I'm not sure if that's a criticism of America's whacky contradictory sentences or Canada's lax punishment of murderers. Eh, I'll assume it's both.

fine if the boy is abit mentally retarded then and the teacher is abuseing him against his own will then i guess she should go to jail.

England isnt any better. If you defend yourslef from someone who is trying to kill you, you will get put in jail.

This isn't true, at least not according to the Daily Telegraph's funny front page sketches explaining all those laws You can defend yourself with lethal force if you think it's necessary, AFAIK. It's a different story, though if you knew someone was going to try to come into your house beforehand, and lay in wait, or if you persued someone and attacked them when they were fleeing.
