the first. Shane is a fuckin badass! I can't wait to see how Vic's gonna handle him.

Shanes had his moments.

When Vic got shot he was about to rape that Gangster whore who kept tempting him, and he got the location where he was at.

You dont know what you missed darlin !

& the Cock Fightin ep with him and lem :lol

First episode of Season 3 wasn't that great, either, but the season turned out fucking lovely. This one was pretty okay, it was just kind of re-setting the scene. I'm fuckin' pumped for the rest of the season.

And yeah, Shane's a hillbilly piece of shit. Fuck that guy.

What's the quality of the screeners like? Unfinished or does it look like what will actually air?

Just like on TV, but without the FX logo. So, it's nice DVD-rip quality.

the shield started recently on finnish tv and i watched the first episode, which was, some fo the worst tv i have ever seen.

yet.

i see GAFers raving about the show, did the producers find their feet and start to turn out a good series by Season2, 3... or do you guys see season 1 as the golden age?

If you didn't like the first episode, you won't like the show. They're all the same. It's not the greatest show, but it's entertaining.

Wrong. The Shield IS the greatest show.

Sorry for the bump from the dead but get the Shield 3 on DVD. Now. I didn't like Season 3 at first but after watching it again, I like it a lot more, especially the last episode. I still think the 2nd Season is the best and will probably always be the best.

Templar Wizard, it could be a culture thing - I didn't like it (that much) either. After the hype and watching the first ep, I was like "this was it?" I don't think it's a bad show and I might watch it occasionally if I had time but there's just something missing.

I must admit that some of the scenes have been like "didn't see that coming", which is always nice.

I'm holding off until their broadcast.. dont want to have to go longer than normal without episodes once it starts. The Shield is tied with 24 for the best show on TV in my opinion... I absolutely cannot wait until March 15th. :)

Don't forget people, season 4 airs tonight. Just a reminder, I hope the first episode isn't as bad as everyone says. I need a recap on the show anyway.
