You have to put his nose in the urine, you're the boss man, he gotta respect you.
I made my cat cry, but he knows who's the boss. Seriously he was sobbing. He shat on my bed, two days in a row, so it was deserved.

Put him under cold water afterwards (hold him by the neck)!

Get rid of your cat and replace it with:

- another cat
- a dog
- a new laptop

I remember reading about a unix command that would essentially destroy a system or at least kill it until you reboot. Anybody know what it is?

(it's not a kill command, I remember it looking pretty weird)

Do like animals have periods too? And like if you had a white female dog/cat would there be blood on their fur?
Yes. Our poodle is white and whenever she has her period, we can tell because of the blood on her fur. It's usually just a little bit of blood when it starts for her.

Either man up and assert your dominance or take him to the vet for castration.

The castration is for you. The cat is there to drive you back home. The vet just does it nice and cheap.

Act fast - if a female stray in heat starts to hang around your house, your cat will destroy you in order to get to her. Then, if you're still alive, you will hear the most horrific sounds you have ever heard.

if i'm getting a new 32inch tv lcd, do I need hdmi cables, or is that only for the big screens?
Yes, definitely.

HDMI is required if you want digital, uncompressed high-definition video and 8-channel uncompressed audio... all in one cord. The alternative in 99% of cases is component, which not only isn't digital, but doesn't carry audio either. Not to mention HDMI cables are less than $2 each.

They do, but theyre pretty good at taking care of it outside.

Do male dogs have nipples, and if so, how many?

do you guys think one armed push ups are harder with your hand above the shoulder or below??
I would think below because of pressure coming more heavily from above your shoulder, just a guess though.

Hey GAF maybe you can help me out?

I'm looking for a song that sounds a whole lot like crazy in love from Beyonce, but i'm sure it wasnt sung by her. The lyrics where basically identical, i think.

The whole song had a more jazzy/soul vibe to it, it was sung by a women.

So the search option was shut off a while ago but recently I started getting this different message.
Username, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
Is everyone else getting this when they try to search their history or is it just me?

I have a bit of a council tax problem... I live with 2 other people and one of them has to pay council tax because he's in full-time employment (38k a year) but me and the other don't have to pay because we're at university (exempt). He says he needs help to pay his council tax and the other housemate is agreeing to help him pay it. He wants money from me but I don't see why I should pay. He won't give it back to me, he basically wants a donation.

Am I in the wrong or is it he who shouldn't be asking money from me to pay his council tax? And what should I say to him? I'm not very good at telling people to go do one. Help GAF!

Not entirely functional, regular user don't have permission. I guess it's reserved to mods and such.

Question for you, heroes of J-GAF: does Disk Union ship internationally? I'm contemplating picking up the Hausu soundtrack and maybe some other Godiego CDs, but a lot of good that'll do me if I can't get them shipped to Fortress of Amerikkka.

Okay, this one is going to be odd, there is no way around it, but I'll ask it anyways: I shit, on average, once every four to five days. I know this in uncommonly infrequent, but recently it has come to my attention that this might be unhealthy. Should I be worried, GAF? Do I need to let a scary man in a lab coat stick something up my poo-hole, or am I being paranoid?

I hate to say it but I'm the same way. I think it can mostly be attributed to the fact that I don't drink much of anything, let alone water. So I'm probably perpetually dehydrated but I'm not 100% sure whats wrong either. Do you find that you don't drink much?

You're right, I don't. And, when I do, it's usually something rather unhealthy--like soda. Mystery solved? Sphincter saved?

Also, holy balls, you're Maklershed of CAG fame, right? I was at one time a big CAG poster; although, there I posted under the name of Short Round.

Just you. However, I get a special double search to make up for it.

Nah, the search feature is down. Use site:neogaf.com/forum in google.

I was wondering if it's best to watch shows that have trouble ratings wise on Hulu since I don't have a Nelson box? For shows like Better of Ted and Chuck, I record it on my DVR and have them added to my Hulu queue. I decide on which to watch it on depending my mood, but it would be no trouble at all for me to only watch them on Hulu.

