Was that Yennifer in the trailer?

Probably best to at least play TW2, but it seems like they're making TW3 newcomer-friendly with at least the included compendium. And I'm sure things will be explained.
There is that booklet that comes with Witcher 3 that explains what has happened. But to get the most out of it, I would definitely play Witcher 2 at least. 1 is probably passable
Witcher 2 had big codex entries on everything, so you could more easily understand the Witcher's setting. The two games are connected and related, but the events of both games are largely self-contained, with only a few cameos or references between the two. I see no reason why the Witcher 3 will be any dfiferent.
I would recommend playing all three, but it is in no way a requirement.
Uh... #TeamJennifer ? :x
Like others have said, it might be best to play the Witcher 2 first. Still a great game, usually on sale for $4-5 on PC. That being said the Dev's have always been good with making the games approachable. It's got a nice journal that reminds me a lot of the codex stuff in Mass Effect. You talk to an npc, discover a new area? detailed journal entries are updated. Sure that may not be for everyone but they have always been good for leaving the option there for people that want to learn more.
I don't like how CDPR wants to sell a Triss as some whore...
Where was the hidden message this time?

Nice to see that we will return to Kaer Morhen!

You can bet your ass on thatPC footage, right?
"We missed you!
Today we got a look at the third trailer for the witcher 3 wild hunt. We hope you liked it!
There's much more to the game that it's just impossible to show everything within two and a half minutes.
Most importantly, we showed you a preview of our main characters:
Geralt's close friends and some of the last witchers remaining in the world. Vesemir, Eskel, and Lambert will play a big part in the game, as well as their famous fortress, Kaer Morhen.
You also got a glimpse of the renowned bard Dandelion and the sorceress, Triss Merigold.
Emhyr Var Emhyreis, Emperor of Nilfgaard, the most powerful man in the world of the Witcher also made an appearance. Recognise his voice?
And then there was Ciri!
And Yennefer!
By the way, if you're new to the series, don't worry, the game will provide you all the information you need to know, and you'll start loving (and battling) characters in no time!
Also you've been asking many questions about gameplay features and we're finally ready to answer some of them:
Yes, you will be able to fight on horseback.
The crossbow. Yup, Geralt has a ranged weapon. Because monsters fly and you can't stab them.
Remember swimming and sailing? You'll be able to dive and search for a lot of hidden stuff too. There's a whole underwater world to discover.
Horse racing anyone?
You also got to hear more music from the game. This particular track was composed by Marcin Przybyłowicz. We'd love to hear your feedback on our forums, facebook, or twitter etc.
P.S. If you still waiting for more, please be patient, we're just warming up!"
That's where TW1 starts, right? It's been a while, don't quite remember.

Just beautiful.

She's hardly a whore, she just thinks with her vagina too much. Seriously though, she's just gaga for Geralt.
Some of us commented about it:Who else has a Witcher 1 flashback when seeing this?
It is back then (Witcher 1) where we first heard that Wild hunt is coming, and nothing would stop it. How about that for foreshadowing?
Yes. Re-learning to fight, along with the other witchers on the remains of Kaer Morhen. That's where TW1 starts, right? It's been a while, don't quite remember.
I suppose it's time to finally power through W2...

I don't think the game will allow us to do this unfortunately. It's going to be like real life, we're actually going to have to make a choice.

I just finally rewatched the trailer in gamersyded version on my 55" plasma and it is simply mindblowing. Had to rewatch it again and stop at all the scenes just taking them in![]()
