What's the best resource for looking at how my choices affected my game? Just read up the thread that in Tower of Mice you can
kill Keira
. Literally had no idea since I chose something else.

Heard a lot of people talking about the ending of the Bloody Baron's quest line as well but mine wasn't that spectacular at all so wondering if I got a boring story branch.

Also, 40+ hours in and only just got to Novigrad. Batman tomorrow. Fuck :(

Did a secondary quest last night that ended up killing a prominent supporting character for the most of the story. Wow, didn't expect that to happen. This game has balls.

Damn, I was hoping to get the main storyline done before Batman hits, but it looks like I still have ways to go after the
Kaer Morhen battle.
Enjoying it a lot, even though the storyline doesn't seem as focused and tight as in Assassins of Kings.

When I got to that point I thought the story was damn near finished. When I realized there was still a lot to go I was hit by a wall of fatigue and "rushed" the rest of the game :(. Kind of wished I hadn't

The Pellar sells diagrams/formulas for all the Lesser, Normal and Greater Glyphs and Runestones, if you're looking for a huge money sink. You can blow tens of thousands of coins easily if you get into that stuff.

Unless you decide to do something different then the pellar wishes you do in his secondary quest. If you do that, you will not be able to purchase a thing from him.

This. I'm right before that part, and figured I was pretty much at the end of the game, but this morning I looked up how many main missions were left and shit not even close!

Anyone know a good place to find some of the lesser potions like Golden Oriole or the Swallow upgrades? I know it's random where things appear, but is there an alchemist that has these or has a good stock usually? I had seen some people mention the woman in White Orchard, but she didn't have that much.

You can get superior swallow in a main quest near the end of the game.

After playing all weekend, I'm midway in Act II
from what I've seen (I have the missions to ask several people to come help to Kaer Morhen), and I'm also doing side quests, with most of them still sitting in the level 20-25 range, not bothering with Gwent, though).

By the looks of it, it seems I'm still a good 20 hours or so from finishing the game, so I guess the Bat will have to wait :)

Story wise you are nearing the end. 5 hours or less I would say.

There is an alchemist and a merchant in Skellige that have a treasure trove of them for sale. They're both near the druid camp. You can also try Keira in Velen once you open up her quest line.

Once you beat the game, does it bring you back to Velen/Skellige/Kaer Morhen so you can continue doing the sidequests and exploration you missed or should I do all of that before the final battle or whatever it is?

Yes. You are taken back to
Kaer Morhen
but the state of the world is unaffected by the main story. Side quests that are not related to the main quest as well as witcher contracts can still be done.

I hope I get this Game done by the time Halo 5 hits. I don't have a ton of time to play but I am hoping 4 months is enough to finish it.

I'd say at least another 20-30 hours?

My final playtime was above 200 hours but I really took my time and did as much side-activities as I could, although there's still plenty of undiscovered PoIs on my map.

On other niggle I have with this game is the climbing/traversal mechanic.

Tthere are many ledges you should be able to jump, but can't. Geralt just jumps against an invisible wall.
Often I found myself looking on the web why I can't reach some "?" location to find that I have to wait until the main story progresses.
On the other hands there are very high ledges you can climb just because they have a "climbable" flag .

This became glaringly obviously when I tried to follow a mountain path before (not climable) and after the start of the "
the path or warriors
" sidequest in skellige.

I have a question - there's a hidden treasure on an island in the northern region of Novigrad that I can't access. There's some sort of drawbridge?

Also, much further south is a bandit camp that I can't 'clear', even though I've killed everything there and looted everything.

Finally, my second niggle behind the general handling of Roach is how Geralt falls back into that ridiculous 'frightened' stunlock pose after being knocked down. To what end?

Is there any good looking armour in the game besides some witcher gear I can't get to yet? I'm in Novigrad at level 11 and I shudder to equip anything else than the starting armour.
They really shouldn't have you start with such cool looking gear. :p

Hidden treasure: Two ways.

"Official way"
Go to the base, there is an underwater entrance near a place of power
"Cheese strategy"
jump to the left edge of the drawbridge, there is a small ledge you can use to get accross

As for the bandit camp, I'm in the same situation, so no idea.

Every piece of armor I crafted or looted that wasn't witcher gear was downright atrocious.

Yeah I didn't start caring about those until I was already past Keira unfortunately.
Can you buy stuff from her if she comes back to Kaer Morhen?

Can anyone tell me how to clear the place of haunting in the abandoned village east of
Byways
?

