Somebody explain to me like I'm an idiot. Wasn't there a movie called suicide squad recently? Is this a remake of that movie? What's the deal?

Gunn gets under my skin and I don't think I could possibly care less about anything than a shitty sequel to arguably the lamest 'team" ever put together for 'edgy' comic nerds, but I am glad to hear that he went about things this way... even if it is for a movie like this. For as much as CG can and does replace anything nowadays, practical & tangible things like sets, costumes, backgrounds, even explosions always look far better than their make-believe CGI counterparts. The brain somehow can still always tell the difference.

Heh, this is the same thing that made me go from adoring the Russo brothers to almost resenting them a bit. The Winter Soldier looked so good because of the amount of practical sets & effects used due to its lower-then-most-MCU-movies budget, and I loved these guys for their approach to it. Fast forward to Infinity War and especially Endgame, and they got as out of control as prequel era George Lucas did with their "we can just do that in CG" with goddamn EVERYTHING like he did... subsequently making it all look like a live action cartoon.

I wish far more of these movies dialed it back on the CG, comic book based or not. Clearly it CAN be done... and done well in the right hands.

Gunn is extremely talented and I’m not just talking the GotG movies, you should check out the Belko Experiment.

One of the best action movies since Die Hard 1 IMO.

Love the poster and aesthetic (smart to not mimic the 80's vibe of GotG, though the OG Suicide Squad kind of already did lol) looking forward to this...

Can we PLEASE...

1 have them act like villains and not heroes this time...

2 Avoid the generic "oh noes" evil portal in the sky"

3 Keep the dark humor of the comics, completely missing in the first film...

I have faith Gunn can get it down...

I think he said like half the cast dies in this movie..... I am expecting the B team to wipe on a mission early in the film and the bigger stars to go in after

You do realise that Winter Soldier cost up to 177 million to make yeah? And are you forgetting it's CGI laden final act with the 3 heli-carriers?

They got my money for the first movie and it was one of the worst movies I have seen in decades. And knowing that Gunn and Davidson are both attached there is no way in hell I am ever seeing this.

Sorry they lost their shot. They should have made a better first movie.

Skipped the last few DC movies (except Joker) but I'll give this one a try since it's Gunn. Liked almost everything he's involved with that I've seen starting with Slither way back when.

I don't understand the hype for James Gunn. Has he made anything good other than GOTG1? And even that was pretty much a cheese fest.

meh. I think its nuts that they are greenlighting a sequel to a 25% rotten movie they butchered, but wont release a sequel to a 25% rotten movie they butchered.

still cant believe they are launching this movie day 1 on hbo max. this is gonna blow up in their face.
