I am just waiting for the typical stupid part after, where after Diaz gets tooled and various facial bones get rebuilt and reconstructed when he tries to play nice after the fight with his tail between his legs.
I would like for just once a fighter to be honest after the fight.

Nah playboy, GSP is gonna be apologetic after the fight for not fighting as good as he could've have and grinding out another decision instead of finishing and Diaz is gonna be fired up at the judges for not counting his punches from the guard for anything.

Diaz is probably one of my favorite fighters and most inspiring. The triathlon shit he does is another level. When he is interviewed its hard to listen without cringing, not sure if its add or what? Hes smart as hell, but not book smart. The primetime special with him and condit really inspired and pumped me up for that fight but of course was a letdown. Nothing against GSP, hes a great fighter/athlete as well but it would be such a great underdog story if diaz won. Love his style, but he needs to learn from the condit fight, and his brother losing to bendo, that you need to up your wrestling defense and check leg kicks or risk more losses. His ground game is extremely high level, I think he should be more active in that area, and show everyone how exciting a black belt like him can be.

Listen to the conference call. Nick has demonstrated nothing but empathy and respect for Georges, who in response could only offer juvenile and pedantic insults, terrified that someone would be willing to reach through the corporate focus-group tested facade that has cocooned and digested his soul. Nick knows he's likely going to be taken down and GnP'd for 5 rounds, but he is willing to take the fight to represent his art and entertain both fans and haters alike. If you want honesty, hope for Georges to stop walking out in his gi. No-one who demonises and mocks those less fortunate than himself and promises to beat them down because they 'deserve' it can honestly claim to be a martial artist.

The gi and hachimaki. Last guy he sub'ed was Matt Hughes 5 yrs ago. So I gotta go with the true jitsu, Diaz

Edit: and who's the last guy he Kyokushin'ed ? (If im using that verb correctly)

That was probably Hughes as well. We relive that left high kick at the start of every PPV, a bittersweet reminder of a time before a small part of Gordon Gecko attached itself to Georges' mind and convinced him that winning at all costs (both in the cage and in the public arena) was worth his soul as a martial artist.

GSP's Twitter Handler said:
Drove back from NYC in my car like I used to do a few years ago… Good ride, lots of things to think about, felt good.

Most of the tweets are quotes or shout-outs to sponsors, but this one is just weird.

GSP would fail the Voight-Kampff test.
Haha. What if, after the Serra loss, the shadowy business conglomerate behind GSP decided that human emotions were too much of a weakness for their product to posess any longer and replaced him with a simplified replicant, secure in the knowledge that a vast apparatus could be constructed to control his public image and keep their terrible secret hidden deep within a dark place?

GSP "dark place" is the cryogenic chamber where they keep the androids.

love on your sleeve
Really shocked anyone though that twitter account was actually GSP. It's nothing but by the numbers PR stuff.

Why is a Ben Henderson fan trying to clown another fighter for not finishing?

Bodog has GSP at -500 and Diaz at +350. Yikes.

A tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the sun .. but you're not helping GSP. Why are you not helping?
Dan 'Ardee is flailing on his back, completely defenseless and open to an armbar submission. But you're not able to finish him. Why is that?

GSP's 'andlers have discovered after numerous focus groups that his core pay-per-view purchasing fan base, predominantly 18-34 year old affluent hockey moms and former karate students with asthma, found armbars to be too violent and barbaric.

He called George out plenty, dawg. Said he was scared. Said he didn't believe he wanted the fight. Said he wasn't really injured. Diaz is like that spoiled little brother who has mastered the art of Double Talk. He could learn a lot from George. It's too bad he comes across as such a petulant brat

Like I hypothesized in the other thread, GSP's boring fighting style dating back to the last 5 or 6 years was focus grouped to hell to sell the most merchandise to the unwashed masses. I'm tired of this uncharismatic, milquetoast, steroid abusing tool ruling over the 170# roost.

I thought it was made obvious after Nate Diaz graciously gave Donald Cerrone his hat after their fight that all this TV stuff is as sincere as Georges' post-fight apologies. Nick and Georges both know that neither believes the other is scared. Nick refrained from mocking GSP's transparent attempts at trying to seem edgy, saying you gotta do what you gotta do. Georges refused to retract his statement that Nick deserved to be beat down, even after Nick explained that as a true martial artist he doesn't wish that fate upon anybody, least of all Georges. But I guess because one side in this debate wears a suit, has no anxiety issues with public speaking and doesn't swear as much as Dana White it's obvious who the real bad guy is. C'est la vie homie.

Finally, it has been a long time since I was excited for an UFC fight. I am a part of team intelligence. GSP. Those against want the sport to be a bunch of brainless fighters that mindlessly brawl. Woooooo... GSP.

I bet if we looked in the first mma thread and looked for posts during the 2nd BJ fight you would notice a funny correlation between those going for BJ and those that hate GSP now.

Diaz will pummel GSP into a vegetable only to lose 49-46 due to takedowns and cage control despite outstriking & outgrappling him.

Condit outworks Hendricks for an easy 30-27 win.

Marquardt gets an uninspiring 29-28 win against a gassed Ellenberger.

Greg Jackson opens several new gyms and they all celebrate in Maui.