On the flip side, seeing as Hulu makes so much less than TV viewers, do they see a large number of Hulu viewers as a bad thing? In my mind the networks put their shows online only to provide a legal alternative that at least makes them some money.

Thoughts?

Yep thats me. Howdy.

And yeah I guess we're gonna have to start chugging water to fix our problem. :lol

I'm looking for a first time home buyers thread but my forum searches have failed me. I would imagine there has to be a thread. I've been going to home showings with a realtor, but I don't really know what to look for...

If someone knows of a thread or a good website, can you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

When female animals go into heat, yes. That is, they're looking for a mate.

You know that in a store there are thousands of brands made by hundreds of companies, how does that money when you buy a product at a store get back to the company that made it?

The store already bought the item.

Can one of the A/V nuts give me a quick rundown on 3D TV? I just got back from watching Manchester United thrash Arsenal in 3D (the first 3D sports broadcast in the world) and it was amazing, so I defiantly want to experience it as much as I can.

Sky are launching an 3D channel in a few months and they say that it will require a 3D TV, even though they aren't on the market yet. Will the broadcast work with any 'old' HDTV in a limited way, or are 3DTV's a necessity for such broadcasts?

Also, how do they work?

Are there any kinds of 'competing' 3D technologies (I'm sure that I've read about ones that don't require the glasses) or has the industry agreed on the type of technology that I've used (that requires the glasses).

I'm guessing that it will be at least a few years before 3DTV's come down in price and the technology develops so that it can hit the mainstream.

Has anybody else seen 3DTV, what did you think of it?

It doesn't directly, but if the store notices that people are buying more of brand X, then they will buy more of it to stock. The company makes its money when it sells the product to the store, not to you, but the stores will only buy what people buy.

I saw some models in September that used the RealD glasses. Saw clips from Avatar and The Final Destination and the looked as good as at the theater.

If 3D is here to stay FINALLY, then I will buy a 3D set. Will be great to catch up on all the flicks from my childhood that have been trapped in 2D for so long.

Two super nerd questions:

1. Is the best order to read Asimov's Foundation Series to go to Wikipedia and sort by publication date?

2. I know Caprica is set 50 years before Battlestar Galactica, but is there anything that in any way, shape, or form spoils anything in Galactica? (I'm on the 4th season)

There are other people around here that have seen and know much more about 3DTV than I do, so I'm not the best person to ask. I can only comment on the 2 hours or so of 3D football that I saw.

This sums up my thoughts and seems to be the general opinion on the broadcast. The close up shots were amazing and the 3D effect was in full force, everybody loved these shots, they defiantly had the 'wow' factor. These shots are obviously limited to set pieces, replays, close ups etc. When the camera is in its traditional view, the 3D image flattens out and the effect is not as great.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience and the reason that I posted in this topic is because I'm so impressed with the 3D technology. I was at Old Trafford last week for the derby and although nothing will ever beat that feeling, this comes quite close.

Due to the top down view of the camera that I mentioned, I suspect that 3D TV's would truly excel at movies and other formats where the 3D effect does not flatten out as much due to the constant high/wide camera angle.

The glasses weren't a problem either. Everybody wore them so it didn't feel or look stupid. This tech won't work in some casual pubs/bars, but it was perfect for the place that I was in.

There are other 3D technologies too, ones which don't require the glasses. I have no idea about how they look and how they work, that's why I'm so confused as to what future 3DTV's will look like.

If you have seen Avatar, then the technology I experienced is similar in many ways and looked great. For obvious reasons, it's difficult to explain.

It's just a case of watch this space. In a few years time, 3D will be big.

Here's another link.

How will they be 'released' in 3D? Don't they have to be filmed using a specific type of camera, or can 3DTV's combined with the RealD glasses turn any 2D medium into 3D?
