Tom Hardy to be the new James Bond?

I would love this choice. Would be a great fit while still bringing a bit of a different vibe, which is basically what you want from each new Bond.

Now, I'm a big Moore fan but you can't have him at number 1, then criticise Craig for looking old when Moore played the role at nearly 60.
I don't know the only time i felt his age affected his films was in A View to a Kill.

Octopussy is my favorite Bond film and For Your Eyes Only is in my top 5.

I think Richard Madden or Sam Heughan are better choice as usually James Bond has been played by a citizen of the UK.
For older actor i think Damian Lewis or Idris Elba are great choices too

Pierce Brosnan killed that UK citizen precedent.

I think Hardy could be a good choice, height be damned. That kind of thing can be compensated for on film.

I think he could pull it off.

Bigger question if these newer movies will continue being dogshit.
The only good one with Craig was Casino Royale. Skyfall was decent until it turns into Home Alone .

I'm not. Hardy, while still a manlet, doesn't possess spider sense.

I'll be honest I'd of thought someone closer too 6' ft would be a better option, plus Hardy is in his early 40s already, but at the same time, you're hard-pressed to find that many actors who are going to fit the bill, plus women legitimately love Hardy. I think the main problem they face is that albeit he can carry off the bruiser nature of Bond well enough (something Craig also excelled at tbh) I'm less sold on him pulling off the upper-middle-class without coming across like a bit of a fop as he did in Inception. Still we'll wait and see (assuming the talk is true). I dare say it will be a long while before we see a film regardless.

No lies detected. The Bond Navel-gazing and the retconning BS in both Skyfall & Spectre was pretty lamentable. With the former, at least the Cinematography was excellent as The Deakins was on board though and Javier Bardem was a scene-chewing villain, but the plot was utterly asinine. I legitimately hope they don't go down that route again.

I watched all the Craig Bond movies last weekend, it was fun. I do agree that CR is the best but they did okay with the cohesion and I don’t hate them (nor the Pierce [😂😉] movies) but can totally see why folk would be turned off of them. It’s been a while since I’ve watched most of the classics, I need to change that.

I would love to see Hardy take a crack but I ain’t gonna lie, Supes would be dope assfuck. I loved him in MI: Fallout even if a bit cheezy! After watching Tenet one of my first thoughts was how would a Nolan Bond turn out, would also love to see it happen.

Casino Royale is in my top 5 all time Bond movies. Quantum of Solace was pretty forgettable and a major letdown after Casino Royale. Skyfall I actually liked a lot (but nowhere near Casino Royale). SPECTRE was an outright mess which had me ready to move on from Craig. Definitely a disappointing run though on the whole since Casino Royale, which shockingly was 14 years ago.

I guess we'll see how the next one is. I'm not sold on Hardy, but there could be worse choices I'm sure.

1. Moore
2. Connery
3. Dalton=Pierce
4. Lazenby
5. Craig
Craig was just too serious for his own good and he looked old AF in them, and even though i liked CR i felt his films lacked that JB magic.
You have this nailed down to a tee! Craig definitely wasn't the best pick for a new 007.

Skyfall is a horrible and stupid movie where people forgive it its flaws because it's pretty.

That said, I don't see Hardy as Bond (yet).

Don't worry, your secret is safe with me. Though you might wanna tell Tesseract Tesseract to edit his quote.

How is Tom Hardy not a citizen of the UK?

I didn't want to imply that but yeah he is, forgot to re-read myself before posting heh.
In any case, i wanted to say that Tom Hardy is not the best available pick, there is as good and younger actors that fit the profile like the ones i picked.

Also, even if Pierce Brosnan is Irish-American, i rather keep James Bond being played by someone from the other side of the pond.

No thank you. I really think theres like this Manedela effect convincing people hes a really great actor, he just isnt. He can do some things well, exaggerated characters like Bronson for example, but I would not believe hes Bond.

I would much rather they chose someone younger and less known.
