SUMMARY:
Tony Hawks Pro Skater HD is the best elements of THPS 1 and 2, upgraded for today. The game returns to the earlier style of gameplay from the first two games. As such,
additions made to the gameplay mechanics since Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 onwards, such as reverts, are not included. Instead, players must rely on tricks, grinds & manuals
in order to pull off combos. Many of the classic objectives return, such as getting high scoring runs, collecting SKATE letters and finding hidden DVDs (which replace the tapes
from the original games) within each level. The selection of skaters will consist of classic skaters such as Tony Hawk & Rodney Mullen, as well as modern skaters like Riley Hawk.
DLC:
Activision confirmed there will be a $5 DLC arriving roughly a month after the launch of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD. Included will be three levels from THPS3, several more skate
pros and the pack will bring back the revert - a kind of bridge move introduced in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 that allows players to chain together combos they couldn't otherwise in
previous games. Revert will only work within the DLC, and will not be a compatible mechanic in the core Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD game because reverts were introduced in
THPS3 and the levels were designed accordingly. Airport will be one of the three THPS3 levels to make the cut in the DLC