When I use the lamp, I can see a
ghost digging something up
and then there's the cave
which i looted completely
What am I missing? The icon stays, Geralt doesn't acknowledge the presence of the ghost and I feel like it's bugged out.

Also, new DLC announced

So you never found Redanian Halberdier or Oathbreaker then. Nilfgaardian Guardsman is OK too.

Once I got my hands on the feline gear I gave up going for anything else. At that point I was thinking "thank goodness I found something that looks decent" and didn't bother looking for an alternate look.

I think you can buy stuff from her any time you aren't in a mission with her.

That one I get from the first merchant in White Orchard, right? I'll take a look at it, thanks!

dunno about white orchard but I meant the free dlc equipment you can buy from the Quartermaster in the Baron’s garrison in near Crow's Perch

BEWARE: Roach is still a fucking stupid horse even with shiny armor

8 hours in and I still can't get the hang of this game. I think I have to be more patient with my attacks.

I'll give it to about 20 hours before deciding to move on or not.

Me too! I bought the guide book as well, help me along, I'm a veteran RPG player but having trouble getting immersed in this. I'm around 12 hours in.

My main issue is how complex the inventory is. Dozens of ingredients, potions, etc. How am I supposed to remember which potion to apply to the sword before a certain battle? Without the guide I would be utterly lost. (This is the first guide book I've ever used since dragon warrior on NES lol).

Second issue is story. What exactly is the goal here? It started with me looking for Yennifer, I get that.
Then when found she treats Geralt badly, we ride away together, get attacked, and a few hours later I'm assigned to look for Ciri...
but for what purpose? Having a hard time following the story...and the point of all this.

Now I'm at the part where I'm looking for the
Baron's family, people keep attacking me, and no mention of Yennifer anymore?nor Ciri? Again, it's like I've been sidetracked from a main purpose for which I'm still uncertain of the goal.

Anyone have some insight? Help is appreciated - I want to love this game!

How many more weeks are there of free DLC btw?

Ciri is Geralt's adopted daughter and a child of the prophecy. She is a lord of time and space and can move between worlds and times freely.

The reason why Geralt is after her is because he knows that she has appeared and knows the Wild Hunt follows her.

The Wild Hunt follows her
is because they think she can create a portal between their world and the world of Witcher 3

Everything you do in the main quests is about following Ciri's trail and making sure that the Wild Hunt doesn't get to her.

I suggest watching this series of videos if you want to familiarize yourself with the lore of the world more:

friend gifted me a copy on release day, bought a 980ti and started in earnest this last weekend

Finished every sidequest in White Orchard (I think)

I only played through the first 2 areas in Witcher 2 so I didn't have a good frame of reference on how to answer the questions I was asked so I hope I didnt pick shitty things

Game is gorgeous

Enjoying just about everything in the game

Has hairworks become better? I can turn it on and dont notice a drastic hit to performance (though I'm not very sensitive to framerates)

modest O/C on card and CPU were done on my end

I finally mastercrafted the Wolven armor. It looks fantastic, although it reminds me a bit of what Lambert wore. I just need to mastercraft the Feline and Ursine silver swords to have all the mastercrafted items in the game.

I also finished Through Time and Space. It was a memorable mission.
The other worlds looked absolutely stunning. That desert environment was superb, and darting through the snowstorm was a thrill. The vantage point where you could see the elven city... I wanna go there.

Also is there any alternative way to get the Dandelion card except for the Vegelbud party?

Level 20 and just arrived in Skellige. Left Velen and Novigrad with some ?'s remaining, but I'll hit those up later. I wanted to push the main story forward a bit more.

Now I want to fine that Ursine armor. I'm content with my enhanced Griffin armor, but I love the look of the Ursine. Plus I already have the superior diagrams for them. Just need basic and enhanced.

Just wanted to pop into this thread to proclaim that Deathmarch is where the challenge is. Blood and broken bones is easy mode by comparison. Damn, every fight is a pain, and I have to be much more resourceful. I'm actually using all the food I collect instead of throwing it out or selling it like I did in B&BB.

Three trophies to go- gonna be an interesting ride.

Sub Zero

his body's cold as ice, but he's got a heart of gold
They should add level scaling for the DLC armor. I'm guessing that the new Skellige set will be for 15-20 level so it will end up being useless for people who have already finished the game

I'm always amazed at how so many people are willing to fight Geralt head on. I'm fully armored and my sword is literally glowing with magic, yet a bandit with no shirt and a club starts talking shit to me and tries to take me out.

It makes me really sad that I'll probably finish the game way before all the DLC is out, and I'm not the type of guy to stay with a game once I've finished it.
