The Simpsons |OT2| It's a pornography thread- We were posting pornography

I am not an easy man to work for. While directing the Frogurt scene, I reduced more than one message board poster to tears. Did I expect too much from GAF members? The review, "Posts Enjoyed By All" speaks for itself.

Moe: Hey, Homer! Way to get Marge pregnant.

Homer: This is getting very abstract, but thank you: I do enjoy working at the bowling alley.

Edit: Damn, that really sucks about Marcia Wallace. Loved her work on the show.

As was pointed out in the RIP Marcia Wallace thread, Edna is NOT the mystery character that's going to die.

But they will retire the character in some way. From the Simpsons facebook.

I was tremendously saddened to learn this morning of the passing of the brilliant and gracious Marcia Wallace. She was beloved by all at "The Simpsons" and we intend to retire her irreplaceable character.

Earlier we had discussed a potential storyline in which a character passed away. This was not Marcia's Edna Krabappel. Marcia's passing is unrelated and again, a terrible loss for all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Sad news about Marcia Wallace. I watched this video earlier and you can tell just how old she is in the later seasons.

Sounds totally different from about 40 seconds onwards to the voice she used in the show's heyday. Also, all of the later scenes in that video are fucking terrible.

Has this been posted before? http://www.supajam.com/news/story/S...ch-Breaking-Bad-instead#.Uk4DQ2kHpLJ.facebook It's an interview with Groening from earlier this month in which he practically admits that the show is garbage and has been for a long time. An interesting read.

It's cool to reach 1,000 episodes or whatever we're at; but truthfully, I haven't watched the show regularly in about 15 years

I did see the episode where it was in the '90s, and Homer fronts this Nirvana-type band. God, those were awful. I hope someone got fired over that.

I don't know why Fox keeps renewing it. The jokes aren't good, the storylines are a mess and episodes are forgettable. I think the staff and co-creators agree. But the money keeps rolling in and Fox says we're better than ever, so what do you do?

KBBL is actually the name of the radio station?

Does anyone have a link to that expansive essay about the downfall of The Simpsons, with all the stuff about writers and other talent moving on to other parts of the business?

I'm pretty certain that story is fake (the Matt Groening one, obviously). If that was the case, then why isn't it reported elsewhere?

Willie: Brothers and sisters are natural enemies! Like Englishmen and Scots! Or Welsh and Scots! Or Japanese and Scots! Or Scots and other Scots! Damn Scots! They ruined Scotland!
Skinner: You Scots sure are a contentious people.
Willie: You just made a powerful enemy!

It's total bullshit.

The linked article starts with "This might be one of my favourite interviews I've read in years", which implies that it isn't the original source. The original source would seem to be KBBL-TV, which would be an obvious joke if it wasn't intentional. Also, if it's TV, how did this guy "read" it?

So I Googled a quote and found a site posting the exact same interview, several days earlier. The linked article copy-pasted and didn't link to it's source. Bad form.

Anyways, here's the original.

There's an episode called "Mona Leaves-a". Along with "Moaning Lisa" in Season 1 and "Moe'N'a Lisa" in Season 18, how many puns on "Mona Lisa" can they make? They did this too with "Million Dollar Abie" in Season 17 and "Million Dollar Maybe" in Season 21.

Actually, there's an episode called "Loan-a-Lisa" in Season 22.

Does anyone else find it suspicious that Sky 1 is showing 3 Edna Krabappel focused episodes in a row, today? I'm not really the one who's a fan of exploiting someone's death and all that, you know.

Did they make a big deal about advertising that there will be these episodes, or did you flip on the channel and see those episodes were on?
