The Witcher 3 PS4 gameplay

I'm excited, this should be a nice change of pace from Bloodborne although part of me wishes it had the exact same combat and player movement lol. Actually it just dawned on me that I never played a Witcher game on consoles, hopefully it translates well.

On PC it had a lot of buttons mapped to the keyboard and the inventory was a mess. Anyone know what the touch pad does? I'm hoping they use the left and right buttons separately, we are going to need all the buttons we can get.

Touchpad swipes give you quick access to map, character sheet, and skills menu.

Whats best deal people have found for PS4 version in UK? (using vouchers etc)

Cheapest i can find is £40

Amazon were doing a 2 for £80 deal and they're pretty much guaranteed to deliver on time. Tesco have always been days late for me so not worth the £2 cheaper. Gameseek typically deliver games 2-3 days early but right now it'll cost you £3.75 extra than the £40 you found it for.

Witcher 2 is only Witcher to land on console too, on 360 to be precise. What I have heard it's amazingly good looking on 360 and performs a lot better than graphics would suggest, as in people expected bad performance because of high graphical quality.

Inventory easily was TW2's worst part when it comes to controls and UI, clunky and awkward as fuck with KB/M. What we have seen from TW3 they have totally redone how menus are accessed and it looks to fit both pad and KB/M rather well.

Edit: User on Reddit has copy and is doing small Q&A about game; http://www.reddit.com/r/witcher/comments/35ec4d/got_early_copy_what_do_you_want_to_know_early/

I asked him about framerate stability and he mentioned that only time when he has noticed dips is when Geralt does those executions and it triggers close up from camera, basically when executing last enemy. He also mentioned that there is some screen tearing now and then.

Day 1 patch isn't available yet.

My only problem with TW2 was all of the blocked off paths and awful level design. All I thought about while playing was how amazing it would be if it had room to breathe in an open world and more environment variety. So happy to see that I am getting my wish and then some.

Thanks for this. Nice to see that his impressions on the visuals is extremely positive, although I would prefer even more in depth explanation of how good the visuals are.

Man, I hope the tearing is very minimal. That shit completely ruins IQ IMO, doesn't matter how good the game looks if the image is gonna literally break apart when things get a bit hectic. Nothing breaks the illusion like that. I'd much rather take a drop to 25 fps with V-sync intact than significant tearing.

Can we talk about her please :-)

I can't stand screen tearing. If it's noticeable, it may be enough to stop me from getting the console version. I'd rather take my chances with my poor old HD 7850.

Can we not? I'd much rather talk about the game instead of getting this thread locked because of creep discussion. Like the post directly above mine for instance.

Kinga the Witcher goddess. I already surrender my self to her. One day she will touch my controller and bless my life
Are you sure your controller is the only thing you want her to touch? :P

Anyway, I know she is hot and all, but The Witcher 3 threads have recently turned into Kinga fan club threads.

CDPR needs to do the right thing here and release the game early.

You aren't going to see this with major releases because companies now schedule midnight launch events. And some of those companies like to be able to release a press release that says "We sold X million copies in one day", which they won't be able to do if stores are allowed to sell them on random days.

Anyone else still streaming either PS4 or Xbone version?

Is the Day 1 patch supposed to address said issues?

Well...if you are a nerd that lives in his mothers basement...

An attractive person can pique interest of another at any time. Granted that this isn't the place to derail the thread for that purpose but it has nothing to do with being a "nerd" or "living in mother's basement".

I wouldn't be surprised if Day 1 patch slightly improved games performance and fixed stuff like tearing, but we have to wait and see.

Also yeah, it's kinda weird to crack "Well he must be nerd living in mommies basement" jokes when woman with looks like Kingas does attract attention of all kinds of hetero men.

Yes, but it is the nerds that make creepy comments on the internet. When the extent of a persons female socialization is based on surfing for porn. Thats what you get

Oh wow...

Have you gone outside of NeoGAF? Because in plenty of places where 'nerds that live in their mom's basement' don't frequent there are plenty of guys saying horn-dog comments.

Ah, I had assumed that there was a patch note. Well if they're not game breaking at the moment then it's a job well done thus far.

An inaccurate and myopic worldview. I'd recommend not digging that ditch deeper.

There's that and the fact that they've been airing a commercial for over a week that states that the game comes out on May 19th.
