Haven't seen anything from this Tidux guy in a while. Is he legit?

Unless I'm missing something, anything this says we either knew already or can be be very easily inferred. It doesn't even provide a likely month, I believe Cerny himself said 2026. No idea which is the rumor part.

Sony is working with developers to integrate this enhanced PSSR into new titles, though it may require additional effort to update existing games.
At this point would be better to just use FSR4.

Imagine seeing that goddamn glorious GTA6 trailer and wanting to downgrade literally every aspect of it just to hit 60fps :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Pro aint running that game at 60fps without significant downgrades. lmao

We already know all this. How is this a rumor when Mark Cerny told the whole world about this future update?

« Rumour: a current console will have a software update in the coming year »

Updates to PS5 Pro, in particular, are going to be of significant interest since PSSR is an evolving tech.

He isn't. and he was here on neogaf and got banned too if I am not mistaken. Nothing else he said here is new too.

He is/was a pretty hardcore Sony fanboy but that also doesn't make him wrong here, just huge amounts of salt with his post if its coming from him

Ah.....thanks. Couldn't remember what he was about.

Bro just give me games in the same scope as GTA6, something to be in awe. I dont give a fuck about tweaks when theres nothing visually demanding and impressive to use them for. Wow amazing 2 big visual gore games at best per year, wow holy fuck. "we're improving this dat and dat and remastering fr 10 bucks Horizon again so you can use these awesome features". Fucking ridiculous.

How funny would it be if the PS5 Pro does not actually run GTA6 at 60fps (without having to resort to Switch 1 visuals).
I think most level headed individuals on this forum are already well of the mind that GTAVI isn't likely going to be running at 60fps on the PS5 Pro. If it does then I'll be amazed, but my expectations are that it will display anything from 1800p-4K at 30fps. Maybe we'll even get a 40fps mode, but this is Rockstar so I won't hold my breath.

Yep. That would be great. Do it all the time on PC. Options are fantastic, ain't they?

This mentality is exactly why this is the worst console generation in history. (coincidently its also the smallest visual/gameplay leap)

Options are great when the platform is built for them (PC). Consoles, historically, were about simplicity. You get one goddamn mode, and it works. This generation? It's just endless "performance vs quality" toggles. 720i trash in hideous "performance" modes.

During the golden age of gaming, we didn't get choices. Devs gave us one version, and it was optimized to perfection. Games looked amazing. We had actual next gen leaps.

GTA 6 looks as good as it does because Rockstar isn't chasing five different settings. They're mastering a single vision and delivering it.

Options on console are a waste of everybody's time. Man up and deliver the game YOU want me to play.

I'm just glad devs are not listening to you (for the most part anyway).

Yes, correct. All these options are stupid. Devs know which way their games play best, just set that option and show your game in the best light.

Considering 75% of gamers on PS5 choose performance mode.....I wouldn't be a bit surprised.
yeah but just imagine what a paradise it would be if the devs took those options away from us! It would be just like the golden age of gaming.

And even better, imagine if every game took nearly a decade to make, cost 1-2 billion, and launched as a timed PlayStation exclusive, just like GTA VI! We would be drowning in kickass games by now. I bet it would save the gaming industry.

We should start a list of hyperbolic bullshit that ruined gaming this gen.
