Why do game developers make a game go gold a MONTH before release? Wouldn't it make more sense to polish the living daylights as much as humanly possible THEN ship?

I guess the time between going gold and release is reserved for manufacturing the game and shipping it to retailers/the press.
 
I have a Brother printer all in one blah blah.

It's pretty old, maybe 3-4 years. The MFC-3240C.

Anyways, we got it because it had fax. Problem is, I never was able to get it working. It says on the sticker...

"PC FAX. Includes Brother PC fax driver for sending faxes via your PC"

Zuhhh? Manual and cd are long fucking gone. I have a phone cable and jack nearby, but I am confused on how to even set up the fax.

Any help?

Bonus Question: Why are Brother printers so shit? If I run out of cyan, I literally CANNOT DO ANYTHING. This includes not even scanning till I replace cyan. If I want to print some black text, I have to replace cyan. Fuck sakes.

My PC started playing up last night and dropped one of my HDD's out of windows. On reboot I have a strange sight... I get
HDD Master 0:
HDD Slave 0: disk here
HDD Master 1: none
etc.

So the first drive that shows up is actually blank, not just "none". What does this mean? Is the disk not dead but the mobo dying? Any advice?
 
I would like to change from Firefox to Opera. But when I'm browsing GAF, this happens:

Is someone climbing the tree with the beetle? Are there many cameras stationed at that tree? And if so, how do they even know that something like this will even happen at that tree?

I had to re-read your first sentance, i read it as if your computer was playing up and threw your hdd out a window. Just thought o should let you know.

The can I stored in the fridge and keeps the drink cool while drinking. The glass is usually held at room temprature.

ok my task-bar windows explorer icon changed out of the blue..... how do I change it back to the icon I had before???? it's not changing :(
 
I'm heading to Italy soon and will be staying with distant relatives that I've never met. What kind of gifts should I bring as a thanks that will also be easy to carry in my backpack?
 
Wouldn't that be a difference of a few feet? I'd say it applies at the earliest point possible, which would be the moment it comes into view if you are heading towards it.

If it's near a landmark like an intersection then it's supposed to indicate that at the start of the intersection applies the Speed Limit Change.

At least that's what I think.
 
ok guys this is killing me. I found a couple music videos a couple months ago by this indie hipster band that I really liked.

One of the videos was one cohesive shot with cute girls (and a guy) running around in gym clothing and guys in presidential masks and it was one uninterrupted shot that took place in a balet room or something.

the other video by the same band was a slow motion shot of someone dressed as elvis wielding a sword against a group of baddies.

They were both catchy as hell, can't remember the name of the band or the name of the songs.
 
Is it common for apartment landlords to demand a full month's payment for a security deposit? It's always been half a month's rent for me before, but I'm doing some real last minute apartment hunting and every fucking place, from every fucking property management company requires a full month, and I just don't have that kind of cash on me. ffuuu-etc

Yeah it's pretty common I'd say. A lot of places even ask for 1st month's rent + last month's + another security deposit.

I just moved into a new apartment and the deposit was originally going to be a full month's rent. When I went in person she was nice (desperate?) enough to lower the deposit to half a month's rent.

Just make some appointments I guess, and don't just go by what you seen on craig's list or whatever.
 
If I want to get into a class next semester that is already full, what should I do? There are always people that come in and wait for people to drop and I need to get in on that for once. Do I contact the professor directly? It is outside of specialization so my advisor can't help.

This one had me in stitches :lol It's invisible it doesn't look like anything.

The most you could do is look at the atoms in the gaseous forms of oxygen, carbon dioxide and maybe even nitrogen, probably only done with some really super microscopes.

In the past, I've contacted the professor directly. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, but it is worth a try.

let's say i have a cell phone with no long distance. if someone from long distance (same country, usa) calls my cell, do i get charged extra fees?
