Pop-in.
I suspect it's going to be more noticeable when actually playing the game than in these videos, specially when outside of forests and stuff.
But this effect isn't in the game now, and it sucks

Looks like they have a set number of trees allowed to be rendered and when it reaches the limit it gets rid of other ones... though being that close to the camera is a bit jarring
This game is just so beautiful :O
youtube compresion is bad
Looks properly beautiful.
Still going to double-dip on PC and PS4. Then realize that my PC cannot run it at maximum settings and 1440p. And play everything on PS4.

He never uses the same spell as in the gif, but certain things cause ripples. It's in the game.

Cant watch right now, how does it look? Better than expected
SHOCKING. You have a problem with the footage.
That's not the same thing. Two different versions of that spell.Shame, I really liked that effect. I think they toned the effect down because even in this gameplay from few months ago it looked different https://youtu.be/tuPEam_Jt4I?t=5m23s
Um, I'm pretty sure what we see in the old gif is an upgraded Aard. You upgrade the Sign so that it can cast up to 360 degrees in the first game, and I imagine the same is true for 2nd and 3rd.Shame, I really liked that effect. I'm almost done with the first game, then I'll have to get started on 2.Still have to finish The Witcher 2 -_-
no ,written by me XD
Man, I'm going to cut off so many heads. Do we know if there's a specific thing that triggers it, or does it just happen randomly?
I have PS4 and just built a 4690k/GTX970 box. Without this being about digital phallus size, am I correct in assuming the my PC is the correct version for me in this case?

Oh nice! Good to know, thanks.Um, I'm pretty sure what we see in the old gif is an upgraded Aard. You upgrade the Sign so that it can cast up to 360 degrees in the first game, and I imagine the same is true for 2nd and 3rd.
In fact, now that I think about it, I recall seeing a 360 degree Aard in some recent Wild Hunt footage. So, it's in.

you are correct
Absolutely.
Yep, easily.
I actually meant to say the opposite. Brain fart -> It's more noticeable in the footage, when watching than when playing.
Also, noticing issues with the footage that are plain for anyone to see is not some fanboy thing. Specially when you pick only one of my posts on the vidoe so far to attack me with.
Expecting everyone to NOT have issues with the footage because it's from the holy PS4 IS a fanboy thing.
SHOCKING that you are accusing others of being fanboys, when it's you who's the one acting like one.
I love everything except the movement of the trees. Seems way off and jarring.

I like it a lot actually, though a few here and there seem to be bending way too much compared to other nearby trees. Like they're being affected by hurricane like winds, while the others just have a gentle breeze blowing on it.
Overall, it gives the forest a touch of liveliness, instead of last gen trees that never moved, or only had leaves moving ehre and there.
But yeah I think it needs to be tweaked a bit.
Youre overall negativity is well documented in other witcher 3 threads, pal. Not sure how you got fanboyism out of me calling you out, but sure. You have an overall nasty approach to everything the witcher that I've noticed. Just pointing it out.
Cant watch right now, how does it look? Better than expected
EDIT: Nice hair physics I thought they werent suppose to be in the ps4 version, unless its a static animation

With the downgrade rumors flying around, I think PC gamers will suspect console parity.

Lol, what? My avatar not a clue as to how much of a fan I am? I'm not a blind fanboy though. If I am critical of the game (And I don't think I have been), it's because I love it, and I want it to be the best it can be.
Is that really an irrational suspicion?

I completely understand. I think all of us on here are wanting the same thing. Just the stuff you point out won't take away from the overall product and its hard to be so critical when the game hasnt been out yet. Especially all the youtuber video that was from an older build.
Im just saying to try and look at it from a glass half full perspective and not so much the glass half empty approach.
On another note: Im just hoping the xbone version of this game will look as promising as the ps4 footage looks. Still not sure why microsoft has yet to show any actual xbox footage when they posted the pc info
