Catalyst looked rubbish, Lara has manly face features + girlboss mode. Atlantis gave the vibe of the OG games.
 
I don't trust Amazon to not interfere and make Lara Gay. Besides, Flying Hog and Crystal Dynamics just are not studios capable of making an exceptional AAA game.
 
I take back everything I said Madflavor Madflavor . I was too skeptical about the leaks.

Lara looks great in both imo, with Atlantis having the edge, obviously, but the game looks…. Ok? Not really sold on either yet. Atlantis seemed janky and Catalyst just screamed B-movie adventure with the stereotypical badass… And Catalyst was CG? Don't know wtf "captured on PC" was supposed to mean.

Gonna wait and see.

Something is very off about Lara's face in the Catalyst trailer.

It looks like one of those deep-fake superimposed faces.

They finally made a Tomb Raider that actually looks like a Tomb Raider and a Lara Croft that actually looks like Lara Croft. At least in the Atlantis one. Without Uncharted, this is the only treasure hunting adventure game that i can look forward to, and so far im liking what im seeing.
 
its kind of interesting that theyre almost pitting these two games against each other. Might help the decide where to take the franchise from here. Like they might already be getting feedback that Crystal D's Lara in Catalyst is less popular.

Yeah, I don't care much for immersion personally. I just want a fun game, and the Atlantis footage seemed more gameplay focused.

A cinematic CGI trailer does absolutely nothing for me.
 
The problem with both models is that they clearly wanted to do a mish-mash between Classic Lara and Survivor Lara.

Neither model looks like the Classic one even in the better model of Legacy of Atlantis, you can see some features of Survivor Lara.
It's clear the Catalyst one is much older, but IDK, I don't see what the big deal is, I agree it's a bit weird, but it's an exaggeration.

What boggles my mind though and is more serious is why the 2 games by 2 different studios, why a remake when you have the OG, Anniversary and the Remastered that doesn't even have 2 yrs.
Only big positive is the dual pistols, I'm just hoping that the remake at least ditches those painted ledges, because I'm sure it will have a ton of difficulty options and whatnot.
 
Id rather have a new story, enough with these remakes over and over. First we got Anniversary remake, then Remstared version with new models and now ANOTHER remake and reimagining.

I wonder how grid-based level design can translate into a modern movement system.
The classic Tomb Raider games are almost puzzle games in this regard, with precise jumps that are only possible because of those grids - and those jumps are essential and actually enhance the fun.

If I imagine all of this in a more "fluid" and freely explorable style, that whole aspect - which made Tomb Raider what it was to a large extent - completely disappears.
 
Aside from the imposter posing as Lara, the Legacy of Atlantis at least looks interesting.

I wonder what happens if you press select twice followed by circle, circle, square, triangle, select & R1?
 
Absolutely impressed they didn't make her look like a fucking dude or someshit, she looks great and the game itself just looks awesome.. Hyped... Lara looking great

I don't understand how the Lara look in Atlantatis can be considered better lol. To me seems more a fake cosplayer of the first game than the "real" Lara but eh.

Neither of these look like Laras but Legacy of Atlantis at least has a chance to not be so rotten with modern pandering
