Baron Aloha
A Shining Example
The second season wrapped last night. I was pretty appalled at the last season and I stopped watchin after a few episodes. Nevertheless I found myself watching it from start to finish this season. Don't get me wrong, its still pretty superficial but I think this season went a long way (compared to last season) towards really trying to help these women instead of just using them.
For example, one of the women from this season was deaf and they were able to give her a new type of hearing aid. She was one of the first people in the country to get it and as a result she was able to hear things for the first time since she was a child.
Another woman was burned in a horrible fire when she was a young girl and she had scars that covered most of her body. They were able to eliminate most of the scars on her face, neck, and other parts of her body via plastic surgery.
I don't know. The whole pageant thing still bugs me but I thought it was nice of them to help out a few women who actually needed the help instead of just women who simply let themselves go. Swan 3 seems inevitable at this point. I hope that all of the women they choose are like the two women I mentioned above. For me at least, that would justify the show's existance in some way.
