The Simpsons |OT2| It's a pornography thread- We were posting pornography

Hands-down, the greatest scene I have ever seen in all my years of watching the show.

Watching Bart vs. Thanksgiving.

You ever notice in the early seasons, they seem less sitcom-ey and more into the drama side of things.

Also, you ever notice the "massage" parlour on the other side of the tracks when Bart and Santa's Little Helper look for food?

The holiday event for Simpsons Tapped out looks neat. This is the first one since I started playing. Looking forward to it.

Warming Glow: All 25 Seasons Of ‘The Simpsons,’ Ranked

Worth a read. I only quoted part of the emblematic parts. And it has lists of guest stars.

25: Season 24
Best Episode: “The Day the Earth Stood Cool”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Moonshine River”
because it brought back characters from post-golden era seasons that even hardcore fans would have trouble recalling.

24: Season 25
Best Episode: “Homerland”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Homerland”
because season 24 was THAT bad.

23: Season 20
Best Episode: “Lisa the Drama Queen”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Homer and Lisa Exchange Cross Words”
“Lisa the Greek,” it ain’t.

22: Season 22
Best Episode: “MoneyBART”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Flaming Moe”
Moe’s Tavern has gone through as many changes as Comic Book Guy has tacos in a wheelbarrow.

21: Season 15
Best Episode: “The President Wore Pearls”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “I, (Annoyed Grunt)-Bot”
because BattleBots was popular in 2001. This episode aired in 2004.

20: Season 21
Best Episode: “Thursdays with Abie”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “The Greatest Story Ever D’ohed”
because there’s no reason the Simpsons had to visit Israel.

19: Season 23
Best Episode: “The Book Job”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “The Book Job”
Negative points for the 43,583 guest stars, through.

18: Season 19
Best Episode: “Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “That ’90s Show”
because if you want to watch two Simpsons fans fight, ask them what they think of “That ’90s Show.”

17: Season 17
Best Episode: “My Fair Laddy”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “We’re on the Road to D’ohwhere"
because it’s right in the middle of The Simpsons most middle-of-the-road season.

16: Season 18
Best Episode: “Moe’N'a Lisa”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Rome-old and Juli-eh"
because the instance someone decided that Grampa should fall in love with Selma, “They’ll Never Stop The Simpsons” became prophetic.

15: Season 14
Best Episode: “How I Spent My Strummer Vacation”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Barting Over”
because this was The Simpsons‘ 300th episode, a milestone South Park STILL hasn’t reached and King of the Hill never did.

14: Season 16
Best Episode: “Don’t Fear the Roofer”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “There’s Something About Marrying”
because unlike “Homer’s Phobia,” which beautifully dealt with the topic of homosexuality, this episode yearned to be a HOT TAKE.

13: Season 13
Best Episode: “The Blunder Years”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Jaws Wired Shut”
because that boner joke still hurts.

12: Season 11
Best Episode: “Behind the Laughter”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Kill the Alligator and Run”
because this was the year where everything began to fall apart.

11: Season 12
Best Episode: “A Tale of Two Springfields”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Tennis the Menace”
because this episode was meant as a
“screw you,”
to quote writer Ian Maxtone-Graham, to viewers.

10: Season 9
Best Episode: “The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “The Principal and the Pauper”
because, oh boy. Tens of thousands of all-uppercase words have been angrily written about Armin Tamzarian, which is unfair to season nine as a whole.

9: Season 1
Best Episode: “Moaning Lisa”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Moaning Lisa"
is the first masterpiece for the eventual-greatest sitcom of all-time.

8: Season 10
Best Episode: “Homer to the Max”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Sunday, Cruddy Sunday”
because it’s a very good episode that should have been a disaster.

7: Season 2
Best Episode: “Lisa’s Substitute”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Lisa’s Substitute”
because *begins crying*. In season two, The Simpsons was still very much a “normal” sitcom about a family…that just so happened to be yellow.

6: Season 3
Best Episode: “Homer at the Bat”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Stark Raving Dad”
It’s heartfelt, but not saccharine and always funny, which goes for the entirety of the season, too.

5: Season 8
Best Episode: “You Only Move Twice”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “The Itchy & Scratchy & Poochie Show”
Even the highly controversial “Homer’s Enemy,” a turning point of the series for many, got away with turning Homer into an asshole, because the script was tight enough to allow him to be.

