Yea I think he was more upset that I previously "illegitimate " source was now a place where people could legally watch anime and blamed things like it as to why anime would no longer be watched or picked up as much on live tv. Either way it was bizarre and sorta misguided .

There will always be people who like dubs over subs and vice versa and shows will be picked up on TV because of that. I can kind of agree that streaming sites will eventually kill off traditional television outside of live events, but even that scenario is still a ways off imo.

The highest rated toonami program (usually Dandy or Bleach) struggles to break into the Adult Swim top 40 shows each week. It's normal for 3AM Family Guy re-runs to do better, I'm not sure if the current ratings warrant an expansion although the block has grown since the 2012 resurrection.
