The Walking Dead (Telltale) 400 Days DLC Out This Week

I'm so conflicted about buying this game. On the one hand, the first season was the best story ever in an interactive medium ever. I hold it dearly on a spot only deserved for the best works on film and literature. On the other hand, I'm terrified this 2nd season will ruin my memory of the 1st season because IMO there is no where they can go since pretty much every trope of the zombie genre was explored on the 1st season.

Is TT capable of striking gold twice and creating as great memorable of characters as Lee and Clementine. I have my doubts.

Good thing this isn't the secon season but just an extra 1.5-2 h episode that explores some new ideas and tells a side story :)

TWD is Steamworks, right? Does it have cloud saves? If I play 400 days on a different computer than the one I played season 1 on but the same steam account, will it still remember my save?

Tweeted telltale about it but no response.

It does have cloud saves. Don't worry.

Bonnie's story was my favorite, and I have a feeling these people will probably be in the main cast for season 2, or at least some of them.

That Bonnie episode was messed up. lol

Man I'm pumped for this. I had bought the first series for console but only played up until Episode 4 beginning then lost my save.

I got it on Steam through Humble Bundle and completed the last 2 episodes last week.

What kind of length is this supposed to be? I'd like to play it and complete before I head on vacation at the weekend.

Just finished the dlc. Short, but worth the price. 5 nice stories, and some good moments in there. Season 2 can't come soon enough.

Just finished the PS3 version.

Big disappointment.

Took me less than an hour, and since it is split into 10 minute segments, it feels even shorter than that. If you were to compare this to a chapter from the first 5 episodes, it might equal a fourth of one.

There's no gameplay, other than "hover over object to shoot/hit". Nothing really to explore in any of the limited environments. Thin characters, hackneyed "choice" moments, bad dialogue, and a broken stats system at the end (it was at 50/50 for every choice in the game?!?!).

And ultimately, the consequence of my character choices at the end, didn't make a lick of sense.

Ugh, obvious cash-grab.

When is this Walking Dead compilation + 400 Days arriving for PSVita (SCEA region)?

Didn't Sony hype this as a Vita priority (most outlets initially thought was Vita exclusive) during the E3 press conference, if so: why is it arriving later than everywhere else?!?

Vita version comes sometime next month (august) according to PSblog.

Seems like you went in with an agenda or had no idea how the previous TWD episodes played.

My agenda was to have as much fun as I did with the previous chapters.

I have an idea how the previous episodes played, because I played the previous episodes.

Holy crap, this game doesn't waste time in making you commit to an uncomfortable choice.

Only made the first "significant" choice in Chel's campaign.
I freaking knew I shouldn't have let that guy go. I'm going into this game in Last of Us Mode. No mercy.

How can you say that if you haven't actually played it for yourself?

I know where Vashetti is coming from. I shouldn't have called it a cash-grab, but I'm cynical. That was just asking for hyper-defensive backlash.

I truly was disappointed though, and disappointment requires some level of anticipation.

I think it was a failed experiment in offering bite sized chunks of story, is all. It all felt too rushed and insignificant.

Vashetti's right, though. It had just as much "gameplay" parts as any other Walking Dead episode. It was about two hours long, and I can tell you no other episode was four times as long as this one. The stat system never works right away. (It needs to actually collect data first, shockingly.)

Goreomedy's post sounds like it's from someone who played their first ever Walking Dead episode and didn't like it.

Two hours? As long as we're assuming things about each other, at what point did you pause the game to take a 40 minute shit?

No way can an honest player say this has equal set-pieces/puzzles (any at all?)/development/gravity as the other chapters. It was limited by its very nature. If you can still have fun with it, all the power to you.

And yes, stats always worked on release day.

At no point. I just took my time with it, as I always do with The Walking Dead episodes. It was two hours. I know because I texted my friend when I started and when I finished and I checked the timestamps. And yes, I can honestly say this had as many non-dialogue-choice gameplay segments as the other episodes, if not more.

And either you never finished a Walking Dead chapter a few hours after it released, or your memory is completely fucked, which would honestly explain a lot.

That was pretty good, I liked it. Don't really care that it was short, it was a nice way to bridge the gap between seasons.

Also I am pretty sure that the settlement (some of) the characters are going to will be the focal point for at least some of Season 2. Not sure if it's Woodbury, I kind of hope they don't go to that particular well.

First time I've ever had a real problem with the game. :(

Just re-downloaded everything (move from an old PS3) and I figured my save probably wouldn't work, but I downloaded it from the online storage anyway,

Booted up the game, says the save is corrupted. Okay whatever.

But the game doesn't even start up. :( I get the first couple of screens, up to the Telltale and Skybound (I think that's the name) Presents screen, and then it goes to "saving..." And then black and nothing else.

Any ideas? :( I deleted the "corrupted" save file, and still is the same.

Sorry if this been asked before, how long is this dlc?

As long as eps 1-4, or abit short like eps 5?

It's on the short side. You can probably expect 15-25 minutes per storyline, and then a little before and after. So 2 hours is probably a safe bet.

Don't let that scare you off. The storytelling is good and I'm pretty sure it lays some groundwork for season 2.

Well that was interesting. Nice to have different perspectives and how all the events tie together and having a single location being a constant.

Like the references to what happened to some side characters from season 1.

Watching the credits roll now. Man, I really hope that this isn't
leading to Woodbury. We all know how that ends, especially if you've read the books.

That was a nice little piece of content, took me around 75 minutes to complete. Well worth the $5 if played through season one.

Question; did anyone unlock the
"Reunited", found an old friend,
trophy? If so, how did you earn it? Somehow I didn't get that one and it's the only one I'm missing.

You didnt play Season 1 all the way through

I platinumed it, just like anyone else who played all the way through.

Edit: About the trophy,
looks like I was supposed to have Roland hide from Nate's truck. Then I would have seen Carly or Doug's dead body and unlocked the trophy. Instead, I had Roland stand his ground.

Reflecting more on the DLC, I'd say it's almost essential as it obviously
sets up the personalities of the group as they go into the second season.
I didn't replay any of season one, but I might replay 400 Days to see a different outcome.

Try to remove the cache by deleting the game from "Game Data Utility" under "Game" in the XMB. Otherwise maybe do that and remove everything of the game and just redownload it again without retrieving your save file.

It is weird that your save file does not work anyway. Unless it froze when it was trying to save or something.

It sounds more like it's leading to a community like the Alexandria Safe Zone to me.
