The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Hearts of Stone |OT| Heroes of Gwent

Wow this already seems like a fantastic expansion. It's not just a quality quest line, but I'm constantly finding new side quests. Feels like another 1/4-1/3rd of the game.

The one horse race near the runecrafter is super buggy for me (where the main quest sort of starts off). I can't cross the first bridge unless I jump because an invisible wall is blocking me off and then the doors to the city keep closing for me so I'm stuck unable to complete the race.

How exactly do i get this?

I bought the game with expansion pack pre-launch but it still saying that the Hearts of Stone expansion isn't Installed.

EDIT: Nvm had to restart Steam for some reason before it would start downloading :/

CDPR really stuck to their guns when they decided to include "giant spiders with awesome teamwork" in this expansion.

Whatever's in the next one will probably be worse.

Enchanting seems like a pointless gold sink.

Maybe those advanced tools would make it better but getting 2x vitality from food or keeping grindstone bonuses isnt very exciting

Quick question: Does this DLC take chronologically after or before the main story? I am either going to use my post-game save or the save before the final quest for roleplaying purposes depending on when it is supposed to take place.

It is not specified, but I imagine anything is before the final quest.

First impressions are extremely positive.

I only got the chance to put in about 2 hours but so far the writing is still top notch and I'm constantly stumbling into quests that lead through multiple stages and locations. I'm falling back in love with this game all over again already!

Can't wait to play some more tomorrow and actually get to the first main quest lol.

Price is very cheap so just bought it.

I can use my Geralt level 36 right? My game is complete i just didn't play the Gwent missions since i hate it, all the rest was done.
Yes.

Yeah I'd like to learn that one too. Is there any loot that I can get without playing the expansion's story but having it installed anyway?

I don't think you can get any armor sets or weapons in the expansion without playing it

It's taking me a while to get back into the swing of things. Surprised at the performance increases since launch, though.

I kind of agree. It's a neat idea, but none of the enchants are powerful/interesting enough to sound straight up better than the pure +15% status effect chance/+30% sign intensity from normal runes.

One of the max level weapon ones consumes an adrenaline point when casting a sign to have your next sword attack apply that sign's effect... which would be great except I'm using the skill that lets me cast signs with adrenaline points and that's a lot more versatile. The runic implementation isn't good enough to take a different skill over it.

Forgot to download the update, started the download and it said it would take 8 hours. Put my PS4 in rest mode 3 hours ago, went to check and said it had 99+ hours left. Godammit.

I still have to see how it all works for myself, but gameplay side of things isn't really CDPR's strength. Even in the base version, it makes no sense to unlock abilities based on tiers when you can only equip 12 abilities.

The game actually needed to have more active abilities like Whirl, Rend, Alternate Signs. Consider a move like sword uppercuts, a sword swipe that hits all enemies, combine two signs in to another sign, etc. Active abilities are what makes meaningful changes in combat and helps it from getting stale.

Damn I love this game. Took me about an hour to get back into the flow of combat after months off, but once I hit it felt great. Also, does feel a lot smoother than pre 1.10 update.

I'm confused with the pricing. From what I can tell, there are two expansions. The first expansion costs $10, and the season pass costs $25. Ifd the second expansion supposed to be a lot bigger, or is there something else I am missing?

the second expansion will include an entirely new zone. So yes much bigger.

The second expansion is a lot bigger. This one's pretty great but it takes place in mostly familiar areas. The second expansion will have its own zone.

Blood and Wine is the one that will include a new region called Touissant
It was a big mistake to go NG+, now I have to get to lvl 60 to play? :(
Everything in NG+ scales up to 30 levels, so I don't know why you didn't see this coming

Sweet deliverance. Revalidating my GOG download of Witcher 3 through Galaxy fixed the "Please Insert CD [x3]" error I've been having since launch.

Now I just need Galaxy to properly recognise the (free) DLC...

Yeah, it could easily stunlock you to death.

Thank you all. Buying now

Man, this DLC is kicking my ass... I avoided min/maxing in the base game because it became too easy even on Death march, but now I feel like I should try some build optimizing.

good lord I forgot how to combat in this game lmao

cant even kill some level 34 nekkers

maybe I should just go with the pre made geralt

I've played for almost 3 hours and still haven't met Shani or encountered the first boss. As soon as I was instructed to go to the sewers, I went off and started doing sidequests.

In relation to a certain sidequest, I have a question.

[SPOILERS for Herbalist sidequest]
I'm pretty sure the implication here is that the old couple are cannibals and ate the herbalist's apprentice, right? At least, the game hints pretty heavily at this with his trail vanishing in front of the abandoned village, the woman chopping meat when you meet her, their insistence that wolves must have devoured him and left no trace, and the camera focus on the blood on the herbalist's table at the end of the quest. However, I couldn't find any evidence of cannibalism so just took the bad news back to the herbalist.

Did I fuck up, or is the quest just cleverly written like this, in that Geralt clearly suspects the truth, but can't do anything about it?

First boss is worse than any encounter in the main game. What the fuck?

It's really terrible, I've no idea how they put that thing in this game. Geralt isn't fast enough to dodge that boss' attacks. After trying about 5 times I just set it on the easiest difficulty.

I think they just made this expansion wayyyyy harder than the base game cus everything seems to hit like a truck right now.

also its been a while since I played but my frames are showing 60fps but im noticing some weirdness in how things look..like its stuttering and the fps feels lower than 60.

what is happening.
