The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

Man, I didn't realized how horrible the crafting/alchemy menus were until I got them full of diagrams.

So much f'ing scrolling, the grouping of items make no sense.

I mean, why is it alphabetical order instead of by name of armor?

Currently it's like
  • Griffin Enhanced
  • *Lots of other crap*
  • Griffin
  • *Lots of other crap*
  • Griffin Master Crafted
  • *lots of other crap*
  • Griffin Superior

It's putting "Enhanced" before the base armor, then Mastercrafted before Superior due to it being alphabetical. It's nuts. I have so much crap I have to scroll through.

This would be so much better,

  • *Lots of other crap*
  • Griffin
  • Griffin Enhanced
  • Griffin Superior
  • Griffin Mastercrafted
  • *Lots of other crap*

Plus, if I have an item I don't have all the parts for, I should be able to click the part in question, it should automatically either make it (if I have the resources) or take me to the part in the crafting menu so I can make it.

Also, why even bother showing Armor when at a Blacksmith or showing Swords at an Armorer? It's just needless scrolling, especially since it forgets that I've closed some of the lists anytime I go off that menu.

Spot on. There are a lot of things that need fixing in this game.

If you're after an accurate figure then yes, look at the display on your personal stopwatch you've been meticulously using every time you've opened/closed the game. Otherwise no.

Lulz that's all well and good. But where's the in game play time? I must be blind because I can't find it anywhere..

Throughout the game I have never been able to equip a chernbogg runestone even though I have open slots on my swords it keeps saying "you can only fit this upgrade to an item which has matching and currently unused socket" even though I do have unused sockets

Trying to put them on my Mastercraft wolven swords

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.

Go on the inventory and you can hit a button to see stats.

But for me it's like 15+ days on PS4, so the timer likes to break.

Just completed the game and only have a few side quests to do everything. The Witcher 3 is easily in my top ten of all time it's just a shame a few bugs ment I failed or couldn't do a few quests. Also what is up with (end game spoiler)
Novigrad, why hasn't it changed? I got the Nilfgaardian's winning the war ending. Yet there are still Radovid's forces and flags in the city?

Triss romance question:

I'm guessing her romance is tied to the Novigrad questline? If I just run through this quest line now, does that lock me in before I do any of the Skellige missions? This is assuming that I want to end up with Triss and not Yen of course. Wouldn't matter otherwise.

when you finish the game it puts back back before the last chapter. There was a message that explained this after the credits.

I'm at level 7 and item durability is getting really annoying. It cost like half my gold last time I had to repair my sword, but I did it anyway. I was back to full or whatever high percentage they repair it to. Then I did a night-wraith contract... and I'm back under 50% and in need of repairs. ONE FIGHT. The buggers regenerate and its really hard to seal the deal quickly. Really fucking angry right now. It feels like I have almost no money constantly yet I buy almost nothing but occasional alchemical supplies. Maybe I'll eventually be able to cash in these foreign coins at the bank or w/e but currently this is "financial stress and irritating group combat simulator 2015".

at first all your swords are junk anyway. Just carry a bunch and swap to a different one until that breaks too.

God damn it Yen is one hell of an annoying arrogant bitch, the developers sure knew how to make a beautiful character but at the same time also one of the most - if not the most- annoying character in the game. Jesus.... I'm a couple of hours into Skellige at the moment and can't stand her already.

How did I miss that! Cheers.

Please CDPR can you fix keys/maps/items not changing to a non quest item.

She's charming in her own way. Geralt doesn't take lip from anyone, yet I think that's why he's so drawn to her.

Kind of.
The quest in particular is called A Matter of Life and Death. If, during this quest you A) Kiss her, and B) Tell her you love her at the given points in the quest, then she'll be locked in as your romance choice. From there, ignore the quest called The Last Wish when Yennefer brings it up later. I think you might be able to do it and just opt out of the Yen romance at the end, but I'm not sure, so don't risk it.

Triss role in W3 is quite small when compared to Yennefer. The voice is also somewhat flat and not as dymanic as most other VA.

I usually love redheads but Yenn for me.

It's when you go help
Skellige ruler's son in the cave, eat some herbs and get stoned enough to see flying whales, the dead King of Skellige and fighting the leader of Wild Hunt.

Ooh, okay. Thats why. I didn't do that one. I went the other route. Sounds like something worth seeing on my next playthrough, though. XD

Oh man the drinking game in
Kaer Morhen was hilarious. I didn't end up doing anything with the megascope, what happens if you do?
You missed out!
The guys decide to use the megascope to get a bunch of sorceresses to come and party, to which Eskel exclaims "summon the bitches!". Then they think they'll need to disguise themselves otherwise the sorceresses won't come, and so they start putting on Yeniffer's clothes. Once clad in some fabulous garments they attempt to use the megascope and freak out some random people. Then Yen interrupts and spoils the fun
. I was laughing so hard during that quest.

