Shit. That's crazy. My brother was lucky to beat Covid-19. When it was still new to us he chose not to wear a mask. Eventually not wearing a mask or taking proper precautions caught up to him. For weeks he had a hard time breathing. Just doing light walks around the house caused him to struggle to breathe. He looked terrible when we video chatted with him. During short conversations it was clear it had problems catching a breath.
I don't know how people can take something that caused many people their lives lightly. I could understand early on when we didn't know much, but now people should know better.

It is crazy to be honest, i'm not much younger than that dude and about the same fitness level. I don't wear a mask, though I do use hand sanitiser whenever I can and wash my hands regularly.
I suppose, it's better to listen to the advice than to die from hubris
