It begins.......
Should get some enlightening previews soon I hope. The feature will be available this holiday on the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, where players will see their aggregated gaming library within the new Xbox full screen experience
Yeah, man. I can't wait to see how it stacks up. Not expecting miracles with v1.0 but some legitimate competition in that space will do wonders for everyone.Give me deep-dives, features and benchmarks.
Exactly, it feels like Microsoft don't want to give Steam any revenue by giving access to GP on steam, but in this precise case, Microsoft is the underdog and would highly benefit from doing it.I don't want steam on the Xbox pc app, I want gamepass on steam.
Have MS refused an offer to have GP on Steam? Seems like the sort of thing they would jump at.Exactly, it feels like Microsoft don't want to give Steam any revenue by giving access to GP on steam, but in this precise case, Microsoft is the underdog and would highly benefit from doing it.
Microsoft/Xbox store as is, isn't good enough.
When gaming on PC, Steam is where it's at. There is no other way around. Steam is always open ready to go, friend list opened. On the other hand, I can't recall the last time I opened Xbox app on PC. And when I do, I sigh.
Are sure it isn't Valve denying it? Microsoft was trying to get Game Pass on PlayStation and Nintendo.Exactly, it feels like Microsoft don't want to give Steam any revenue by giving access to GP on steam, but in this precise case, Microsoft is the underdog and would highly benefit from doing it.

They (MS, Valve) seem quite amicable at the moment. MS gains brownie point with gamers by giving access to Steam and Steam gets a 30% cut either way.Yeah, MS wouldn't be putting their games on Steam if they had that kind of beef with them.
I don't think we're privy to that, but common sense would say if Microsoft tried with Sony and Nintendo, then they almost certainly did with Valve. So they had an offer and refused. I'm surprised because you would think they would jump on the opportunity.
Yeah, I seem to recall comments from Steam during the Activision acquisition that they didn't need a contract with MS as they always kept their word with their agreements with them, or something along those lines. They (MS, Valve) seem quite amicable at the moment. If this friendliness continues down the line is anyone's guess.
Yeah, I remember that one. Very non-commital, but not hostile. Gloves might come off if the Store-Wars kick off at a later date.Yeah, I seem to recall comments from Steam during the Activision acquisition that they didn't need a contract with MS as they always kept their word with their agreements with them, or something along those lines.
I mean, maybe that was just their way of politely declining a formal agreement, lol

Really the only reason is that MS make their store inter-operate pretty shitily with everyone else. So even though their game launcher is the worst it might still be worthwhile making it your primary. Its like back in the streaming wars days where you would buy a Roku because it was the only one that could access all the different streaming services. And why exactly would you want to do that?

Technically you can add gamepass games to Steam but it is a pain in the ass. Compare that to how heroic launcher integrates Epic, GoG and Amazon into Steam. But that's not the case here. Far from it in fact.
Not to steam, they're about 20 years too lateEmbrace, extend, extinguish.
It won't work, MS.
Lmao, that headline.
Not clicking on your bait, tom warren. The one moron in the industry who would make Jez Corden and Colin Moriarty look like saints of Xbox and Playstation.

If that happens Valve should see it as an opportunity. MS trying to use Windows to manipulate the PC game market is literally why SteamOS exists.I don't care about this. Cool for the people who are 100% invested in the Xbox ecosystem but completely useless otherwise. My only fear is that they will force this crap somehow with their windows monopoly. As long as they don't do that I have no issues.
"So I don't have to use a launcher. I'll just have to use the other launcher. So much convenience."And why exactly would you want to do that?
