That's where the athletes are going to sit.
The Russian anthem is pretty boss. Great rendition too.
North Korea would have nailed that flag.
Awesome anthem as usual.
I guess we'll see what happens next. Feels pretty boring compared to the London opening ceremony. Maybe I'm too Westernized.
Yeah but this is a $51 billion Winter Olympics.Well the winter Olympics are a bit smaller than the summer Olympics, so keep that in mind. Also the Beijing opening was the best thing ever so non western countries have no excuse![]()

What the... that's it? I remember the London opening ceremony taking at least an hour or something before the athletes entered. Or am I mistaken?
So many empty seats in that front on camera shot. Director shouldn't be using that view ever again.
Yeah, it was great how they showed all the various peoples of China in their native dress that they've tried so hard to marginalize and eradicate.
Seems the athlete march is early this time, so I guess they must've planned for the event to have a shorter introduction before that, so it isn't noticeable for the rest of the night.I know the athletes sit there, but it's not good visuals with the empty seats there. Seems like an easy problem to fix with all that they spent
was that the end of the ceremony?
Can't be right?
Another good thing about the winter olympics, the march in of the athletes doesn't take forever.
London got Bond and Queen.
NBC never shows anything live, every time. Their coverage is always awful.
Wow, that clocked in at 15 minutes.
Edit: ah good to know there is more.
Stopped by my parents house and saw the first 20 minutes of opening ceremonies on CBC HD.
Tried to stream it at work, but it's blocked in the US. So we actually get the Vancouver affiliate on Comcast in Seattle, but can't watch online. Figures.
