When will shops in the UK realise that US candy (but not chocolate) and sodas are superior and sell them, so that I don't have to pay £1.20 a can in specialist stores?

Lots of American food stuffs are prohibited from general supplier sale as they do not conform to health standards of the EU.. ie too loaded with sugar or high-fructose corn syrup so you will only ever be able to get it from places that order small scale, thus the inflated price.

I always wondered do Republicans actually love Jesus or just pretend to out of fear of god? It seems to me Jesus would be for a lot of the things they are most against.

This saddens me.

This is such a loaded question that I'm not even going to begin to tackle it

Why can a movie, at the end of its credit sequence, say the typical line of "all persons places, etc are fictional..." when the movie had the real people, etc.?

fictional depiction of real people / legal cover-your-ass lingo just in case some nutjob does something crazy in the name of the film...

Ok now this is just weird.
A few minutes ago,the glass plate that was on the table just EXPLODED on its own for no reasons!
This is crazy shit can someone give me a rational explanation as to why this happened?
Did that already happened to you?

I need to type up all these notes from one my textbooks, but a friend told me there was a program that allows you to extract the text from scanned images from textbooks. Is this real?

Hot plate on it ?

I put a pizza with it's plate on my glass table, turn my back to get the pizza slicer, heard the loudest noise ever in my back, I turn back and... the glass table wasn't anymore. Pizza also felt on the ground ;(

Or sunrays ?

Or cyclic resonances ?

Or Anderson's localization ?

Maybe you were accidentally cursed by Whoompthereitis in the psychic thread.

Have you tasted American Coke? It's disgusting

So everyone's seen this.

I'm looking for the rest of these comics. I remember one where they are going on a trip and he wants to bring his blow up doll, and one where his dad asks him to watch some football. Anyone remember seeing them?

So as a Junior wanting to learn more about GAF, what's the story behind the "give Evilore 50 bucks" GAFmeme?

I keep [strikethrough]hearing[/strikethrough] reading it in conjunction with "NeoGAF Gold" and something about being banned.

It's related to this thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=381926

Fistfulofmetal was complaining about how adblockers can result in a ban. EvilLore then banned him. The exchange is in the op. It was pretty funny actually.

Just got a Kindle and I'm looking to fill it up with some good reading material. I was specifically curious about Ender's Game. Would that hold up for a 30 year old man or is it more meant for teens and young adults? Also, what work would be the best entree into HP Lovecraft books?

Ender's Game is a really good book, adults will enjoy it too. Even though the primary characters are children I doubt Card was writing it specifically for kids.

Is it true that people from Berlin pronounce 'ch' like 'ck'? Some british guys I know always says "ick" when they're saying "ich". I've never heard anyone pronounce it that way, but in the german version of She Loves You they sing "Sie Liebt Dick" (hehe), so I guess that british people learn the Berlin way of saying it. But ti's still weird that I've never heard about it before.

Any germans here who knows this stuff?

If you're into sci-fi make sure you get The Night's Dawn trilogy.

I recently read it for the first time (Ender's game). Excellent read. The story revolves around a child, but it has themes that adults can enjoy. I actually don't think I would have enjoyed it as much had I read it when I were 13.

How can I get the list of all sophomore students on the University of Nevada School of Medicine?

I met this girl and I have no way to reach her. :$

Not really a direct question, but damn. After over 10 years, my email account just got a phishing email for the first time. Email was about some bullshit accusing me of being a gold farmer and wanted me to verify my account/give personal info.

Wonder how they got a hold of my email...? I only give out my email to select, legit websites to avoid such things as this.

You mean without a court order?

Some schools have networking sites where you can search for your fellow students or fellow alumni. Others don't.

Your best bet is probably to ask around. How big is the sophomore class, anywho?

Hello guys and gals. I have a question about computer RAM. I'm doing some research regarding buying a new computer and am contemplating the difference between buying a factory made computer and building one.

So I saw this one and it looks pretty good for the price, especially since it has 8GB of ram expandable to 16GB. However, looking at some RAM on the site to see how much it would be to buy RAM outright, I saw this set of 4 GB of RAM that was amazingly expensive, and I was just wondering if the expensive RAM is really that much faster than the RAM I'd be buying with the computer above.

In other words, if I built a computer and bought this type of expensive RAM (and thus made my computer replacement far more expensive than buying a factory made), would I really see a huge boost in performance by comparison?

Guys, what's the policy on Best Buy's price match? Will they do that for Amazon purchases?
Yes. Last time I did that, they went online to confirm then matched the price (I might have received an additional discount as well but I can't recall precisely).

Ok sorry for the late answer I wasn't home.
The plate was in Pyrex and I learned that Pyrex glass sometimes exploses.
The weird thing though is that it wasn't on a hot plate nor it had hot food on it,but whatever.
I won't be using Pyrex glass anymore.

Anyone help me with RAM differences? All the articles I'm finding online are a few years old so they're outdated. :(
