Thoughts on Radiata Stories

Did the bonus dungeon with fairy save and then did the human side in 1 sitting today (final boss was HARD as I rushed and was lvl.45 and my allies were like lvl.30 guys from the beginning ^^; Fight became a one on one very fast).

I think the way they did the Human path was neat. But you can tell they intended for the Fairy path to be the main story and the Human path is a "what if?" scenario. I think the way the story went with the Human path was quite depressing and full of mis-understandings and weak development. So I feel sorry for the folks who are going to do the Human path first and the shelve the game thinking that was all.

The bonus dungeon is very much worth doing as far you can go
(I got Valkyrie and got the heck out of there). The hidden bosses are hilarious and the cameo is great.

Between the 2 paths clocking in at about 10 hours non-rushed each + 15-20 hour start up + time for collecting all the characters...I'm pretty happy with the game length. Though it would be nice if a 3rd ending is discovered because
Gantz is awesome and that made me hate the fairy ending
.

I'll have to check out the Human path soon. It's pretty obvious that the Fairy path is the one they intended because it was meant for Ridley and Jack to be together. However, their relationship didn't have any impact nor did Ridley's struggle own conflict at all which made the entire path sort of moot. The actual premise of the fairy path is cool but just too short and filled with a few plot holes (although they may be resolved in the Human path).

So I'm out of the intro right?

Out and about in Radiata now! Joined the guild too! Cripes, it's so much nicer being able to roam free and do whatever you want almost. It was a total blast exploring Radiata and watching the time/people go by. Really did feel like Shenmue o-o.... Anywho, when will I be able to recruit? I seem to be able to change party members but still no recruiting yet.

Wow, you both whipped right through this game. Glad to hear Tri-Ace is keeping with the bonus cameos.

Quick subject change, but did either of you actually kill
Freya
at the bottom of the bonus dungeon in SO3? I came close to taking her, but lost the energy to craft some helpful Def. and cripple items and gave up. Always was curious what happens after you best her.
Lenneth and the Iseria Queen went down real easy-like in comparison

Valkyrie Profile's good ending (the one on hard mode and ridiculous things to achieve) sucked. I mean, what I was expecting happened, but nothing else. Lame lame lame.

*smacks Hero with a stick* Bad Hero!

You should be able to recruit characters right off the bat but you do need to meet certain conditions to start recruiting certain characters. I'd recommend starting with that goofy Clive. Marietta is also another character you should be able to recruit, you can find her in the School's left tower at the classroom's bottom floor stuck under a pile of stuff.

I haven't done any of the bonus stuff from SO3 because I don't have the English Version of the game nor do I have my Japanese version (which you have Bran ;p). I'll probably get around to the English version of the game when it gets cheap.

I love Valkyrie Profile to death. Everything about the game was excellent, except for the endings. :P

Here's hoping that a Valkyrie Profile 2 is in the works. And that it won't suffer a fate like SO3.

Ah yes, I got Clive right off the bat when the game was telling me about changing parties. Is there any time window on recruiting as well? IE: Marietta won't always be stuck under those books right?

Not a fan of the 'A' ending...amazing. Actually I barely remember much of it beyond the padded dungeons and bosses, which were a great touch. Hard mode as a whole had some neat exclusive characters and dungeons as I recall. Just a shame that some of those plot sequences can go on for upwards 30 minutes with no skip function...grr.

Oh, and if you want SO3 back, it's yours Shouta. :)

I think Marietta appears around noon. I recall tailing Leona and going down to find her stuck under the pile of junk there. I wasn't really paying attention to the time though.

I really don't need my copy of SO3 back, It's the buggy version anyway. :lol

Psycho Wizard is in there too apparently Draggie. :D

Oddly enough, sometime during the night I ran into a little cutscene with Leona. Poor girl couldn't find her glasses (they were on her head...) and kept tripping. I guess I'll try following her around if I see her. I can just keep goofing off and recruiting right? Or will the game eventually force me to do something? Actually, I think the next day I was assigned a mission and the party change icon disappeared. Bah XD

You'll be forced to see certain events and eventually forced to choose I believe. So there's a certain timeframe you have to do stuff.
