Thor: Love and Thunder Official Teaser Trailer

Just got out of an IMAX showing. Fuck the critics, they've lost their damn minds. This was a fantastic, hilarious, action packed rollercoaster. Thor, Jane, Valkyrie, Zeus, Gorr, they were all great.

Nearly the entire audience (theater was sold out) stayed until the end credits. Worth the wait by the way. Great vibe at my showing.

Ragnarok undercut lots of serious moments in favor of comedy, and this one improved on that by letting the serious moments play out. The comedy had its place, and so did the actual plot.

8/10 for me.
I liked Ragnarok, but I felt it was already too jokey. The fact people are saying this goes even further in that direction is a real rurn-off for me.

Hulk has been turned into figure of fun, and so has Thor.

Will wait for a 4k torrent to see it.

To those who watched it can you answer one question in spoiler tags as this will determine whether I watch it:

Was Thor emasculated and overshadowed by and played second fiddle to female Thor?

The new Doctor Strange didn't make over a billion.
I think the 2 Venom films are absolute dog shit, so to me they are terrible films. But there are far more people who love them or enjoyed them. Who am I to go around telling these people that the movies they enjoyed are shit and they are wrong. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and they can enjoy what they want.

You aren't any sort of authority on what's considered good or bad.
But you are? you get to decide what people can critique or not?

Ok, it wasn't a billion exactly, but well over 900 million.

You can enjoy what you want, you can love every movie under the sun, it's fine, enjoy the movies as much as you want. I don't judge personal enjoyment.

But it's a different thing critiquing a movie. Comparing it to the work that has been done, judging its direction, script, cinematography, its clever tricks, and novel ideas. And in these departments, Doctor Strange and Thor collapse. Most people don't give a shit, just like most people don't give a shit about listening to music outside of the top-selling artists, or playing games that ain't Fortnite and Call of Duty.

But if you care a little about movies and are interested in more than just the top-grossing stuff, the only pleasure you will get from something like Doctor Strange is a guilty pleasure, because there is nothing to it.

You are trying to push your opinion like it's fact.
The movies are bad, you just cant see it.

In your eyes it's bad, not in many other peoples eyes. That's my point.

I love movies in general and see as much as I can see at the cinemas based around my wife's work schedule. We see all the blockbusters and as many of the smaller films as humanly possible. Sometimes it's not possible due to distance to the cinema and my wife's work schedule. We even managed to see After Yang at the cinemas which I was very happy to see.

The MCU has upped it's game in it's phase 4 incarnation. For me personally, all of the phase 1-3 films had their own identities and felt different from each other, phase 4 even more so.
Eternals feels like a Chloe Zhao film dour and beautiful scenery.
Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness sure as shit feels like a Sam Raimi film with it's wackiness, horror elements and camera use.
Love and Thunder feels even more like a Taika Watiti film with it's enhanced emotional beats, his best film though is still Boy IMO.

Black Widow is a bit harder to identify though as I've only seen one other Cate Shortland film called Berlin Syndrome which is very different tonally.
Same with Shang Chi and Destin Daniel Cretton, his other films Short Term 12, The Glass Castle and Just Mercy are all very different films. But seeing the behind the scenes you can see Destin putting his heart and soul into Shang Chi.

It is, I can prove it. You can show how bad the movie is and point out specifics. Look at some of the points I mentioned earlier. It's a Sam Raimi film alright, a bad one. His worst in fact. The Witch walking with blood on her face is not horror.

I'm going to blow your mind here but I disagree. Wife and I watched Evil Dead 1 and 2 the other week and we haven't garnered the enthusiasm to watch Army of Darkness. Drag Me To Hell is a far better film than either of the Evil Dead films. And as amazing as Spider-Man 2 is, that's a film where Raimi feels completely restricted and apart from the operating room scene it doesn't feel much like a Raimi film.
