It's a keychain? I would've wanted an actual medallion.
The actual medallion is only included with the Dark Edition. In the US, GameStop offered a keychain as a preorder bonus.

Which game has disk stacking?
Mine has stacked discs.
Still though, for €60, this is one heck of a package. I hope it plays as good as it looks. :lol
Which game has disk stacking?
This may seem like a small thing but I'm super impressed that they provided a quality case for a multidisc release. Not even MS does that (disc stacking ftl).
YesCan you play this game on PC with an X360 controller?
I'm impressed that there seems to be an actual manual included. Feels like it's been years since I've seen one.
Is that the US version? PAL version has shitty disc stacking. And NO, an unknown autograph isn't gonna make up for disc stacking
GAF I'm torn, I picked up my Dark Edition pre-order today, but haven't opened it. I don't know if I want to keep it or flip it for massive profit. =(
well.. it has the ESRB rating on it.

The only issues I'm familiar with TW2 and hard reboots are the ones where GPU overclocking is causing them.
I figure this is an ok thread in which to to ask this question:
the enhanced edition of the original game is on sale on GOG. worth it?
The scene in the Flotsam inn early in the game inn where you talk to your friends give me more a sense of companionship and friendship with the NPCs/party than the entire Dragon Age series. They really nailed that part.
And Shani is better than Triss too.
The Witcher 1? Yes. Just get ready for weird combat and lots of jank.

how is the combat weird?
the party at Shani's place was better.

Nobody is better than Triss.
Yeah. The first Witcher is one of those games that is amazing in spite of itself. I just played through it for the first time last summer, and the game mechanics are a bit rough around the edges. The story is top notch, however, and the graphics are more than passable.
The 'party' was one of those weird video game moments where you're told of something, in this case a 'party', but the technology fails to back it up. An oversized room with four people in it, and a drunken run for cheese.
You should just sell me the amulet. ;DIt's just packed with useless crap that will probably end up crammed in a drawer within a week, might as well sell it and use a portion of your profits to buy the regular version (buy drugs or something with the rest).
actually, i'm hoping the graphics are somewhat simple cause I have to play on my laptop with a geforce 310m. let's just say this comp isn't optimized for gaming...
Yeah, you are going to have a rough go of it. The Witcher 1's engine is a gigantic pile of shit. What it appears they did is take the Neverwinter Nights engine and layer huge textures on top of the thing that the engine was never meant to support.
It WILL work, I played a bit of it on an original Alienware m11x with a relative of that GPU, but you will want to play on the lowest settings.
And??? I'm from the UK, why would i know or care what the ESRB is. I barely pay attention to our own ratings system never mind some foreign one
I feel the same way. I've got one coming from Amazon tomorrow. I'd love to flip through the art book. But that's about it.
Do I want this game??? FFFFfffffffff

Wish my PC could handle Witcher 2. Just bought the 360 version and it's pretty rough looking.
People in this thread have posted the complete opposite. GAH!
I don't have a gaming PC so I don't have a choice, hope it looks ok.

Solid 30+ yeah. Took me around 34 hours to finish almost everything on normal difficulty. The story of the first game is mostly separate fyi, if you really wanted you could just read a summary of it. It's mostly only the ending that sets up the second game.I'm on the fence on this game right now (Xbox). I had the first one and might have played it 10 hours before putting it away for good. I was in tech school at the time so my schedule was pretty tight plus I had a bunkmate. I don't remember why I didn't stick with it maybe since there was no internet I probably just got sick of not being able to google shit while i played.
Anyways, my PC sucks now, and I don't remember anything about the story. I'm pretty sure I want to drop the $60 for it..but idk. Just figured I'd air my indecisiveness.
tl;dr: The game is a solid 30+ hours, right?
ffs... I'll redownload everything and try to downclock my gpus below factory settings to see if that helps.. can't believe my luck

Dark difficulty is loads of fun. Enemies hit brutally hard and take decent punishment so you've really gotta be on your toes when it comes to timing their swings. It also encourages you to use more of the tools at your disposal.
When I beat it on Hard I basically completely ignored Magic outside of the occasional YYYRRRDEN - largely content and able to just use Alchemy and roll dodge + sword thrust/pirouette my way to consistent beatdowns - but even in the prologue sections now I find it's much more beneficial to mix it up more on Dark.

You can revert to other difficultis form Dark but then you can't go back and you lose all armour acquired. The only thing that I would warn noobs like me is that there is a place in the game where you get stripped of your magic and alcehmy...if you don't update your sword path it is ssimply brutal on Dark. I normally bring a tonne of traps if I can't mellee a tough enemy and these were sttripped as well. That said Dark is by far the best setting...cool armour options and best challenge balance (at least up til start of Act 3 wehere I am.)/QUOTE]end of act 2 you play as a wraith
I have no shame in saying that's the only part i finished using a trainer in a game. Doing that with magic build sucked terribly.
Also is there a mod to revert the weird effect you have when you equip the only dark mode equipment? In my last playthrough i did most of the second half of the game without using them only because i hated it.
