This is the title of the thread. Emphasis on the word stupid. So isn't it implies that anyone asking a question in this thread is stupid? Since only stupid people tend to ask stupid questions. And anyone willingly to put their question in this thread agrees that their question is stupid right? Since they saw the thread title but they posted anyways.

That's a leap of logic that doesn't necessarily follow. For that to be true you'd have to ignore the idiom's meaning, where "stupid" means insignificant or trivial and does not imply a level of intelligence. Usually, when someone introduces their question with, "Okay, this is a stupid question," they are usually asking for something they already know to be confirmed or are asking for an answer that should hopefully have a quick and easy explanation.

However, if you're going to remove the context, then compare it to this similar sentence: "This thread is for sexy questions." By the logic you're using, every person in the thread would be affirming that they are fine-ass motherfuckers. Now, while I know I'm as hot as a South American burro on the surface of the Sun, I would not enter that thread necessarily expecting sexy people asking otherwise mundane questions. "Sexy" is modifying "questions" and nothing more.

If the thread were called "In this thread you can post your stupid questions," you might have a better argument as there is a certain amount of condescension in the wording of that title. Even then, it would only be implied as the same words are being modified in practically the same way.
 
This might've warranted it's own thread but I'm far too afraid of making a thread yet.

But my sister is visiting in town and we were discussing work. She mentioned that her company is in dire needs of Information Architects. Does anyone here know much about this. I found a site, but it doesn't really give any clear concise information on what you do. Is anyone here an IA and could shed some light on the kind of experience, education, etc is required. At a glance it looks like something I would be interested in.

It's supposed to be for "Germany, Australia, Florida" but people have been using it wrong lately. Those 3 places were singled out because weird stories tend to come from those areas. The original game was "Germany or Flordia" (invented by the Jimmy Kimmel writing staff and Adam Carolla), but GAF added the Australia.

NPD are released 2 weeks into the next month generally. So we won't see June untill mid-july. Although sometimes they through wrench into our engine and delay them, like May NPD being delayed till July

Am I an asshole?

So i was just at the haircut place just now over lunch to get a haircut. I'm sitting there and there's a few fat dorky lookin dudes next to me also waiting. I'm texting my wife on my phone when I hear a female voice say "Can I use your phone". I looked up and realized she was talking to me. Some early 20's girl. I'm not really used to this question being posed to me so I say "for what". Obviously it would be to make a phone call, but i realized my "for what" is just another way of saying "no". She looks at me sorta suprised like i just slapped her in the face, then one of the dorky kids beside me hurridly whips out his phone. I'm assuming he thought maybe he was gonna get laid? She calls me an "A-hole"

She talks on this guys phone for a bit, doesn't get an answer, explains to guy that she's lost and can't find where her friend is. I'm assuming her friend didn't pick up a strangers cell phone. So she says thanks anyway to the dude beside me, then glares at me in disgust and says "no thanks you to you f-in jerk" and makes a "ugghhhh" noise as she gives me a once over and leaves.

My response is to just smile. I feel like you probably shouldn't expect anybody to give you their 500 dollar cell phone randomly. Sure it's a phone, but it's got a whole lot of personal information and whatnot in it. It's like saying "hey man can i borrow your wallet for a minute".

If someone doesn't understand the difference between "no" and "what for," they are the asshole. But you have the right to say either, without explanation, because it's your phone.

Insanely stupid question that does not deserve its own thread:

I need to burn a particular song onto a blank CD for a party.

Somehow, I skipped over the era of burning CDs and went straight to MP3 players and never really burned a disc. :lol

I have an mp3, and need it on this CD, and it needs to be able to play in any ol' CD player (in fact, quite possibly a pretty old one, if that makes a difference).

Fastest/easiest way to do this? I've got Nero. I could experiment, but don't want to waste the CD if I fuck it up.
 
Web-designer GAF, I'm new to making webpages and need some help.

I'm okay with basic html, but don't know much more than that.

I need to make a simple site with a navbar on the left, and information centered to the right of it.
Here's a quick mockup to show what I mean:

Essentially I want the same style of page as http://www.themfz.com but obviously not as advanced.

The problem is, I've got the navbar to the left up and working just fine, but I have no idea how to get the text beside it.

She's the asshole for acting like that when you questioned her. Like you said there's no way I would hand over my £400 phone to some random stranger, whats wrong with finding a pay phone?
 
In shampoo commercials they show the shampoo being absorbed into the hair folicle like its alive. But the hair we see on our scalps is already dead/dieing hair so why would it be absorbing anything? I know hair absorbs oil which is why we do use shampoo but I don't know how this all works LOL
 
I just saw Lost season 6 episode 9. i think it was the best episode so far.

will it even be better in the following episodes?!
 
Would anyone be willing to buy my Starfox Tournament Edition for SNES? It's like an ultra rare cartridge they put out for Starfox tournaments back when it came out. It's like a mashup of all the levels and you have 60 seconds to play and get a high score. Browsing around it looks like it's worth $400-500. Is it worth selling? Should I keep it? :-O
