Why dont gas pumps at self serve have an option to put an exact monetary amount and when you pump the gas it will automatically stop at $20 lets say.

It always happens to me. I stop at $19.99 and I have to have the reflexes of Superman to get the 0.01 especially with gas so high and the amount going up so fast.

Isnt this common sense or is there some reason behind not having it? Canada btw, not sure if its different in America.
Why don't you just stop at $19.99?
Is the extra cent of gas that important?

Most places require you to go inside first when you pay with cash, that's how it is in NY anyways. Maybe you should keep change in your car, most people who don't smoke use the ashtray for spare change. Back in my hayday I could nail the $20 mark everytime, but since I've switched to credit cards my skills have deteriorated.

Wait, is this serious? In Europe, or at least Portugal, you press some buttons (€5, €10, or whatever) then put pump the gas until it hits your desired amount. Then it stops.

Are you saying you can't do that in Canada? For real?

what is a courtesy flush? I've heard this term used before, but still don't know what it means.

You're taking a shit in a public restroom. To reduce the smell, as a courtesy to others, you flush before you're completely done.

I think it's disgusting. I would never flush a public toilet while I was still sitting on it.

Not asking how to pump gas. I know I could stop, lol. The question still stands though.

And in Ontario atleast, you just go to a pump, fill up, then pay. Would just seem like a common sense thing to do to put a system where I can enter an amount and the system would automatically stop at whatever amount I put?

In the United States, at least every gas station I've ever been to in my life, you pay before you pump, either be swiping your credit card or going inside and paying cash. If you pay cash you just hand the guy $20 and tell him the pump number. The pump will stop at exactly $20 worth of gas.

I always just fill it up though on my CC, whenever I try to put less than a full tank the gas ends up being more expensive when I go back the next time and I end up paying more in the long run.

I have a file on my pc which wont delete, it says its being used by the system but its not, ive ctrl-alt-del and opened up the system tray, ive restarted and i cant find anything located to it to disable so i can delete it. It also seems to be making the particular folder its in slow to open, really slow. Ive used 3 anti virus programmes and all say my computer is clean, ive scanned that particular folder 10 times with the most up to date software and nothing. The file in question is a daemon tools file for those interested. So what im looking for is a good programmed for deleting files which just dont want to go, it would be a big help.

Cheers

Ironically i just fixed it myself, i did ctrl-x to cut the item and moved it to another folder, then deleted it

THanks anyway mate :D awesome sauce

Sorry to do this so soon after a, seemingly inane, question, but something i may aswell ask. I have a midi keyboard which i would love to plug into my pc and record the music from the keys. So far ive been using a desk mic and as you can guess the audio quality is far from par, inaudible mostly. I have a midi to usb cable on the way,the keyboard manual itself states that the keyboard is built to use on a pc, however divulges no such information as the next step. I am sceptical that it is as simple as "plug in, itll work" so im wondering what software i need for the music to translate to the pc. I am good for pc recording software, if i can get the sound coming into the pc (VHscr Cap is what i use for this) but ive no idea what programmes i can use. So far im of the belief that all will happen when i plug the usb in is that an external drive will show up on the computer menu.

Some of the 24 hour petrol stations here (Australia) make you pay upfront at night time, but otherwise it's just fill-fill-fill, then go in and pay.

Does anybody know what to do with the Email address info in my GAF profile which was used for registering at GAF when I can't use it anymore?
I suppose I won't get banned off GAF for not having a proper Email address after signing up with one. At some point in the future the University Email address I provided is not going to work anymore and I still would like to be able to subscribe to some threads. Is there any way of changing this email address to a public email address? Mods cant do anything about that I suppose?

Okay, for some reason I just thought about this today. I drove somewhere else to get some food during my lunchbreak at work, and I notice a school bus. Now with all the laws here saying you're supposed to wear seat belts all of the time, why don't kids in these school buses wear them? From the times I've ridden in them back in elementary school, not once do I recall a seat belt being there.

Some links I found on google. Might be interesting for you. Only skipped through it and might be what you are looking for.

