So, Burger King now has TV's displaying there menues instead of the old slides. I'm wondering aren't the slides a better money saver then TV's?

Misanthropist is indeed the word for that.

Is it possible the dude used the wrong word or coined one?

I know but when he used the word it was one I had never heard before and I was already familiar with misanthropist/misanthrope. I even looked it up in my 1930's O.E.D. and it was in there so he didn't make it up. I could manually look through it until I find it but as much as I love words, that prospect doesn't excite! :)

Does anyone know what this is actually from? Does the child really start crying when the raptor appears?
The raptor wasn't part of the original documentary.

Jesus Camp follows several young children as they prepare to attend a summer camp where the kids will get their daily dose of evangelical Christianity. Becky Fischer works at the camp, which is named Kids on Fire. Through interviews with Fischer, the children, and others, Jesus Camp illustrates the unswerving belief of the faithful. A housewife and homeschooling mother tells her son that creationism has all the answers. Footage from inside the camp shows young children weeping and wailing as they promise to stop their sinning. Child after child is driven to tears. Juxtapose these scenes with clips from a more moderate Christian radio host (who is appalled by such tactics), and Jesus Camp seems to pose a clear question: are these children being brainwashed?

I need help looking for a fan made comic. It shows this overweight kid and his mom is in his room about to clean, but he panics because he's worried she'll see what's on his computer. After he gets rid of her he sits there and admires it. Does anyone have this?

Is it in this style?

I have a Sony Bravia, don't know the model no. but I bought it in Feb 2008 so it must be from 2007. Whenever most of the screen is dark and there's a relatively very very small amount of pixels lit up, the screen automatically dims. I get that it's a fail-safe to protect the screen somehow, but it's totally annoying sometimes and I want to override it. Anyone know if it's possible?

So I jumped in on the 3DTV bandwagon last week with my new apartment, and wasn't particularly impressed with the way the glasses look or feel (3D itself was great, I'm talking about the glasses themselves).

Fast forward to today, bought some new ones and wow... they are much lighter and MUCH more comfortable, but feel somewhat cheaper (as a result of the lower weight, I think) compared to the ones that came with the new TV.

Anyway, my question is: did Panasonic put some old-ass first-gen 3D glasses in an October 2011 manufactured 3DTV?

Does anybody have a link to that topic from the user who was offering graphic design work? I might need something done and liked some of the work I saw.

I've been trying to remember two shows that I was watching as a child(late 80s). They must have been american though I'm not sure.

1. It was about an old man and his robot granddaughter. It was a cute little girl that was actually a robot. She would beat naughty boys and stuff. I remember scenes where she would lift them up in the air or the old man repairing her from a panel on her back.

2.This was a typical show about a big family living together. There were were kids,parents,grandfathers... The most popular of them must have been a blonde uncle. I remember a scene in the living room where he tried jumping from the first floor to the couch below but he landed on the floor.

Sounds like Small Wonder, but that was a family, not an old man.

Lilith is actually a bit of an icon in feminist circles, because she refused to let Adam control her and chose to leave the garden instead. Not only that, but she was created from the Earth just like Adam, making them equals. Naming her Eve would be more misogynist, in my opinion, considering the character is created from Adam's rib (and thus considered his property) and then tempts him, often taking the entirety of blame for the Fall.

Interesting. I didnt know Lilith was a feminist icon.

I can't start threads so I thought I'd put this here.

I am playing MW3 on survival mode, and at certain waves you get insane stuff like suicide bombers, dogs with explosives and chemical soldiers with gas emitting out of their backpacks. I know it's a game, but I was wondering if stuff like this really exists or not. Also, are there suits that can really absorb a whole magazine of bullets (those juggernaut suits)? I know they look like those bomb experts but do military organizations really have soldiers outfitted like that? Does this stuff exist?

This is a problem specific to Firefox, and I don't know if I have some add-on activated that does this, but I do not see an "Edit" option for my own posts. I see the multiquote button, but there's no Quote | Edit option beside it like there is in Chrome. Anyone else experience this?

No, it's fine for me in Firefox.

Have you tried disabling your extensions one at a time and re-starting Firefox to see if it is due to that?

Also, forgive me if this sounds insulting, but you are logged into GAF, yes?

So I just submitted a repair to Nintendo, and have received the label to put on my package etc.

It was regarding the home button no longer working, but I also remembered about the scratched top screen too. Is there a way I can add this to my submission..?

I suppose you could place a note inside the package asking to do something about the screen, but I don't know much about Nintendo's repair policy nowadays so that might not be an option.

Hm, could work - there's no option to edit the details on their website, so I guess this is the only way...?

Like I said, it's been a while since I've had to use Nintendo's repair service. Did you already pay? Because if not, then that would make things much easier. You could also try calling their customer service and let them know you're sending them something, and try to get them to help you that way.

It's still under warranty, so any repairs are free. And I don't have time to call, needs to be sent of ASAP. I'll try the note idea. Thanks!

Ah, should've figured that would happen.
What is this character from?

I just turned on the gas fire place in my house for the first time ever and now the whole place stinks and I'm feeling a little light headed.

Normal?

I...you...what? No, most people don't get light headed when they turn on their fireplaces. Open a window and turn it off.

I think its burning off oils, dust and whatever coating is on those fake logs. I've got some windows cracked but I'm going to push on.

Besides, the high is mildly pleasant.

This, and maybe call the gas company or landlord if you rent and it does not get better. It should be free for them to check for a gas leak.

The only way to tell if it is better is to leave for a few minutes then come back. If you stay in the house the you will not be able to notice the change.

Heh, if you figure this one out please post what it was. Your post made me realize I've got it going on on my end as well.

Edit: No I don't... I'm goddam retarded. Let this post be a monument to all my idiocy.

Open all of your windows and turn off the gas and if the smell persists, get out and call the gas company.

Google "carbon monoxide poisoning" and see if those symptoms apply to you, or not.

Please don't be macho and carry on regardless. Carbon monoxide is not something to be trifled with.
