I consider Homer at the Bat one of the funniest episodes of television ever, in terms of laughs per minute. Here's some gifs I made of it:

God bless Sam Simon for that great idea and John Swartzwelder for writing it

Has anyone here read The Simpsons: An Uncensored, Unauthorised History? I'm about a third of the way in and I'm not sure, really. It clearly wants to dig up dirt but the history is really dependent on who to believe, and therefore I never feel any closer to the truth. One person says Matt is in the right, one person says Sam Simon is in the right, and then the book moves on. Basically the strength of the book - quoted from those involved in the show - also proves to be its weakness due to a lack of corroboration on anything.

Does anyone have an image (or YT link) of the scene where Lisa asks directions from a couple of Russians playing chess? I can find the episode details, but no shots or video of that scene.

Just finished watching Homie the Clown, one of my favorites.

Why do you think we watched all of those Police Academy movies? FOR FUN!? Well I didn't hear anyone laughing.

Rewatching some episodes this summer, I have come to the conclusion that Krusty and Burns are my favorite characters while Grandpa is my most hated.

that's funny, apart from his golden moments I used to have a hard time enduring him too. I guess he just sparked some of the cheaper jokes. but nowadays I just embrace his old man gibberish.

The issue of women in the Simpsons never occurred to me until I played Tapped Out. But yeah, the fact that the only non-paywall women in that app are Marge and Krabappel reflects rather badly on the show. Yeah, they could add Patty and Selma, but after that?

I'd just like to share something I just discovered, possibly way late to the game.

The Season 9 episode, Bart Star. Homer goes to the Kwik-E-Mart, asking for beer with candy floating in it - Skittlebrau. Just seemed silly to a lot of people, I'm sure.

Turns out that, if a 19th century Englishman wanted to remind someone that life isn't only about leisure and self-enjoyment, they would say "you know, life's not all beer and skittles".

Clever little writers, them.

He secretly loved Marge from around 1970 and finally had an excuse to use the address he had looked up years ago, longing for her word.

The Simpsons' to get a Lego series

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — Want to build a new home for Homer or try out a new hairstyle for Marge?

Danish toy company Lego on Monday confirmed it will launch a special series themed on "The Simpsons" family globally in 2014.

Lego spokesman Roar Rude Trangbaek wouldn't give any details about what characters would be included, but said the company hopes the series will "appeal to fans of 'The Simpsons' family."

Lego, a privately held Danish company, has seen its sales soar in recent years after it started making series based on popular movies such as "Star Wars" and "Ninjago."

"The Simpsons" has been on the air for 22 years, becoming the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program and a cultural phenomenon with colleges devoting courses to studying it.