Fuck. Can't craft any runes at blacksmiths any more for some reason. Keeps saying I have zero in my inventory when I have like 10 of the damage ones to turn into Greater ones >_<

What how did I miss this, all I remember doing was
playing I never, a round of gwent and listening to lambert make fun of vesemir

As poster above said (too long to quote)

Scrolling through items is my biggest gripe in the game. I avoid it whenever I can. Takes a second to load each category. Hope they can somehow address it in a later patch.
I've prolly put 20hrs into just inventory management. F.e I wish there was a list of alchemy ingredients that aren't needed after a certain decotion/potion.

I have so much crap in my quest inventory that I feel I don't even need anymore.

That quest isn't
with Hjalmar, it's with Blueboy Lugos and you trigger it by going to a tavern (in Lofoten, I think?) and having a random scene play out that ends with you being forced to take on the quest. You can't miss the scene if you do the witcher contract in that area, since the scene is tied to that quest giver.

Looks like I need to reload lol. Luckily I stopped playing right after Geralt wakes up.

I swear that I've killed about 100 enemies with headshots. The trophy won't popppppppp.

I had to kill 101 Bandits in
Devils Pit
to get the Trophy. You can see and feel if your hit counts as a headshot, when the controller and the screen shake for a short moment.

Yes, you're right. I got the sons mixed up lol.

Hey guys, I'm about to start the game soon the PC and have few performance related questions:

Spec:
GTX 980
3570k @ 4.4
16GB RAM

Target: 1080p60 playable at all times (don't mind rare drops to the low 50s)

Should I update my GPU drivers (Nvidia)? I'm currently at 347.88
I've heard the latest few nvidia drivers were awful

What graphic options should I start with If I want to achieve my playable target?

Also any ETA on the next patch?

I've asked this in the PC Performance thread, but it is kinda dead now

Hello guys. Just bought the game and having great fun. One thing really bothers me though. I thought font issue was fixed (i am on ps4) but i am still having a difficulty reading books, character details etc. My eyes are perfectly fine. But the fonts, they are just too damn small. Anybody else having the same problem or did the devs say anything about like customizable fonts in the future? My tv is 40".

It's been like that since the last patch unfortunately (PS4). Good thing I spent thousands on all those rune-crafting diagrams!

I can feel a shitty ending in my future based on how the
recruiting allies is going. Some small decision early on are biting me in the ass apparently. Dijkstra and Emhyr var Emreis won't help. Crache just gave me the most amazing sword man has ever set eyes on, which was significantly less powerful than the sword I was already using. At least Roche, Keira Metz, Zoltan, Ermion agreed to come, and Cerys sent her brother. I'm guessing there are others I just don't have access to like the Bloody Baron or something. I didn't want to do a min/max playthrough my first time so I accepted a lot of decisions along the way and have stayed spoiler free this long but I didn't anticipate this type of recruitment mission. I hope I don't end up with a terrible ending after all this time.

I actually thought the same thing, but both Emhyr and Dijkstra deny you any help regardless of what you do. They both denied me, but I still got the achievement to have all possible allies at Kaer Morhen.

So if I get the
"It Takes Three to Tango" quest...I'm guessing my chances with Yen or Triss are fucked? After getting on the boat and talking to Yen, she basically says "You're no longer on either of our minds"...

Still (slowly) working my way through this game, reckon it'll last me months at this rate!

Currently doing the
Broken Flowers quest line, chuckled at the 50 shades of grey reference, always nice to see a little nod to current (ish) popular culture, also quite liked the transvestite elf, interest theme, especially the point about not assuming that he was gay just because he chose to wear womans clothing.
Didn't think it was polite to ask him why he wore them!

Man, this game! Put in a significant amount of time today... got to Level 11. Completed a bunch of sidequests and main quests in Velen, found all the Griffin Witcher Armour and Weapon diagrams and crafted them.

Also finally completed the Bloody Baron questline which was amazing, it never ceases to amaze me how much effort is put into these quest stories.
In my ending he ended up hanging himself after Anna dies at the hands of the Crones. I notice that may have had something to do with me freeing the spirit in the tree. Anyone kill the spirit in their game? It was a sad ending, but fitting I think. The relationship he had with his family was venomous and not something that would be solved after getting her back from what I saw. A happy ending would have felt out of place.

I've never understood these kinds of posts. Of course you'll be able to max it out at 1080p/60. I have a 970 and an i5 @ 4.0 with 8GB RAM and I played 68 hours at 1080p/60, the only drops I ever experienced were in particularly populated areas of Novigrad and even then they were only very temporary drops to about 55.

So if I get the
"It Takes Three to Tango" quest...I'm guessing my chances with Yen or Triss are fucked? After getting on the boat and talking to Yen, she basically says "You're no longer on either of our minds"...

Did you
tell them both that you loved them? If so, you're fucked. If you didn't tell either of them that you love them, I assume you're still fucked.

Finally beat the game and got the good ending. One of the best 33 days of my life.
I'll definiltely jump back in when the new game + released later.

Foliage distance to High. Hair works off. Shadows to Medium(no real difference to Ultra here).

New drivers are fine for most.

No way I'm going to do a second playthrough with how long this game is. Damn, feels bad man.

God damn this game is so long. I keep wanting to get back to it but it's just so daunting. Now that Batman's coming out tomorrow I just don't know when I'll ever get to play it again.
