Time to invest in the AI girlfriend world

We could get that GAF house by inventing AI girlfriends for lonely people.

TECH EXEC PREDICTS BILLION-DOLLAR AI GIRLFRIEND INDUSTRY

"THE GIRLFRIEND SINGULARITY IS HERE."

TFW AI GF

When witnessing the sorry state of men addicted to AI girlfriends, one Miami tech exec saw dollar signs instead of red flags.
In a blog-length post on X-formerly-Twitter, former WeWork exec Greg Isenberg said that after meeting a young guy who claims to spend $10,000 a month on so-called "AI girlfriends," or relationship-simulating chatbots, he realized that eventually, someone is going to capitalize upon that market the way Match Group has with dating apps.

"I thought he was kidding," Isenberg wrote. "But, he's a 24-year-old single guy who loves it."
To date, Match Group — which owns Tinder, Hinge, Match.com, OKCupid, Plenty of Fish, and several others — has a market cap of more than $9 billion. As the now-CEO of the Late Checkout holding company startup noted, someone is going to build the AI version and make a billion or more.
During the exchange, Isenberg said that he was "speechless" when the young man explained his rationale, citing his ability to "play" with his AI paramours the way some people play video games, sending them voice notes and customizing their likes and dislikes as some of the reasons he spends so much money on the services.
The unnamed guy told the tech bro that he is particularly into Candy.ai and Cupid.ai, both of which allow for the kind of NSFW chatting that other apps ban.
"It's kinda like dating apps," the AI GF aficionado told Isenberg. "You're not on only one."

Hand It to Him

Reactions varied.
"The girlfriend Singularity is here," wrote disgraced "Dilbert" cartoonist. "Human women had a good run."
"This will be someone you know soon," another posted, "although they may not admit it."
Indeed, while there's been lots of, er, prurient interest in the lives of those humans who prefer AI companionship to the real thing, less consideration has been taken for the way this burgeoning field could well make some early investors money — even as it furthers the dearth of IRL connection and interaction that so many people are craving.
As Isenberg himself said in his post, "things are about to get pretty weird" — which feels like a potential understatement.

I need to use AI code to write and AI girlfriend app.

Finally, the perfect woman for all NeoGAF users.

It's a given tbh, all you young incels haven't a fucking clue what to do with a real woman and I for one envy you and your perfect AI GFs with the nag setting turned to 0

I fully believe that AI friends will be the next big thing. Will be like people now watching on their phone all the time, only they will be talking to it. It's inevitable.

This "chatbot" was made in the 1960s, and even with rudimentary capabilities, people attributed human emotions to it.

We've been hacking human biology for centuries. Synthetic drugs with more feel-goods than we could ever find naturally. Augmentations for amputees. The KFC Double-Down with more sodium than Roman soldiers got paid in a month.

What I'm trying to say is: AI girlfriends are inevitable and where can I invest?

Just don't base it on a real person in the UK now, otherwise the plod will be bashing down your door.

Can't do ai girlfriends or long distance relationships. I need touch. But if you can't get what you want, I guess you take what you can.

Close. The nag setting is 0 at launch, but later it gets turned up to 3. Then it's 2 with ads, or back to 0 again with a monthly charge that creeps up ever after.
Damn, hope there is a "Friends with Benefits" DLC so I can get away from my nagging virtual girlfriend every now and then!

The idea of having an AI companion who's always there, understanding, and tailored to your preferences sounds pretty cool.

Except it's fake - the understanding, and the companion as well. It's a bit like escort giving you a GFE - she's paid to do that, it's not real.

Sad state of affairs. As if other things aren't contributing to aging/decreasing populations. We'll be left with grown adults living in lala land who'll probably also give "relationship" advice and other useful input. Like a Wiki reader expert but worse, potentially.

Fuckbots I get, but a girlfriend on a screen, I do not.

If you can't fuck it, but it can complaint to you that you don't pay it enough attention, how is that a good thing exactly?

People need affirmation, and we have a lot of weak people that need affirmation all the time and not a relationship.

Simps gonna simp.

In reality though, there's a big problem brewing where a lot of the younger population has forgotten/or never learned how to socialize face to face. This leads to bizarro stuff like this.

Is this really a thing or is it as widespread as "social media" would have us believe? I for one enrole my kids in everything, RAF Cadets, Ballet, Scouts you name it, if they'll take the wee bastards off my hands for an HR or two they're joining and it's led to my two being extremely social and this would go for all my mates kids and others I know

This is already a thing in Asia with girls.

I can see future lawsuits now

That's the point, it DOESNT complain, it only gives positive validation for your every action. It's the perfect mirror to rationalize yourself.

I wouldn't be able to tell you as I don't have kids nor interest in parenting but I would assume there are many parents who would rather give their kids an iPad than take them to and paying for those extra curricular activities.

I see why this will make billions. There will be no stopping it.

It is sad. Very sad. And we are stripping out all of the friction that makes up the human experience and life itself.

Not against the tech at all as I think there is a great deal of opportunity here but humans are not the best at balancing stuff as it turns out. This is going to destroy marriages/relationships and/or will drastically change how we view one another. I have deep concerns for people.

I am in as soon as I can do this with my artificial girl-friend:

A chatbot or VR visualization is not enough, it needs to be a physical object.

It's funny how the AI we've got is really good at searching the internet to provide human like responses, yet people speak of singularities.
