these Nintendo + Valve rumors sure are picking up steam.

I loved both EO games and a third for WiiU is on my most wanted list together with Eternal Darkness 2. Of course, better graphics are a given but I would like the overall production values to get a boost. Better and more evolved story (minor sci-fi or horror elements could work) and voice-acting would be nice. A menu system in the shape of some type of logbook would be a great fit for the new controller.

I would actually like the story to be centered mostly around photography. Seems like the perfect fit for the new controller. It could work both as the camera and a tool for photoediting. I would really love that seeing as even the limited photo-option in the Wii games was awesome.
Endless Ocean + Pokémon Snap + U pad.

I have a boner right now.

There's only been three 3D consoles before it. And GameCube unveiled without a Mario game. They showed it a few months before release at Spaceworld.

Well, the Wii U unveiled last year without a 3D Mario game, but there's still plenty of time for one to be shown a few months before release.
On Tuesday, for example

I think it's safe to say LEGO: Lord of the Rings is also coming to Wii U, even if the trailer doesn't mention any plateform...

Well to give him some credit, I imagine all future Lego Games will be coming to Wii-U at one point or another (considering they usually sell best on Nintendo consoles).

Valve on Wii U would be pretty crazy. Wonder what they could bring to the table with their incredible skills in nearly every sector.

On an unrelated note, any Endless Ocean fans here?
(preferably fans of EO2 which was all around better)

As a scuba diver as well as a fan of the games, it makes me happy that other people are excited about a third game in HD, but I fear it would be too similar to the first two unless significant changes are made to the formula.

Anyone here have good suggestions on what could be added to such a sequel to prevent it from just being a re-skin of Blue World? (aka Adventures of the Deep in Europe)

My fiancee and I are huge Endless Ocean fans. Cannot wait to see it in HD. As for changes, it could work as some sort of open world or MMO game I think.

I believe I read the idea on neogaf, but it would be neat also if Nintendo combined it's sports franchises (Wii Sports, Wave Race, Wii Fit, 1080) with Endless Ocean and Pilotwings Lite into an MMO. It'd be like going around Wuhu and being able to see people playing all the events, there could be start times for tournaments (lots of start times of course), player interactions, etc. It's probably too big a leap for Nintendo, but it'd be the only MMO I'd be willing to pay say $10 a month to have access to.

I'm not even going to humor such a rumor until I see it with my own eyes. My mind would go crazy with anticipation.

I will say though that if Biometric Feedback is brought back for Wii-U then I would say there is a possibility.

Note that it's not a rumour. It's just one of the CVG guys who's sure of his prediction.

Yep, it's just speculation, like every other mention of Valve and Nintendo in the same sentence. I wouldn't be all that surprised to see some Valve games ported to the Wii U (DOTA2, perhaps?), but anything that could be described as a "partnership" between Nintendo and Valve strikes me as over-optimistic.

So the Valve thing is just speculation from one of the CVG writers and nothing more?

Metal Gear Rising confirmed as a 2013 title only makes me want a Wii-U version even more. Could you imagine WiiMotion+ being used to determine what direction/angle you swing your sword? Or (more likely) using touch screen swipes on the U-Pad to make precise sword slashes?

Once again, I will disappointed if this delay does not equal a Wii-U version.

is Kojima working on this game? If so there may be enough reason to doubt that it will come as silly as that sounds

2013 games should be interesting to see who makes the cut into the WiiU library

The game isn't built around it. Really would be superficial.

In Endless Ocean 3 you will play in a fictional universe set in a mythical underwater world.

Your character will be a Merman/Mermaid researcher sent out to write a bestiary of the mythical sea creatures living in the seas.

You will be armed with a trident to fend off attacks but the game will feature mild peril like in EO2.

There may be a giant enemy crab.

I had another E3 dream last night. Nintendo held their conference outside in this giant field (it was more for a concert type place), and I got to go. But for some reason I was really not hyped and barely listened to it. All I remember is Reggie making jokes at the beginning and then I started talking to other people, not paying attention.

And then I had a sexy dream after that.

It must mean something.

I'll stand by it: seeing how Konami handles Metal Gear (Solid) games on Nintendo platforms, the chances for Metal Gear Rising to appear on Wii U are very, very slim.

Super Mario Bros.4

Believe.
Super Mario World? I can believe in that, it's sitting right next to my SNES IIRC (SMAS+SMW, specifically).

Valve rumor must be true! Imagine all the tears and whinning from gaf or pc crowd. Biggest meltdown in history xD
What're you talking about? I'm a member of both GAF and the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race™, and the only tears I'd shed would be tears of joy. The more people who can experience Valve goodness, the better!

That you're bored of video games and need to get laid?

This is the first time Nntendo has had a platform designed for easy ports/porting from, you can't base anything from the past. Although the GameCube got a MGS remake, remember, that was only last generation.

Wants the largest console games publisher to avoid Nintendo's platforms.
My sentence was quite correct, thankyouverymuch. The software would be encrypted with the console's individual public key and then signed by Nintendo's private key. Even though the former is held privately by Nintendo, it's still a public key as far as the terminology of asymmetric key cryptography is concerned. Once the console attempts to run the software it checks the signature against Nintendo's public key, and then decrypts with its own private key.
Ok, your rebuttal of my correction actually made me realize what the original point might have been.

While I've been thinking mainly in authentication terms, where having multiple key pairs for various parties is not a problem (and chains of trust are trivial to revoke), I did not think of the possibility that the decryptor in the unit might be capable of handling just a single key pair. Now that is a technical limitation that could be justified (i.e. that the decryptor was biased toward this particular unit, and only that unit), as some insurmountable link somewhere in the unit's DD crypto chain has to be, and the flash media decryptor is one such point (whereas the optical-medium path can, and should, be left unbiased).

Technically, nintendo could make the flash decryptor handle multiple key pairs, but they would have to make sure that for at least one of those, the private key lies with the decryptor (so they could use that pair for DD content purchased on the unit). But that would require a sound business justification : )

There was an MGS remake for Gamecube, but it was developed by SK and published by Nintendo (as far as I recall). Meanwhile, MGS 2 and 3 which came out on both PS2 and XBox, and which could have been ported to Gamecube, never appeared on them system. By all accounts Kojima has something against Nintendo, and Konami don't have the balls to go against him on it.

MGS3 did not come out on the XBOX.

also, p.s. KOJIMA IS THE GUY WHO APPROACHED SAKURAI ABOUT SNAKE BEING IN SMASH BROS. WHY WOULD HE HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST NINTENDO?!

From the official site:
About the Game

Follow Jett Tailfin and his best friends as they compete in underwater races full of enemies and obstacles! Speed through exciting environments like Atlantis, Ship Graveyard, Pirate’s Island, and more. But watch out for sharks, jellyfish, stingrays and other creatures that will try to prevent you from finishing in 1st place!
Features

Escape natural enemies like sharks, rays, and jellyfish
Challenge up to 8 different friends in multiplayer mode
Unlock bonus mini-ventures as you progress
Pick up friends along the way like the electric eel, blowfish, and octopus, and use them as weapons against your opponents!

If projects like this one already come with Wii U/3DS version I don't know what to expect from the big players...

Ok, my mistake on the MGS3 (I thought it got a late port for some reason), and I didn't know about Smash Bros, but I'm pretty sure we've heard that Konami wanted a version of Project Ogre on Wii U and Kojima flat out refused, so there's something up there.
