Did we not have any "The decade in retrospect" kind of things last year? Or are we going to do that this year and not count 2000? Or are we going to cheat and include it anyway?

I wanted to see the decade in gaming, movies, and actually notable events laid out, but I don't think I saw any specials, or even any threads on GAF.
 
Does anyone else really not like talking about money? I never thought about why it made me uncomfortable but when one of my friends pointed it out to me, that I didn't like talking about money, it suddenly put things in perspective because I suddenly realized that it was a trait others noticed in me. I'm not really sure what my feelings towards money says about me as a person.

I'd say that is normal. I also don't discuss my income with other people. Most anyone needs to know is "well, I do ok and can pay my bills". Not that I have a high income or anything, it is just no one else business what I have on the bank.

There was a pretty big "best movies of the decade" thread a few months ago. Had a lot of good recommendations in it. I can't remember what the exact name of the thread was though.
 
I'm trying to learn how to edit gifs, specifically to make avatars. I've searched and searched for decent tutorials but cannot seem to find any that explain it well enough. Can anyone enlighten me? Would be much appreciated.
 
I saw a youtube video a while ago .. it was of some weaboo singing an anime song, and he had really weird facial hair; Elvis like sideburns. Anyone got a link?

I think it's done manually but mine was pretty quick.. maybe 10-15 minutes?

When i changed from junior to member after 300 posts it happened within 5min. So wasn't instant but not sure if mods do it manually or just takes a little while to process.

Do you guys become shy around shy people? Social around social people. And have trouble forcing your character on a situation. I was just around a girl who I know is funny, but shy around people she's not comfortable with. There I am - I know I'm funny! - but I fall into shy guy around her too. We could be having sex right now if not. :/

So I know there's lots of people who seem to hate Flash(starting to feel like it's just Apple people, this is being posted on an iMac) and can't wait for it to die. I understand it somewhat due to a lot of things being possible to do with javascript. For the people who want Flash to die, how should animations be done? Seems that Flash is still a very popular method.

I think I know what movie your talking about. Does it start off with a dude playing some type of arcade game or something at a theater or arcade. Then spends the night there and in the morning everyone who saw the comet is turned to a dust like substance?? I can't remember the name though...

I know my personality shifts depending on who's around, and I don't do that consciously, but I tend to do the reverse; if they are outgoing, I clam up, if they are shy, I become outgoing. And so on.
 
I listen to quite a bit of rock music, in all it’s various incarnations. I hate it when “X” band manages to sneak a new album or DVD past me due to having so many interests. Information about tours and studio/writing updates are also welcome, but I’m primarily interested in upcoming releases. What’s the best news site around for that kind of coverage?

Is ratemds.com the best place to find reviews on doctors in my area?

I injured my shoulder about 6 weeks ago while working out. I've been resting it and only do a few light weight benches to test it out but I still feel weakness in my right shoulder. I'm really annoyed that rest hasn't helped any so I'm afraid it may actually be a tear instead of tendonitis or impingement.

im the same way. the way i think of it is like this: think of a theoretical social scale from 1-10. we're both 6s. when around people above a 6, we are happy to chill out. when around people below a 6, we make up for their boringness.

some people are just tooo excitable and outgoing for me. but then some people are fuck boring. im sure a lot of people are like this, really...
 
i wanna whiten my teeth but there are a stupid amount of ways to do it. Buy supplies from store, those small little stations at them mall, dentists. Anyone know if each is as good and long lasting as the last or is a professionally done, $100+ job the only way to go?
 
So GAF. My roommate asks to borrow a text book. Okay, no problem. He's a bit stingy and wants to leech off me, whatever. I give him the text book and a minute later he heads into the bathroom. I look over to his desk a few seconds later when I get up to get a drink...books not there. He's shitting in the bathroom reading it now. Is that incredibly fucked up or am I just prude?

This is just anecdotal evidence, but I got my teeth whitened by a dentist for a $100+ and about a year later the whitening had completely worn off and my teeth were just as yellow as they were before the whitening.

How should I lace these shoes? Do I need to hide the ends under the tongue? I'd like to be able to tighten them a little since the shoes are a bit wide.

Yeah, like I said, I'm a clean person. I even put my fucking backpack through the wash sometimes. To make matters worse, I heard the toilet flush twice and pages turning before and after...

Wipe the outside of it with a Clorox wipe and you should be good. It's a little bit gross.

Well if you want to put them behind the tongue lace them so that you put the laces through the hole from the outside of the shoe. Lace them all the way up until where you want it, then tie them up since the laces lead right under the tongue. Then I just put it in a knot and cut off any excess lace if there's a lot there.
