On one hand, I am dying to get me an LG 34UM95 for this game but on the other, I wonder if it would be not wiser to wait for A-Sync or G-Sync solutions to be available before I purchase this game and the monitor along with it.
The eventual fate of Temeria whether it remains independent or is taken over by Redania or Kaedwen was one of most important plotpoints of W2. Now with Temeria territory occupied, the developers can just ignore that issue.
I'm sure this was posted, but holy god all the stuff you get with the GOG version... you have to feel bad for console players honestly, especially if you owned the previous two to make it cheaper.
In the books they have a magical attraction to each other they can't really break even if they wanted to, so it's not really like much of his choice now is it?
As somebody who has read the short stories and the novels, not to mention played the games (I know I'm so unique amirite) I definitely go team triss. Throughout the novels she always has seemed to care the most for him and even tries to help him reach his supposed fated one despite her feelings.
As an avid anime watcher, that's the motherfucking definition of Best Girl. Yennefer would be like the childhood friend or the first girl he meets in the show. She's the obvious choice for most, but not necessarily the best.
Redeem your free backup PC copy of The Witcher or The Witcher 2
If you already own any PC or Mac edition of either The Witcher or The Witcher 2 simply enter your product key below and you'll receive that game for free on GOG.com. If you don't have an account yet, you will have to create one (it takes less than a minute).
Witcher 2 did end with an imminent Nilfgaardian invasion, and the northern kingdoms weren't exactly in a position to defend themselves. Good catch though.
This is why I wish more developers focused on PC first and then scaled back for consoles. It makes sense to do it this way since everyone gets the best that is available on their platform and it pushes graphics forward.
Yep, this is what we know at the moment. Its funny becuase the map is getting bigger with each trailer released, this time adding Vizima.
Also for people who dont know, No Man's Land is where Nilfgard got the first time they tried to invide and killed all of
Ciri's royal family
before she was found and adopted by Geralt. So that probbaly counts Cintra and Brokilon forest too.
1- They had a poll on their forums, and the general census was to have both perspectives.
2- The game revolves massively about character customization, and is said to be a "true RPG", meaning it's probably like Skyrim in which you create your own.
I hope they have a 3rd person, as 1st person only would probably be a deal breaker.
Not only i'm not a big fan of it in the first place, but it usually makes me physically sick.
Fingers crossed.

It's unfortunate (though understandable as this is simply a digital offer) that this doesn't translate to being able to get a discount on the console version if you've purchased both Witcher 1 and 2 from GOG, but regardless this loyalty offer is amazing.
So we know theres two areas becuase some part of the game is placed in Kaer Morhen and its also been confirmed. If the trailers and the interconnected world are to be believed, the Witcher 3's map could be something similar to this (adding the Kaer Morhen part):
If you read the books, he sounds just like he talks in the english version. At least in the spanish translation. When you hear Geralt the manner he talks sound more near to this era, than to medieval english, and always in this ruff manner. In the books (spanish translation) its the same, Geralt speaks more modern cut dry spanish, while the poor characters speak olde badly spoken spanish typical of the medieval era, and the noble olde aristocrat spanish. The witcher's friends and rest of the witchers in Kaer Morhen also use more modern spanish. Its pretty amazing all the work that went into that translation, if only the spanish game subs could have the same work.
It is weird how much of the little details they cut when they ported. Like when you rest to brew some potions, it is just a menu on the console, but on the PC you actually see Geralt sitting in the background resting by the fire.
Granted the game is HUGE and they had to cut it down to fit on the DVD, but still, the little things matter dammit

I just can't unsee Dr Doom in the background, and now I'm convinced he has to be an important character. It's like that whole scene is designed to draw your eye to him back there. Look at that guy just chillin' back there, hanging out on a ship in his iron mask.
I didn't play TW2 when I had 360, but now that I've moved over to Sony/PS4 and no longer have a 360, I won't be playing the other games in the series.
As far as I know, the other Witchers' weren't on PS systems, so dedicated Sony gamers and players like myself, who switched to Sony this gen, TW3 would have to be our introduction.
One of my big gaming regrets is that I didn't finish TW2.
I was playing it on my gaming laptop, and it was just kind of struggling with it after awhile. I'm not by nature a PC gamer, so it was a bit weird for me - after I got a wired Xbox controller hooked it, it went smoother. Till my laptop started to overheat and freeze. Ruined it for me .
I was somewhere in Act 2 when i stopped, but I could tell how rare and great it was.
I'll get this on consoles anyway. Though I guess my choices won't carry over!! (not that i saw the endings of TW2 anyway )

I never understood why people are proud to restrict their gaming experiences to that of a single company or brand of hardware. Just because they're not on Sony's systems... I guess everyone has their reasons, but I'd never want to limit myself in such a manner. GOG, Steam, Origin, Playstation, Vita, Xbox, Wii, 3DS, even iOS... why would I ever want to "pick one" or even two. So much better to just play the games you want to play, and have that be that. At least not be proud that you limit yourself to a single brand.
A lot of the pre-rendering was due to the huge memory deficit in last gen's consoles. Also the need to mask level load transitions due to those same memory deficits.

Man...The Witcher 2 was one of the greatest blessings I've ever encountered in my gaming life. A real mature RPG. It took itself seriously and the story, lore and world were deep and intricate. I've been looking forward to the Witcher 3 for some time now. And all I can say is.....my body is Reggie
I understand that, but it still wouldn't make me proud to not have it when there are games I wanted to play on it... it would make me regret only being able to afford a limited amount of platforms when there are games I want on others. I certainly wouldn't call myself a dedicated/proud X gamer if that was the reason I was not playing the games I wanted to because they were not on the platform I bought.
I mean, still. It's a luxury. Not to get all serious in a Witcher thread, but that's why people get defensive about the console they can scrape for. Or their parents buy them, as is probably more often the case with console warriors.
