I always wait, even when other people go ahead, because I've been hit by a car at an intersection before when I was on foot.

I'd cross. Teach the kid that 90% of the pedestrian signals are badly programmed and should be ignored.

Red means "look to see if clear to cross"
White means "look to see if clear to cross"
 
I have a question. Why are there kids who still wear a t-shirt and shorts outside when it is 15 degrees(Fahrenheit), a foot of snow on the ground, and everyone else around them is freezing their asses off in pants/jackets/hats/gloves? I highly doubt these kind of kids aren't freezing their asses off too, so why do they do it?

Eh, I used to do it all the time when I didn't live in California. Shorts and tank tops were much more comfortable for me, and I just got used to it I guess. It also didn't help that my parents didn't have much spending money for a long time, so I would have to wear the same sets of clothes for years at a time, so when something finally ripped, all I had left was some shorts and shirts to wear.

And, like EYEL1NER, I absolutely love the cold weather. I wish I could move back to somewhere cold again.

I'm 22 years old, not really a kid. But I wear shorts and short-sleeved shirts in the dead of winter. It's only about 20 degrees here in the morning, but I love the cold. I shaved my arms and went and got a skin-fade with my last hair-cut so now I am a tiny bit more cold.

My mom told me it was supposed to be -3 degrees back home a little while back and with windchill, about -12. I only wish I could have been there to experience it.

I abso-fucking-lutely love the cold. It's the best...

No clue what today's NFL (or NCAA, for that matter) rules say about 0-0. Actually, they'd probably treat it just like any other tie- you play overtimes until one team scores (NFL), or until one team is ahead after both teams have had an equal number of chances to score (college).

You what? 20 degrees is a warm day in the uk :lol though I only bust out the shorts when it hits 30.

Random thought after watching Berserk today and theres a girl soilder who doesent seem to mind being naked or at least half naked but anyways

Why is it almost universally ok for men to be "topless" but not women?
Like It would be surprising if I went to the beach and all the women were topless but its normal for men to be like it. I mean they dont tell fat men with moobs to cover up as far as im aware.

Because female breats in our society have a sexual meaning. That's what we've been told for centuries now, so it has become a standard.
Men's breasts don't.

Now if you want to know, how this happened in the first place, well, I guess you have to go back to the bronze age or something like that.
Women probably covered their breats because they were so vital to their offspring and because they radiate a lot of heat.
 
There was a book published a while back about identities in online games. The cover was white, and had a holographic effect that shifted between a player and his in-game avatar.

I can't for the life of me remember the title and there's been so many books about online games since then I can't find it anymore.

Hey GAF, there's a Fox in my garden, he's cute and all but he won't leave so I can't let my cat out - they don't usually show themselves during the day and usually bolt at the first sign of humans, but this guy just keeps stalking up and down my garden and when I go out there he scampers away to the end of the garden and just stares at me. Lol, how do I scare him away?

Do pre-op male to female transsexuals get periods? same about post op and female to male transsexuals?

Nope for m2f pre-op or post-op. For f2m possibly depending how far along hormone treatment is.

I knew its a stupid question from the start, but I thought the female hormones might stir up something akin to periods. I guess I was wrong.

I'll gladly stand in on this one. Panther's right, you need ovaries to have a period, though hormones could in theory lead to PMS-like mood effects.

(Other side effects of hormone replacement therapy include reduced sex drive. Thankfully.)

I'm not sure what would be akin to a period, but I don't blame you at all for asking, considering the accurate thread title. But the question itself may indicate a complete misunderstanding of what a period is (or exactly what being a post-op tranny entails).

Ok, so I'm watching Episode III and something pops up that I never thought about. How did they have the Vader suit so quickly? Did Sidious forsee Vader getting his ass kicked and losing a couple of limbs?

The movie pacing makes it seem like it happens faster than it really does. Anakin was likely just kept on life-support until the suit was ready - although, given how advanced the galaxy's technology was, I imagine it didn't take long at all to fashion a suit for him.
 
I'm looking to get a licensed copy of Windows XP (UK) but Amazon is throwing prices like £80 at me when they sell Windows 7 for just a little more. Is there anywhere I can get it cheaper? I just need a simple OS to get an old tablet up and running again as I can't find the original windows CD but I was hoping it would be a little cheaper due to the age of the software. Is ebay my best bet or is that dodgy territory for legal windows purchases?

This is false.

In the NFL after one OT, the game ends as a tie and is recorded as such.

Only college has the teams playing forever.

I was wondering about something, when people are referred to as being of Caucasian race, obviously refers to white people. Some people in Europe (e.g. Czechs, Serbians etc.) look a good bit darker than me, are they still Caucasian? What race is an Italian?
