Was about to go to bed when I realized, oh shit, Tokyo Game Show is happening right about now... I usually stay up for at least the opening keynote if there is one, there haven't been massive game announcements in a long time at TGS but I'm into it still.

Not a lot of games so far (albeit not too surprising,) almost complete emphasis on GamePass and XCLOUD and other ways of playing games on devices that are not necessarily an Xbox box. Makes sense.
Would love it if they closed with some Halo footage (even if it was the MP, it'd just be nice to have a new game injected into this conference,) but otherwise, this is generally business-oriented and service-focused.
(EDIT - Finally, we're getting into some trailers. Craftopia, Good Life, etc., stuff we know about, but still, games to play.)

Konami wasn't miserable at first (at least, for a game company that doesn't make games), with Castlevania Advance Collection, a Legend of Heroes game (not sure which?). a PS4 action-RPG called Magicians Dead ported from arcades, some Kogado anime rhythm action game, and some indies, but then they just decided to stop the show and fawn over Yu-Gi-Oh cards forever..

Spike Chunsoft doesn't have a rundown, but expects to have Switch and PS4/PS5 games. (Really, just expect Danganronpa?)
D3 will be doing its Day 1 event (Day 2 is tomorrow and will I guess have have more variety?), totally focused on Earth Defense Force according to the calendar. Look for EDF6, EDF3 for Switch, and EDF World Brothers; do not look for a stable framerate.
IzaNagi Games is after that, in sort of the Devolver Digital slot to close off the day.

Look everyone who had high expectations for the Microsoft showcase don't understand Japanese culture. I live here since 12 years, long enough to know that if there is an option Japanese people will normally always buy the Japanese product. That is why Xbox never will have any real chance to compete with Sony in Japan and Phil can say whatever he wants.
