The Simpsons |OT2| It's a pornography thread- We were posting pornography

what are they talking about here?

Correct... although in THAT particular episode, the character artist didn't bother to consider the fact that their son was 60 years old and that they should be aged accordingly.

Bearing in mind that they've seemed to have dropped that aspect as of recent. There was a scene in the beginning of a recent episode which takes place in the early '80's and you can clearly see kid Flanders right there, in front of the city hall.

The problem is he looks so young so the writers probably forget his age all the time.
Oh, and if he was 60 in a 1999 episode, he was born in 1939. If you assume time doesn't pass so everyone is still the same age as in 1987, he was born in 1927. He could have been drafted for World War II in 1945.

That no-good draft dodger. Typical son of a beatnik he is.
Lucky for him time course corrects in the Simpsons universe (provided you live in Springfield) so now he was born in 1955.

Abe served a Captain Flanders during World War II according to Simpsons Wikia, so the beatnik might have killed people.

Alone Again, Natura-diddily is on television, and it is really funny to see Edna is one of his failed dates with Skinner being on the phone all the time.

WELL FECK IT! Sky 1 is now officially showing the ruined HD episodes of classic Simpsons. All in their cropped, DNR'd, edge enhanced glory. If there's anything that could get me to stop watching the episodes, it's that. Both because of less image area and because the whole thing makes it more claustrophobic in my eyes.

Canal Fox in Latin America has been airing those for a while now. Not only is the image awfully cropped, but a lot of them seem to have audio issues when watching them dubbed to Spanish, like certain background noises being completely muted.

Sigh. I wish something could be done about this. But I'm only...one man.

I looked at the TV guide, and it seems like they're still showing some of the old SD episodes, so it seems like this one is going out in waves.

I want to find whichever executive thought it would be a great idea to crop the classic era into an unwatchable mess while denying anyone that wants a complete physical collection of episodes on DVD/BluRay and sic Gentle Ben on them.

Now Marge, just remember, if something goes wrong at the plant, blame the guy who can't speak English. Ah, Tibor, how many times have you saved my butt?

I need to watch all the classic episodes in English someday. Mostly watched the show dubbed but I recognize all the quotes so I guess the French translation was on point!

Lisa, if the Bible has taught us anything else, and it hasn't, it's that girls should stick to girl sports, like hot oil wrestling, foxy boxing, and such-and-such.

Also, Mr. Smithers' car has no windshield.

Whoa, what?
Tonight's episode was the last episode in the Season 26 production run. Since Sam Simon likely died before he could sign for Season 27, he can't be credited as an Executive Producer anymore.

His "Developed by" credit at the beginning of every episode will remain forever on the show (I'm guessing this also applies to his "Original Character Design" credit in the closing credits).

Oh that's right, I forgot about his passing.
