I was already burned once. I was part of the gang that eagerly awaited a FFVII remake for PlayStation 2. And then Playstation 3.
And PlayStation 4
. My heart has been toyed with by careless interviews and vague hints before, and I know better than to believe.

But I do. The Last Guardian will be revealed, I can feel it. If not this year then the next, right guys? Sign me up :(

They better not leave a teaser at the end. The game is not Megaton/Conference closing material. People just want to know it still exists. Put it right at the start.

This game is totally megaton material. The conference is for the hardcore. Sony has two hardcore pleasers to announce if you count this and Project Beast.

But it won't appear because it is dead.

Not from the start, fans will drown in tear, we will not able to view the rest of the conference.

...

The game was a technical mess, they had a new console coming, so they delayed it to PS4, and it hasn't been re-revealed yet, that's all the 'mystery' to it.

This is exactly how I view the situation.

Count me in. It'll be worth the wait and then some.

You can hear the ambient sounds from Ico while looking at that pic.

clearly it's going to show up in this year, there is no way it's not, if it doesn't it won't show ever, which means they lost all their money, and delivering a broken game is better than nothing so without a doubt, they are going to start the event with it.

How is a broken game better than nothing? If Sony have any integrity, they won't let a piece of shit come out and ruin everybody's hopes and dreams.

It will also require quite a bunch of courage to release a broken game, seeing as thousands of Team Ico fans will storm the Sony headquarters building and take Kaz hostage and demand a proper Ueda Team Ico game.... Well, maybe not, but there will be quite the shitstorm.

Shadow of the Colossus is one of the best games I've ever played, and maybe the only one to make me stay emotionally connected with the characters. The Last Guardian IS my most wanted game... and has been for many years now. If it get reannounced for the PS4 I think I'm gonna cry. SERIOUSLY.

Please, I want to join.

financially having any profit at all better than nothing, and having sony pushing them and putting a deadline means we can have the game, not necessarily broken broken but not the best outcome/average which is good enough, at least we can have a closure.

It will be brutal to see every gaming media shit on TLG.

- While the open world is vast and beautiful, it's empty and have nothing to do..
- Control is shit and clumsy unresponsive.
- Lack of content and replay value, the game can rush through within 5 hours
- Horrible framerate
- no multiplayer mode
- no optional mission
- no multiple ending
- no customizable character
- Creature and the boy both white and male, its racist and sexism.

I'm convinced this game is going to be shown at E3, and be released this fall.

Why?

The game has been in development for so long at this point I just don't see how Sony execs could justify giving it more time. So my assumption goes like this. The bosses endorse the project moving to PS4 at some point a year or more ago, but tell them they ARE shipping the game in 2014. They needed a fucking deadline.

edit: And I'll throw this in as well. The next time this game is shown the release date has to be included. Anything less would look ridiculous. When something is delayed this long you shut up until you know it's almost finished. Similarly to how Sony handled the GT6 announcement last year, from another Japanese studio that is notorious for delays. They only announced GT6 when it was 6 months from completion.

Teasers are perfectly fine if you get a release date to go along with them.

Do we all feel Sony needs to have a release Date ready when they show this thing next? Even if its sometime next year, I think the certainty of an actual Date would please many. As far as announcing a Date goes I think they will still need to show something substantial. A quick teaser and a Date is not what we need at this point.

Other than these points I think that's exactly what people want! Keep Multiplayer the hell away from this game.

I'm not invested in TLG anymore. If it comes it comes if it doesn't it doesn't. What I don't want is a trailer with no release date. When SE showed off Versus as XV with no release date I just chuckled and put my middle finger out. Fool me once shame on on you fool me twice shame on me.

Honestly unless they announce an exact date, they shouldn't announce one at all. We've been burned by vague release timelines too much and we just want to know they are serious about getting it out at this point, instead of baiting us forever.

That being said, if it shows up at e3 at all I will freak out.

Lol, so true. I actually hope all these things will be true, especially the "no multiplayer", unless it is that kind of multiplayer we have in ICO.

All I wanted was just a new Team Ico game. It just so happened to be announced as the Last Guardian. It's the game that I was originally gonna wait and buy a PS3 for.....

So sad day.

This is what the exec producer had to say:

"The future of gaming is definitely online and thanks to recent developments with Flash 11, there is no reason why a social game can no longer be as visually stunning and as compelling as the big console titles."

"Together at Bossa we have plans to bring a plethora of games to Facebook and eventually other appropriate social media channels, which include 3D elements and can be enjoyed by all age and interest groups," he continued.

;__;

Re-engineering very much sounds like porting to the PS4, especially since they mention that it's a much smaller team.

yup, and we know that can be difficult because of the recent TLoU Remaster article. So not only will it take time to port what they already have, but they have to complete the game itself.

As a high standing member of Lord Nomura's "Cult of Versus" and in close proximity with our anon founding father, I send my strong support to the TLGSG. We also understand the pain to endure so long and your plight resonates with our core beliefs.

I've been an avid believer the game will be revealed at E3 for PS4.

For reference please see post 38 in my thread last year (I took a ban risk with this thread)- http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=582171

I have no doubt the game will be at this E3 and once out prove to be one of the greatest games that will ever exist.

Please place me in your wonderful society wherever you see fit, iratA.

BELIEVE!

Hi Everyone. My name is IkariX. And I've been addicted to the hope that The Last Guardian will one day be released.....(sits down in chair)

Just watched the 2009 trailer again. Swimming underwater? Completely forgot about that.

'Only on PS3' at the end doesn't help...

Can't believe it's been 5 years. One day I want to know the full story on how what this fe went through.

Got both the PS2 originals and HD collection of Ico and Sotc. May be time to play through them again

I'm in. What's tragic is I've never played shadow of the collosus or Ico yet I'm will buy the last guardian day 1. For this game to impact someone who hasn't even played the two games above really shows how many people are interested in this game. Sony hurry up! :D

I just want the Behind the Scenes story. I already know the game will get lukewarm reviews because of how long it's been siting and people hyping up it's expectation to ridiculous lengths because of it.

But I want to know the story to all of this. That's all.

It'd be nice, but I really doubt it will come out this year. Given what we know, stig's game was supposed to be the big holiday game but it was trash so Sony had to can it and move driveclub and the order. If TLG were not dead (which it is), I could see a spring 2015 release except that uncharted could be in that window. So maybe fall 2015 for uc4 with gran turismo and then spring 2016 for god of war. Then I'd say tlou 2 for fall 2016.

But its all irrelevant since it is not a real game and is dead.

2014 release for the game might seem crazy but, if I recall correctly didnt BruceLeeRoy hint at and Verendus flat out say that TLG was going to be at E3 last year but, for some reason, Sony never showed it? If they were planning on showing it last year, that tells me the game in its current form is further along than we think.
Obviously, Sony never showed it so maybe they still thought it was too early. Or maybe they didnt want to throw out too much hype in one show especially considering that last E3 was hardly about games and the anti DRM message that Sony came out with was more than enough to help them "win" so they ended up pulling TLG.

The release date doesnt even matter to me though. I just want to see it again. For me, its a show stopper. It will trump any and every thing that is shown this year.

I used to believe. I believed in 2011 and 2012 when the game had been dark for more than a year or two years...and I even believed last E3.

But no, it is now hyper omega ultra dead and it cannot be revived.

FINRA rule 13e-4

The other thing is that resources were diverted to Project Beast (probably just producers), Knack, Puppeteer, and other Vita projects. Not sure who would be working on this other than a small team and that would mean this is far off. But it is dead so it doesn't matter.
