hmmm iphone 6+ just randomly crashed and restarted. 1st of the week :p

Really curious how bad android is these days when ios is considered 'problem free' when its been a buggy mess since ios 7.

Only complaint with my iPhone 6 is the camera. It somehow is worse than my 4S, which took incredibly crisp photos. The 6 adds some sort of watercolor-ish looking blur to edges and everything. Some photos will look great, some look awful. It's weird. Lots of people having this issue as well. Hopefully they'll fix it in a software update.

Since this is kinda turning into a general phone thread, I'll ask here.

Any news on the HTC Hima? That device looks (from rumors) to be the phone to switch me from the iPhone to an Android device.

Before you go crazy rooting/hacking/etc., consider a light modification first. My rule of thumb whenever I have a fresh Samsung device is to install Google Now Launcher, Google Keyboard, Google Keep and Gmail(?).

About 5 minutes of just installing a few apps goes a long way to making it more usable.

Insane For Sony
Actually, I wanna add- I miss the cute emoticons I had in hangouts with my Nexus 5. Also, the phone felt snappier than my iPhone 6 does.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I use both in parallel every day non-stop, for work. In no way does N5 feel snappier than Iphone 6. Although, it doesn't feel less snappy either. They both hardly ever skip a beat. The screen quality and brightness of iphone 6 screen destroys that of N5 though.

Iphone5 has been the most problem-prone phone I've owned. Crashes pretty regularly.
I've owned one for two years, used it as my primary phone very heavily, and I can't remember if it ever crashed. There were a few times in those two years that certain apps would crash back to home screen, but that was it.

The problems the iPhone 6 has is that it needs to be jailbroken to be more useful (I like the File system from Android) and it's a bit pricey (though it's in very high demand).

Other than the problems that I presented, I wish that I have gotten an iPhone 6 Plus 64GB instead of Oneplus One. I believe the iPhone 6 Plus to be the greatest phone you can buy.

I'm using an iPhone 6 plus for over a week now and the battery life amazes me everyday.

I unplugged it today at 07:00 and still rocking 30% after of Web surfing on WiFi and 3G, playing games for around 1.5 hour and listing to Spotify almost all day.

Also it's interesting how fast I got used to this size.

Get the 64GB. You will only have 12GB when you choose the 16GB one.

I don't understand why touchwiz seems so hated

Convoluted and over-engineered. Also the UI palette isn't doing it any favors. Note 4 is taking the right steps, but it's still bad.

There is a reason this is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more common than it should be:
"I'm going to try a droid phone"
*Proceeds to buy a Samsung*
"WOW this blows compared to my iOS experience, Android sucks"
*Purchases an iPhone 6*
"Wow this is so much better, I'm going to go tell everyone about my experience now"

However you feel about it, this is the reality. And it's pretty sad, considering Nexus phones offer what they're looking for.
"Nexus what? No thanks, I'm getting a Samsung because that's what I saw in the commercial and everyone has one".

I don't hate it, but it's really hard to recommend it to converts. I only recommend it when people want specific Note 4 features.

I had an iPhone 4 since 2010 (so: almost 3.5 years), finally upgraded to a 6 just this week. I've been very happy with it. What can you say? It's got a bigger screen, it's a little thinner, battery life seems better too. It's basically exactly what I wanted from a new iPhone.

I've been impressed while messing around with my friend's iPhone 6s a bit. I'm still rocking my iPhone 4 until I can get a free upgrade.

I'd argue Sony phones are the closest thing to an iPhone alternative in the Android space. They look awesome, the UI is very unintrusive, they have the waterproof thing but they keep making them obsolete before people even get a chance to own one for 6 months. It's absurd. I loved my Xperia S "flagship" until they basically crippled it with an update then abandoned it months later without a word. Those fuckers. IMO it's a shame Samsung's phones get all the attention.

It isn't. Touchwiz is pretty easily negated with a custom launcher, and I think the infamous lag is something only a power user could really complain about. Despite the flaws it has, it also does some things exceptionally well, particularly multitasking. It also has features suited to larger displays, where your 6+ and nexus 6 are pretty much big versions of smaller designs. My only complaint is the cartoony icons and art style, which you can easily change.

i think we can all agree that specs are overrated and its the intangibles such as user experience, branding, and hardware design that put one phone ahead of another.

Got a iPhone 6 64GB today and I'm loving it (Had a 4s before, about time I upgraded).
Soon as I got home, I jailbroke it and installed and bunch of apps to make more "android like".

Love my iPhone6, but some qualms:

- Copying pics from app to app sucks in iPhone (save a pic to Pocket, then try to copy paste into a text)
- iTunes is awful
- iMessage randomly doesn't work, so I don't get some texts from other people
- iCloud is annoying, you have to pay for more space
- The notifications dash is awkward and annoying. I preferred not having it.
- They removed scroll left to search. No idea why.

Fact: People who complains about TouchWiz have not used TouchWiz in the past year.

TouchWiz on my Note 4 is just as fast if not more responsive than Lollipop 5.0.1 on my Nexus 5. Google made some really dumb decisions with Lollipop IMO, aka, no silent mode and the horrible iOS like in-app notification, the fuck?

TekGryphon seems to have taken a hiatus from this thread, nothing to see here.

Seems he's moved onto another area that requires his extreme technical expertise and his passion to protect consumers from companies that are profitable: vacuums!

The thread is soemwhere in off topic, you can search for it ;D

I got an iPhone 6+ this weekend, and I'm having major syncing issues with iTunes. It took 3 iPhone resets to get some of my audio files to transfer... Brand new mac mini too!

have you upgraded to iTunes 12.1? supposedly includes some iTunes sync improvements.
