This is all the more reason to enjoy the Games and what they actually stand for. It's the same reason we can, say, enjoy Jesse Owen's performance in the 1936 Olympics, which was run by actual fucking Nazis. Similar moments may present themselves in these Games for all we know. Sports has a unique ability to transcend politics. That's the core concept behind the Olympics themselves.

I usually watch Winter Olympics for opening and closing, none of the winter sports interests me.
It's still a sporting event regardless of the location, and some people care about the olympic event. I hope we can have a thread about the sports and the event without political pollution.

Same here. Snowboarding is really all I watch the winter games for. I mean I'll have it on in the background and sorta pay attention to other events. I do like watching the speed ski stuff too.
The music in the opening ceremony was great. Really enjoyed that aspect of it.