Go out, have a walk, drink a good beer, a cig, talk with your friends (or do it alone, sometimes it's wonderful to be alone), if you can, i suggest taking walks with an ocean view, on winter. Go watch a movie per month. It's not expensive. Search for cheaps pleasures. I'd rather take a walk on a garden than have a multi million dollar company. If you have to, eat ramen every single day. There are some magnificent ramen, and those are never very expensive.

Have a cheap car. An old, reliable car. Don't enjoy the gears or the soft steering, but the view, the passenger. Even better, have a bike. Move to some strange, beautiful, rural, far away land, like Nova Scotia, Faroe Islands, Northern Scotland, Northern Netherlands, inner Portugal, etc.

Keep a journal with the things you'd like to do, but can't on the moment. Live to mark as done every single dream on that journal.

Enjoy each and every single day. Right now, wouldn't you like to have a drink? Even if it's a cup of coffee. Just go. And live simply, slowly. Time won't go away. Like bjork said, it's not a race, it's a journey.

Isn't it bannable to harass someone by flaming them and calling them Junior? Or is this apparently allowed?

Allowed. And will never be bannable. You have it in your hand to get out of the Junior state and there is a good reason for juniors being trolled. Most people getting banned or flaming something are juniors. Everytime new juniors come in, look into any ps3/360 game thread and you will see juniors getting banned for trolling.
Lets see it as an initiation rite.

Can any New Yorkers give me advice on cheap hostels to stay at?? will be in NY for 5 days and plan to save on money and eat a shit load of NY pizza and hot dogs, also if anyone can recommend a budget airline which flies from LA to NY and then to Vegas I would really appreciate it :D

So GAF, I seem to have what I think is a wisdom tooth rotting away (it's the very back tooth on the upper right side. There's no more space for any teeth behind it, so I'm going to assume it's a wisdom tooth), and it's starting to hurt. However, I'm on a very limited income and only have Medicaid, which doesn't cover dental. What should I do?

Make an appointment with a doctor (if that isn't too much money) and find out if it's something serious or not.

Ah come on, I said the exact same thing but more efficiently! Praise ME, love ME!

Ok, don't. It's ok. I liked his post too.

Question about skin care.

Vitamin A and C are good for your skin. Is it better to take a vitamin capsule of each (or maybe a multivit) every day or use vitamin based skin products? Sure buying oranges works too but bugger that.

So last week saturday my friends and I were boozin' and smokin' in my room. I didn't want to smell up my room full of smoke so I ordered them to blow out through the window.. or at least keep the smoke coming into my room to a minimal. Didn't really work though. A week later now my room still has a vauge hint of smoke hanging around somewhere. I smelled my cuishons, couch, bed, but that all smells normal.

How the fuck can I get the smoke smell out of my room?

It may not be bannable, but I think there's a chance that trolling could backfire and leave you with a "junior" status. Don't quote me on that, but it might have happened before.

Try opening all your windows and place a fan in front of them to help blow out the air. Then try spraying air fresheners around the room. Another possible method, albeit a bit odd, is placing fabric softener sheets around the room. I accidentally burned some food a while back and my father did this to help remove the odor.

I'm an editor for a gaming website in Middle East, I write game reviews and stuff (based on retail versions till now) Could anyone give me an advise on how to get in contact with publishers PR for requesting review copies? (especially SCEE). I mean finding their email and contact detail.

This usually happens to me when my father smokes right next to my room window. I use deodorant and air fresheners.

One of my family members told me that filling your roomup with strong food (that is, if you want to smell that kinda food for a couple of days) will quicky get rid of the smell too

scented candles might work too, so give it a try! good luck man

What´s the best (and affordable) way to get your teeth white?

I don´t have stained/discoloured teeth (don´t drink coffee or smoke), but the natural colour of my enamel is yellow-ish, especially the canines. It sucks :/

Will do all these things.

one of my cats fangs seems like its out of place or it could be loose. Should i go see a vet or could it just be a baby tooth about to fall?

I've had her for about 2months now.

Get crest whitening toothpaste. Work pretty well.

Do like animals have periods too? And like if you had a white female dog/cat would there be blood on their fur?
