I think standard weapons like the semi-auto, the bow or rifle were absolutely top tier and used consistently at the highest level.

Btw I recall we played a couple of games of this back in the day, different names.

It's been many years since I played (if we played together you have a great memory), I can't remember specific weapons, but I remember the feeling it was wrong to lock some good weapons behind a paywall with no way to unlock them (but you're right, some of the base weapons were still competitive).
