It's a fairly busy week here at the LGC for THQ - we've got a stack of new trailers and screens lined up for Red Faction: Guerrilla, Saints Row 2, de Blob and of course Dawn of War II amongst others, plus we're filming some exclusive video interviews for THQ TV. So Space Marines, Orks, Eldar and Tyranids are confirmed. I'd love to have Chaos but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
 
FUCKING GORGEOUS ! Now I'm 100% sure, DoWII >>>> StarCraft 2 (IMO). Too bad we still have to wait for this game long time :(
 
I kind of hope there will be additional "extended versions" of this trailer introducing the other races etc.

Edit: That's a death leaper in the trailer, right?

Also, hoping for the red terror. I always liked that guy. "Swallow whole"! *chomp*

Only one teensy nag: The Tyranid in the screenshot looks too clean. I want strings of alien liquids to ooze out of its mouth and stuff.
 
YES, YES, YES, FUCKING YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew Relic would't be so cheap to let Tyranids for an expansion.

Dawn of War II is going to be gorgeous, can't wait.

Just noticed the same thing, way too shiny and plasticy look. Same goes for the orks at least in some trailers they look bit too "clean". I hope they will change that.
 
I thought this was pretty much confirmed with the last trailer. Good news nontheless. Can't wait to chomp on some shiny metal Space Marine ass.

Eldar are confirmed? When did this happen? I missed it. Awesome.

I'd gladly trade Chaos for Tyranids in the base pack, I never liked Chaos much and many of their units and mechanics were too similar to Space Marines (in DoW at least).

Never got into the older Warhammer 40k RTS games by Relic. This one looks awesome though, will definitely check it out!

Just a little question for the Gaf. Was there at any point in the Warhammer 40k games a good online multiplayer community? It just seems to me as these Warhammer 40k games are more of a single player experience.
 
I think Eldar, Ork, SM, and Tyranids are going to be the shipped races. That way they can keep the CSM as a strong adversary in the first expansion.

Just a little question for the Gaf. Was there at any point in the Warhammer 40k games a good online multiplayer community? It just seems to me as these Warhammer 40k games are more of a single player experience.

There's always people playing DOW, even now. I think things probably peaked in terms of balance right before Dark Crusade came out, but that expansion really got more newer people playing the game. Soulstorm hasn't had that same effect but things still work out pretty well if you want to find a game. It's certainly not a slick a system as COH is, of course.
 
Awesome, DoW2 = still my most anticipated game.
Now THQ, the only true way to follow up this announcement is with the CoH: Tales of Valor reveal!

I get banned for a month for commenting on how I expected Bioware would bring Dragon Age to the consoles (which turned out to be true!) and then I see posts like this slide by without any repercussions. Nice GAF, real nice. :(

Anyway, you all should check out the "This world is not ours" trailer. It's badass and is on par with Blizzard's cinematics.
 
I don't really know enough to appreciate why this is awesome, but I'm not missing this party. FUCK YEA, 'NIDS!!!!!!

please let the campaign kick ass! Anyone happen to have a non-shitty link to download the new video handy?
 
I've never played the tabletop game (and probably never will) but I played the first Dawn of War and a few expansions and those were by far my favorite RTS game(s).

So I'm really looking forward to this one. I really enjoyed the original campaign (not the world map thing) in DoW. So I'm hoping for another great story line. Is there a release date btw?

perfectly normal, and relic hasn't even talked about multiplayer, which is quite possibly going to be one of the most bonerrific genre crosses EVER if they go the route I think they are going with it.

Same here. 2009 is all I've read so far, I wouldn't expect it until Q2 or Q3 personally, maybe an expansion due for Q4 if it is out Q2 or sooner.
 
I know this is a DoW thread, so I expect a certain amount of DoW favoritism, and I'm partial to it myself, but you'd be lying if you say you didn't think SC2 was going to deliver on the campaign and then some.

I'd say SC2 is a safer bet for the better campaign, but DoW2 has the potential to deliver much more brutality and better one-liners.