4: Season 7
Best Episode: “Summer of 4 Ft. 2″
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “The Simpsons 138th Episode Spectacular”
And that’s how you go from “I’m Troy McClure, and I’ll leave you with what we all came here to see: hardcore nudity!” to “Milhouse, do you ever worry that your mom might stop loving you?”

3: Season 6
Best Episode: “Homer Badman”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Who Shot Mr. Burns? (Part One)”
because I’m running out of ways to say how great The Simpsons is and this feels like An Episode That Matters.

2: Season 5
Best Episode: “Homer Goes to College”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Homer and Apu”
because The Simpsons was experimenting with unusual pairings and turning previously undeveloped Springfield citizens into fan favorite main characters

1: Season 4
Best Episode: “Last Exit to Springfield”
Most Emblematic Episode of the Season As a Whole: “Last Exit to Springfield”
because every line is perfect, just as every episode from season four is perfect. TV at its best.

That season rankings list is pretty on-the-nose. Pegged the top seasons in order. Properly cited Season 23 as the best of the HD era due to Holidays of Future Passed and The Book Job.
Even has a number of the the best episodes of each season properly called out. I'm quite impressed.

Incidentally he highlighted Season 16 as the best season since the first 13 and that's the season released on BluRay & DVD this year.

I can't believe they said “Sunday, Cruddy Sunday" is a good episode. I always thought it was pretty awful, even when held to the low standards of season 10.

The Guillermo del Toro directed couch gag intro to this years Halloween episode was just posted on Fox Animation's YouTube page, and shockingly (no, really), it's actually funny. I know it's taboo to discuss anything past season 10 in this thread, but this is probably the loudest I laughed at a modern Simpsons gag in years.

This is why we have the Season 25 thread. To not upset the locals.

GET. OUT.
Did ya watch it before shoving me, Elaine Benes?

But seriously, I feel this should be the sole exception on the virtue of actually having humour. Hell, it looks like it even have some obscure references that seemed to go over my head.

Ed. to above guy: Which is why I brought it here. For them to see it and judge for themselves. They're not gonna see it otherwise if we have a separate thread about how much this season is going to suck.

I really liked Season 16 a lot, myself.
Quoting myself from 2000-and-frickin-7:
Along with There's Something About Marrying (Springfield legalizes gay money... err, marriage), this season had Midnight Rx (Homer smuggles drugs from Canada), Goo Goo Gai Pan (Selma adopts a baby girl from China), The Heartbroke Kid (Bart goes to fat camp), and the token "crowd of guest stars" episode, Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass.

LeBron James: Omelets? For dinner? This is the best day of my life!
Lisa: Didn't you just sign a $90 million dollar contract?
LeBron: That was a good day too.
Meanwhile I couldn't stand Season 14.

"Thank you Mr. Simpson. *pecks cheek* It looks so much better. A beautiful sky blue."

ibpNE1SF9owWlh.gif

The Hilton just off the highway where I lived used to be that same sky blue color. They painted it 3 years ago. I always assumed it was for the same reason.
There was a gag where Edna was adjusting her chair and pointing her ass out. If I was Bart I would have had a huge crush on her after that.

How is "Holidays of Future Passed" not the top episode of season 23? It's the best episode of the show in nearly 15 years.

The Book Job is really good. I would rate Holidays of Future Passed as the most impactful ep in the past decade but you can make a genuinely strong argument that The Book Job is better. I have no problem with it being ranked above it in a subjective list.

Now if they had of ranked a different Season 23 ep above both Holidays and Book Job, there'd be hell to pay.

Also disagree about season 10. “The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson” would be forgotten by everyone if not for the Twin Towers scenes.

I dunno, I've always felt that this scene has some of the best sight gags in the show (the way the pimp runs always gets a chuckle out of me).

Plus it had the crab juice guy, and he was so good they brought him back in a later ep.

I saw this recently and I couldn't stand it. Shit bummed me out, and it wasn't really that funny. Plus I felt it went overboard with the Matrix gags.

The holiday photos scene was brilliant, though.

Watching Itchy and Scratchy and Marge, and I'm reminded about one post that someone made on the No Homers forum about how the episode is probably the deepest when it came to discussing a social issue (in this case, TV violence). I can't link to it at the moment, because I'm on my Vita, so I'll find it later.
