The Witcher 3 PS4 gameplay

Lol, everyone is talking past eacher other.

This is the PC footage, where some people think it would be PS4, which is not. It's not even part of the two PS4 videos which were posted today.

Yup, exactly. Which is why I don't understand why Mifec quoted that gif as being PC footage when its from the video in the OP. I don't understand why the harpy gif was even brought up lol

Yes, this is the PC gif, not the other ones lol

Because when I clicked 3 quotes, all of which were saiyng it's a PC gif, I was led back to the one I was talking about. Obv I'm wrong and conceded to the point no?

PC gif or not, nothing in it looks any different from what's in the PS4 gameplay videos that just came out, so I think it's safe to continue thinking we're not going to see a huge difference in PS4 and PC, barring a few fancy Nvidia features and framerate/resolution.

At that point I would say that CDPR has really failed with Ultra if it's very close or basically identical for PS4 IQ. Especially when they have said that you will need GTX980 to Ultra game out on 1080p. I think there will be noticeable differences between the two while console versions will look good.

Given they're quoting 1080p60fps on a 980 on 'Ultra', it doesn't sound like they've pushed their 'Ultra' settings far enough :(

What would be enough if requiring 2nd most powerful card in the market isn't enough? Quad-TitanX as recommended spec would be better? Maybe I'm just bad MasterRace member when I think that requiring GTX980 for maximum settings on 1080p is quite demanding.

Looks good! As noted by others, the lighting is really nice, and, largely due to that, there's a great feeling of atmosphere.

I think they need to turn down the foliage wind effects though, would be great if they look like that when a storm kicks up, but as a default, not so much.

Also, animations are mixed - I thought his riding animations were good, very subtle and believable. But on foot, he looks like a marionette (especially that jump).

Still not sold on combat. Don't like that signs are selected from a pause menu, and I'm worried the swordplay will feel limited and repetitive a la Witcher 2.

Still, this looks beautiful for an open world console game.

I don't think that PC gameplay video is at ultra setting though, is it?

edit: IIRC, they said the console versions would be pretty close to "high" settings anyway, so it makes sense that they'd be looking pretty similar except on the highest end PCs with ultra settings.

Game doesn't pause, it slows down. If you take too long dicking around in that menu enemy will hit you and hurt you.

Also what I saw in yesterdays GOG stream, it was all about combat, it looks way better than what TW2 has and different builds enable variety of playstyles. Devs also explain combat stuff in depth. VOD here; http://www.twitch.tv/gogcom/v/4721705

That jump animation sucks ass. Weird since other animations look really good.

Fantastic forest, such an improvement over TW2. The Flotsam forest was just a collection of narrow pathways with a couple of bigger fight arenas. This one feels so realistic.

I don't really have money to spare for this now, but I want it so bad, halp :-(

The game looks gorgeous and i can wait to play it...

I still haven't decided if i buy the PC or the console version though...

I thought I remembered reading somewhere once that jump animations are a huge pain in the ass to get to look right. If nothing else, the fact that videogame characters pretty much never jump in an even remotely human way (in terms of height/distance) is probably part of that. Like, it just always looks kinda wrong, much like when people are thrown across rooms in most movies.

That's from The Witcher 4 on PS5.

no its not. by that time, the game will look even better and take up even more processing power so these effects will still be cut due to hardware limitations...

We need a next gen console that can never be maxed out so these developers can go how big they want.
