The short track officials have been slightly odd these Olympics.

The gold medalist from one of the races on Thursday managed to blatantly push someone over in the semi finals and get away with it.

Wow these are really the olympic games from hell. Media crying about bad skis but if they have a big team working for weeks on just one thing how could they even get it so wrong compared to the others. Seems the program leading up to this tournament has just been out of whack.

BBC just said Elise Christie was given a DNF because she skated off track right before the finish line. Her skates did not cross over the line.

Our cross country skier just said that she felt like she will be roasted from inside when she finish with her race today.

norway with the massive failures. what in the fuck is going on.

The waxing. There is no nation in the world that spends as much money on waxing as Norway, and they manage to fuck it up so royally on the most important event, which only comes around every 4 years. People are going to get fired, because this is fucking pathetic. Money is obviously being thrown out the window.

I can't be the waxing only. Bjørgen looked really tired after just 1-2 km. She can usually do much longer races without looking tired at all at the end.

Damn, I'm reading that Norway were the unquestioned favorites in this race and that they've won every cross country relay since 2009 including gold in Vancouver 2010, and that the women who make up their team are the top 4 women in the world standings.

You got 4th out of 4 Ter Mors, that was really bad.

I don't even care how the commentator is saying how 4th is decent, that was some passive bullshit. God that sucked.

Agreed. Someone like Björgen, who is usually in a class of her own completely in the world, would still be doing better than this if the only problem was the waxing. I'm not buying that as the complete explanation for why Norway has not been performing as expected. It is a bit of a mystery, but I'm not sure they'll be doing much better in the rest of the competitions with all the pressure and all the scapegoating apparently going on over there right now.

But Charlotte Kalla. Charlotte fucking Kalla. What a herculean performance, I was blown away completely. She is now the most successful olympic woman cross-country skier in Swedish history (three medals in these games alone - so far). Well earned. Kudos to the rest of the team as well, they all performed admirably.

Hopefully, but her confidence will be in tatters.

Not to mention she took a lot of shit from cyber bullies. A few of the ones I saw before they were taken down were like "you cost our skater gold you *bleep*". I can't imagine Korean fans were too happy with her, but that's the nature of short track speed skating, and she lost her medal. Why hold such a grudge.
